Thread for ladies who are freaking out panicking slightly when preggy after miscarriage.
Plenty of oldies. Newbies always welcome.

DIY I've had similar at work, my boss tried to joke (i.e he meant every word) I'd had him over as I only started in that dpt in Jan. Wanted to smack him but 'they' aren't worth it. A lot of tongue biting. I am waiting to use the line about when they are old do they want Drs etc to be at their beck and call? If so wind your bloody necks in! Rant over Grin

Pentagon · 12/07/2013 17:39

Welcome back jbird! Lovely to see you here again! Welcome to venus too! Good luck ladies!

anda wow, you got some great presents - nice! (the place looks marvellous by the way, I want your job and colleagues please Wink)

I envy people who are oblivious to anything negative relating to scans and are simply excited to be seeing the baby (my SIL was like that - I just couldn't believe it but I guess that's how it should be and how it is for most people who haven't had a bad experience) I am terrified of scans and can enjoy them only if/once I am told everything looks fine (so only a couple of minutes at the very end Grin)

janie most probably you will have a lovely, well-defined bump in 2 weeks' time and will glow and look great at your SIL's wedding!

saggy if you feel like it and there's no medical reason to avoid it, you should go for it. At least that's what I've been told by a gynaecologist and 2-3 midwives. When pregnant with DD we only DTD once or twice, and after 20 weeks, simply because I was so scared. This time I've been more in the mood and started after 12 weeks - not too frequently but definitely more than last time

jess must be on cloud nine and far too busy now (which is understandable) but hopefully we'll hear something soon!

LuckySocks13 · 12/07/2013 18:57

Hi Venus, and welcome back JBird :) good to see you here.
Gosh how about all this heat then. I usually love sunshine but tis just a bit too hot and intense right now!
Hope all went well Jess and look forward to hearing from you and of the first thread baby! :)

I'm seeming to have the opposite bump issue janie. At least 3 people comment a day how ginormous I am and am I sure it's not twins. Makes me feel like a whale! I think it's because I already had DS and also put weight in with the miscarriages.
Well I bit the bullet and have ordered a new cot and matress for the baby as DS is not keen on coming out of his cot bed and doesn't cope to well with change. As his bed will so for a few more years thought would just get the baby a new cot. It's coming Monday! Eeekkk!

BumpKitty · 12/07/2013 20:04

eeeeee! a new cot how exciting! How old is your DS lucky?, I think I am going to try to encourage DD out of her cotbed but she may not be keen.

janie I am so with you, I think we were slimming world buddies on the ttc thread, I feel like such a heifer. My arms are just vile but I don't have anything that covers them and is cool too :( I would consider restarting SW but I am just too hungry (and whoever first mentioned the Aero biscuits - omg they are amazing!). I bet you look more 'bumpy' than you think

diy that is so insensitive - I hope they felt like a twat afterwards!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 12/07/2013 20:14

yes bump that was me. i was actually thinking the same thing about going back to SW...in fact it's on tomorrow morning so i might yet. i had planned on sticking at it but salt and vinegar crisps took over in the first trimester and i also didnt want to pay a fiver a week to be told i was getting fatter!! i think my main prob is that i've lost all interest in cooking since being pg. i used to love getting home from working and making yummy dinners from scratch but i think i've jut got so lazy. i think the main thing that kept me on the right track was going to spin class which i'm obviously not doing now. just feel really unattractive and nothing looks nice - bumpy in all the wrong places!!

lucky congrats on your purchase!! woohoo!! i think us buying stuff is our way of accepting that we really are going to get babies at the end of this!! how exciting!!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 12/07/2013 20:22

just googled and would need a letter from midwife authorising me to attend SW. i wonder if i could get that from my gp?

LuckySocks13 · 12/07/2013 20:40

My DS is just 3 BumpKitty. Think he can stay in the cot bed until around 5 ish and the matress is decent so thought that new baby DD can have a cot the. Move to that in few years. I got a bedside cot as DS never settled in his Moses basket and I struggled with feeding so an hoping this may help with sleep in the early weeks! Prob not but it worth a shot! DS keeps waking for a wee in the night then I can't sleep now! Nightmare!

