Has anyone else experienced weird cramps in the early days? I feel like I have been doing sit ups IYSWIM! Not down low or anywhere near the baby, but round my middle and below my navel and right round the sides! Confused

andadietcoke · 15/07/2013 22:05

guff I had an internal scan at 7+4 - it wasn't too bad at all, promise. I even had one at 10+4 so the sonographer could get a better view of the baby behind the anterior placenta

bod I have New Look under the bump work trousers and they've been fine, although they're a little bit too small now (but I am measuring bigger than full term).

Pre-scan doom has set in. The expectation of finally getting some answers about mode and timing of birth has finally got to me! Good luck tomorrow guff - will be thinking of you when I'm waiting xx

GuffSmuggler · 15/07/2013 22:07

Thanks all, hope it goes well for you too anda.

Going to try and get some sleep in this ridiculous heat!

Rockchick1984 · 15/07/2013 22:10

Guff you are seriously my pregnancy buddy - also booked in for a scan tomorrow at 10.30, will be exactly 7 weeks!!! Fingers crossed for us both!! I had external scan at 6ish weeks last time, had an internal scan when MMC diagnosed but it was fine - dildo-cam is only slightly bigger than a pencil so no discomfort.

Had booking appt today, midwife is lovely and offers free hypnobirthing classes once I'm further along in the pregnancy :)

Yay Thunder congratulations!!!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 15/07/2013 22:14

Internal scans aren't so bad. At least once they have decided that they need to do internal, they let you go and let out all of the wee you've been saving! Grin

JBrd · 15/07/2013 22:25

I agree that internal scans aren't bad, they really don't go very far 'in', iykwim Wink Much much less than a smear!

Bodicea - I don't know yet how long I will have to be on the injections, it will depend on what sort of birth I will have! Hopefully, I will actually make it to the consultant appointment this time, to discuss all this.
I'm getting ready for all the horrible bruises again, thankfully I don't wear bikinis!

Saggy - I think cramping is fairly common in early pg, lots of things being re-arranged in there...

I've had both a headache and backache all day - headache prob due to the heat (I'm not good with heat), backache (I hope) is due to the fact that I spent the weekend hunched over the pressure washer, cleaning our patio! Cancelled my gym session tonight, no point going if I don't feel well (this could become a frequent excuse, I can tell!)

Need to lie down now, very tired...

Chocolateteabag · 15/07/2013 22:44

Excellent to see you here Thunder!! That has made my day Grin

I have been at a swishing evening tonight and was coerced into getting some vv nice girls things (joules stuff and vv cheap) so will no doubt be having a boy!

Nothing suitable for my bottom half though. Will have another go with New Look but couldn't find anything not boot cut last time I looked. Seems daft to spend too much considering I'll be mostly pg in the autumn.

Gary - DS's labour started with a show (snotty mucus plug) and then quickly to cramps in the space of an hour. But before that I had tried to clean the kitchen floor with a cloth (lots of squatting) so look out for random nesting/preparing type behaviour too.

Saggy lots of weird cramps for me early on this time.

Also got a Serola support belt today - has been weird to wear but so much more comfortable than not wearing it IYKWIM.

GardenWorm · 16/07/2013 07:18

THUNDERRRRRR! Let's get ready to rumble! (sorry.....childish I know Grin)

Anda, Guff, and Rock - good luck with your scans today, hope you early scannees get to see some healthy blobs and maybe a heartbeat and I think Anda don't you get your c-sec date today (if necessary!)?

Gary what's your due date? I also had nothing but lots of people have a bit of 'gearing up' before the big drop! Hope you are ok x

IBelieveInPink · 16/07/2013 07:30

Ooh good luck for all the scans today. I have fingers, toes, eyes etc crossed for everyone. Looking forward to some happy updates later :)

Good luck today scan ladies!! Got all my crossable bits crossed! Don't forget the lucky socks, and if its too hot to wear them, wing then into your handbag :) xx

jmf294 · 16/07/2013 08:09

Good luck with scans today andadietcoke, guff and rock!!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 16/07/2013 08:11

Good luck today Anda, Guff, Rock.
I had a (private, if that makes a difference) 7wk scan & they went straight for the stomach cam, saw a little blob with a moving hb blob.

Saggy, I had really awful cramps early on with this one.

