Yey Thunder :) glad you are here :)
Good news JBird that you are able to start the injections straight away. It feels productive. I felt similar taking progestorone pessary. Oh the glamour!

Well the new cot has arrived today! DH is insisting on making it up to check if faulty! Feeling nervously excited! Already have pushchair etc from last time and we put DS cot up before he arrived so am trying not to be superstitious! bites nails nervously

Janie and pink, yay to all that is French - including chocolate croissants and Nutella. Just finished mine and read that he has brought out a tips book distilling all the ideas of that book into an easy to follow guide. So might get that on order.

I am waiting on an asos order of a couple of summery dresses but after reading a few posts not feeling quite so excited.

Santa no you can't always see the sex and don't look for it unless asked ( although sometimes v obvious). it always seems to be the ones that are desperate to know that I can't tell on ( although they are probably mostly girls to be fair). I had a you girl start hyperventilating on me a while ago when i couldnt tell the sex - ended up guessing at a girl to calm her down!!
Bet nikolaides himself scanned Kate!

Bodicea · 15/07/2013 18:03

Oh my goodness thunder how did I miss that one. Congratulations xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 15/07/2013 18:05

I've added something else to the list of stuff that upsets my stomach.... Bloody well everything! Sad Rennies are definitely my friend!

IBelieveInPink · 15/07/2013 18:06

Bod - do you know how often the sex is wrong? See I was already convinced she is a girl, so when the sonographer told us girl I just went with it. I said to her, I know you can't guarantee, but how sure are you... She said she would be shocked if this one was a boy. Can you be that sure with girls? Omg I have bought so many girl clothes!! :)

Hi thunder- lovely to see you here. Hope you get your blood tests sorted ASAP.

JBrd- glad they have you on the injections now.

God it's so hot, so hard to sleep!!
And where the hell is the royal baby??

Bodicea · 15/07/2013 18:32

Well we quote 95% but I have never been audited but I suspect most sonographers accuracy rates are higher. If I am not confident I don't say ( except in case of hyperventilating girl or if I get massivly badgered in which case I might guess and say only 70/80%). If I am gonna get it wrong it is prob going to be telling people its a girl but honestly she sounded very confident to me so I wouldn't worry but keep your receipts xxxxx

Lieslvontrapp · 15/07/2013 18:50

Great to see you here thunder!

Thanks for the nice messages. Now I know what you all meant about the reassurance only lasting a short while. Can't wait to get my 12 wk scan appointment date through now!

Bodicea · 15/07/2013 19:01

Yay for the injections jbird. I was desperate to get on them
And now desperate to get off? How long are you on them for. I am go
So just tried on my asos dresses and they are fab. They were on sale too. Went for the real no brainer options of v neck, empire line dresses and a pair of leggings which are hard to get wrong. Don't buy the swing dresses till much later as they don't gather in anywhere and look like a sac on. Find maternity trousers and tops harder to get right. I especially hate the under bump trousers as they dig on when you sit down. So having an issue finding some decent comfy work trousers that will last the distance. Sending the asos ones I ordered back. And tips on work trousers ?

A woman i dont know at work today commented the size of me and asked if it was my first and pulled a right face when I said it was. It feels like if it is your first baby there is some sort of law that you can't look pregnant till the very end! Seriously why are people so rude? I am under 5 foot 3. I have a short torso as well. Seriously where do they expect baby to go other than out!!!!

Sorry rant over

Bodicea · 15/07/2013 19:04

Rubbish. Just posted before I finished first bit. I have verbal diharea tonight. I was going to say jbird I am going off at 37 weeks. Counting the days!

DIYandEatCake · 15/07/2013 19:20

thunder! Fantastic! So so pleased to see you here, you really deserved some good news. Keeping everything crossed for you. Xxxx

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 15/07/2013 19:23

ah bod that's the mistake i made - i bought a white swing dress with a black pattern on it and it was like a tent. possibly the most unflattering thing i've ever tried on! no advice on the trouser front - i have a blue and a black pair of new look under bump skinny jeans and they're pretty comfy for me.

what i do need to by is a new black tankini top...my shorts bottoms are fine but the non maternity top i had is just creeping up and not a good look. any advice on that would be great...i'm not a good shape for a one piece!

IBelieveInPink · 15/07/2013 19:29

Tell me about it bod. A girl at work (who is the size of a twig btw) said to me today, 'oh my sister in law is the same size as you. She's due next week'

She almost got a slap.