BumpKitty · 13/07/2013 00:02

That's a good idea re the bedside cot, I ended up attaching the cotbed to my bed last time (with those straps you put round a suitcase!) it was pretty good but DD still never went in it! She'd just wriggle back over or cry till I got her back snuggled in with me. I wonder if we'll both get better sleepers this time :)

BumpKitty · 13/07/2013 00:03

I'm sure SW would accept a GP letter janie I am very impressed by your positive action, I am apathetic as well as fat :)

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 13/07/2013 00:38

Did anyone else watch the Absolutely Fabulous reruns tonight?
this made me piss my pants! Grin

LuckySocks13 · 13/07/2013 07:14

I used to love Ab fag :) missed that tonight! Janie my DS did slimming world when pregnant. As you said got a letter from GP. I've got a hurry tummy this morning. Hope it's just some stretching. Don't want any more drama. I have a week off now which in this heat is great! Can chill in a darkened room! Have been so hot at night! Need to do some serious house sorting out too or will have no room for an extra being! DH likes to start jobs then not complete them!

LuckySocks13 · 13/07/2013 07:14

Ab Fab not fag!

Rockchick1984 · 13/07/2013 07:42

Ooops, copied the top of the post too, you get the idea Grin

Sorry I've not been around a lot, still very nervous in case things go wrong but the nausea, sore boobs and this morning's vomiting have convinced me that things have got to go well! Hope everyone's full of positivity this morning and planning a fab weekend :)

jmf294 · 13/07/2013 08:14

Strange pregnancy dream- I dreamt I was in the room with Kate Mid as she had her baby- a little girl! Prince William was not around. No idea why I was there!!

I have also been thinking I should restart slimming world! I did it before I got pregnant. In my other pregnancies I was left with losing 4+ stone afterwards- not good!!

Have a lovely weekend in the sunshine everyone!!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 13/07/2013 09:11

jmf that's so funny. i can't believe wills didn't turn to the birth. what an asshole!!! almost as good as anda's celeb spotting!

oh lots of SW interest! i've been doing a bit of research online about SW while pg. i found that the we would follow the Extra Easy plan but increase your Healthy Extras to 2xA and 2xB. i might try it without the meetings for a couple of weeks to see if i can manage it - i think bread is my main killer..realised i've been having lots of sandwiches for lunch and toast at home so maybe if i try to cut that down it could help. i know that weight gain is totally inevitable but just want to keep it to a minimum. might start a little support thread if anyone fancies it. at least thinking about it makes me feel like i'm doing something positive!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 13/07/2013 09:18

rockchick those symptoms sound promising to me :) loving the posifrickintivity!

Rockchick1984 · 13/07/2013 09:29

Janie I'll join sw support thread once I'm past first trimester - all bets are off while feeling nauseous, but having gained nearly 5 stone last pregnancy Blush I've got to do something differently!!!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 13/07/2013 09:38

nice one rock chick :) yes in the first trimester i think it's a case of shoveling in whatever helps so you're definitely allowed 12 weeks grace!

here's the link if anyone is interested SW thread

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 13/07/2013 11:04

dammit in my new healthy quest i just put on my swimmers and decided to do to the swimming pool - not 1 but 2 of the swimming pools closest to me are shut ffs!!! it's a bank holiday weekend here but i thought they'd be open! maybe i should start this new healthy mission on monday! it's a sign..get a takeaway tonight and get the badness out of the way!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 13/07/2013 12:10

Ooh, swimming...
I'm going to do that! I'm getting a bike too, a little light exercise...

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 13/07/2013 12:23

Crikey! I'm working at a fete. I've just eaten a cupcake and a glass of lemonade and the nausea is coming over me in waves! Sad Envy

pumpkinsweetie · 13/07/2013 12:32

I'll shall join you janie Smile
Thinking of a new exercise i can take up that is light & moderate, not sure i'm brave enough for the swimming pool just yet though until i have a defined preggo belly-at the mo i look more chubbawumba than anything else Confused

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 13/07/2013 12:39

nice one pumpkin! i drove to the further away pool - thinking i wouldn't know anyone there! i gross myself out when i see myself in my tankini but bugger it - can't go swimming in my tracksuit bottoms!

Bootyluscious · 13/07/2013 14:30

I've started swimming too Janie Grin (I was a Body Pumper addict before but too worried to do it now about dropping the weight on my face or bump!) & it feels great. Doing 10 lengths now and building up - I think its helping me to sleep as kept getting irritable legs in the night waking me up grrr...