Lucky, hurrah for cot! Although at putting it up!

Everything still the same here, I guess it's just my body going 'mwhaha! enjoy your last month of pregnancy'
Seeing MW later so will let you know what she thinks.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/07/2013 08:12

Good luck with today's scans guys.
Question: lucky socks??

BlackholesAndRevelations · 16/07/2013 08:21

Good luck guff and rockchick for your early scans! Internal isn't so bad. Hope you see a lovely little pulsing blob!

Good luck Anda too, very exciting that you'll know when little ladies are coming!!

Re: labour, first time I had what I thought were horrible pains (ha!) for two days before finally going into active labour! Waters broke at the beginning of the third day (6ish) and she was born later that afternoon.

Second time waters had to be broken during labour but I knew I was going into labour as pains started off quite strongly. Pains started at 9 pm,went in at 2 am, born at 11 am. I had that low down, achy, out of sorts feeling for a good few days before labour.

I'm very excited about impending births! I hope everything is ok for Jess and she's just far too busy to post!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 16/07/2013 08:22

Ps welcome thunder! And Jbrd too! Sorry didn't say that earlier. Hope your pregnancies are very dull Grin

andadietcoke · 16/07/2013 08:33

garden I do, I do! I'm really hoping for some answers and a timeline for what they're planning because I like a good plan. Convinced that bottom baby will be head down though and they'll refuse to induce at 38w and I'll be none the wiser by lunchtime.

Good luck guff and rock

I have a confession to make... My lucky socks are... NO SOCKS Shock(which I'm feeling quite smug about now, but was less comfortable in February). Saggy novelty lucky socks (I believe squirrels were involved initially) are a bit of a thread thing but came after I'd had a few scans so I'm exempt self-imposed because I can never find two socks that match

toasterstrudel · 16/07/2013 08:39

Hi all, I had a scan last week at 5+4 where they could only see a sac - the sort of black circle? They said this wasn't unusual and I'm going back in on Thursday when ill be 6+6 - what should I be able to see if everything's going well? I'm dreading it

Hope everyone's enjoying the sun - so lovely to see so many positive outcomes!

toasterstrudel · 16/07/2013 08:40

Also THUNDER that is brilliant so happy! GrinSmile

IBelieveInPink · 16/07/2013 08:51

Saggy - as diet said. Any sort of animal novelty sock will do. Mine were cats. And if it's too hot to wear socks, taking them along in your bag also works. crazy much

OP posts:
SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/07/2013 08:55

Ooh! Dd has loads of novelty socks! Owls are animal du jour around here ATM. Ill steal here and wear them. with my shorts and sandals! Grin

BlackholesAndRevelations · 16/07/2013 09:00

Lol saggy, good look! Especially if the owl socks are too small! Grin

Mine were Santa Claus socks as I'm due a Christmas baby. Good luck xxx

GaryBuseysTeeth · 16/07/2013 09:55

Just realised I forgot to congratulate you on BFP THUNDER!! Congratulations Grin

Saggy, stay classy. You could always wear them on your hands, I'm sure it still counts.

Blackholes, today is my third day of 'pains'...so will you let you know if I copy you.

Pentagon · 16/07/2013 10:54

welcome thunder, congratulations and good luck!

Anda, Guff, and Rock all the best for today!

I also get comments about my bump being quite big for 5 months to which I respond smiling "yes, I guess it is, isn't it?" Sometimes I get annoyed, sometimes not - it depends on the person making the comment! But to be honest, I love my bump, I know I am lucky to have it (after 2 MMCs who could I not be?) and am very proud of it so couldn't care less what people think or say Wink

ChristineDaae · 16/07/2013 11:23

Hello, been trying to build up the nerve to come in here! Had a MC in Feb, now 12 weeks pregnant, first scan tomorrow and I'm terrified!!

GuffSmuggler · 16/07/2013 11:28

Very happy here Grin

Scan was good, had a scary few mins when she could only see the sac on the external scan and I had to wee so she could use the internal cam but then saw a little baby and heart beat all measuring perfectly for 7 weeks.

I know it's still early days but I'm further along than last time when all I grew was an empty sac so I'm very happy and relieved.

Hope all goes well for you anda and rock my PG buddy!

Welcome christine you'll get lots of support here.