Horray thunder!! Good to see you here Grin

So the EPU called late this afternoon and had a cancellation for tomorrow morning so can scan me at 10am!! Arrgghhhh I suddenly feel really sick and think I'd rather keep going for a while in blissful ignorance about what's going on. It's good though, I just need to get through it.

I'll be 7 weeks exactly, that's far along enough isn't it to see what's going on?

shellsocks · 15/07/2013 20:23

gary I got loads of maternity clothes from DP last time and they were great, but nothing this time round Confused

How far along are you? I had DS @ 40+12, had a show 5 days before and then mild contractions on and off for a few days before things kicked off proper but before that nothing, was convinced I was gonna be induced!

santa DS has hugged my tummy saying aaaaah loads today, dunno if it's coincidence tho as he's only 16m?

Glad you're getting an early scan saggy hope this week flies by Smile

Jbrd sounds like you're on the ball too, glad things are moving along for you Smile

pink I made an involuntary noise too when I read thunders post Blush thunder we were only saying the other day we hoped to see you here soon, so collective excitement is defo high Smile Glad you got an early BFP so you can get your thyroid checked asap x

I must be odd bod and pink, with DS I loved being, and people saying, I was massive, just made me feel sooooo pregnant Grin A lot smaller this time so getting comments the other way (and the obligatory must be a girl then Wink) which is strange!

Finally got myself to GP and gotta go hospital tomorrow to get bloods done, checking for iron and thyroid apparently my symptoms fit under active and it runs in my family too (mum and nan), not gonna google what it means when PG unless it comes back positive!

BumpKitty · 15/07/2013 20:24

omfg thunder I could not be more pleased for you, and I said you would be here very soon! I may go and buy a lottery ticket too Grin
so have you been to the docs? I have a very very good feeling about this one!

gary sounds like things might be hotting up for you :) I'm in the santa school of labour though- not a sausage until there were waters popping. Any more tightenings? I wonder if any of us could manage a labour thread!?

So I had the day off today and went shopping, it was most depressing. I went to Gap and they had 4 rows of maternity jeans for £10 - £15, not one pair above a size 12 Angry, what helped was DH picking up a size 10 and saying, these look huge are you sure you couldn't get these on? Erm no.. I then tried on swimming costumes and really if someone had been around to shoot me I might have let them.
I managed to get a nice vest and some yoga trousers from Gap and a top from Red Herring so I guess that'll have to do me for 4 months Grin

I also bought some babygrows! Actual first thing I have bought for the baby - and even then I was thinking I could give them away as a present if I was freaked out by having them in the house

GuffSmuggler · 15/07/2013 20:26

Loads of x-posts! Oh and does anyone know if it will be an internal or external scan at 7 weeks, just so I'm prepared!

BumpKitty · 15/07/2013 20:30

ace news re the scan guff - remember the lucky socks x

BumpKitty · 15/07/2013 20:31

they will try external first then it depends what they can see. Internals really aren't that bad, not as bad as a smear.

BumpKitty · 15/07/2013 20:34

also, (and I'll shut up in a minute I promise!) my sonographer wasn't sure at all that my one is a girl, she said more sure than not but that could mean 51% couldn't it! Good job the babygrows are unisex

DIYandEatCake · 15/07/2013 20:50

guff I had a scan at exactly 7 weeks and it was just external, they could see everything they needed to including a tiny flickering heartbeat. I think they'll try external first too. Hope it goes really well.

pink and bod I don't think you can win on bump size really, with dd the bump was small and I used to hate everyone saying 'shouldn't you be bigger by now, is everything ok, is it going to be a really small baby?' as it made me start worrying something was wrong! (She was 6.14 by the way, think it was just cos I'm quite tall and she was breech and well wedged in). I'm definitely fatter this time round, tummy muscles aren't what they were!

Thundercatsarego · 15/07/2013 20:55

Sorry, what? Someone mentioned having a baby? In all the ttc obsession I had forgotten about that bit! Oh god how scary!! I can't work out what I'm most terrified about first. Am still not fully here- just one hand and half my face for now. And a toe.

Oo guff great news on the scan. Good to have it sprung on you in a way as avoids the build up?

Lovely lovely welcome thank you my friends. It has brought many tears to my eyes x x
