My symptoms kicked in last night with my BFP! Feel sick, bloated, peeing for England, sore breasts, yawning all day! I'm one day down and right now I'm loving it! Grin

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 10/07/2013 16:13

So chuffed you feel so positive Sags Flowers. Wish you could bottle it and send a bit my way though.

Convinced its another mc ahead for me. They found some weirdness in the shape of my uterus after the mc and the consultant has given me 60% chance of ever achieving a 'live birth' without surgery (he was a cheery bloke). Trying so hard to focus on the fact that thats a bigger chance of a good outcome than a bad one but failing miserably. Sorry for me me me posts of late. Determined to perk up soon - hearing news on our first thread baby will be good!!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 10/07/2013 16:17

That gives you a 40% chance OF achieving a live birth Cam. Those are pretty good odds!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 10/07/2013 16:19

Come on now, have some positivity! We can be baby buddies and meet in town for Decaf and comparing notes! Grin

shellsocks · 10/07/2013 16:24

camo I had my 20w scan for DS on the EDD for my first MC and was a wreck convinced it was a sign of total doom...now I know it was the baby I lost's little gift to me Smile

LOVING your posifrickintivity saggy GrinGrinGrin

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 10/07/2013 16:30

Thanks guys. I'm now off to have a camomile tea and a word with myself about how luck I am. Speak soon. X

Pixielady83 · 10/07/2013 16:44

Well turn up for the books, surgery actually helpfully called me back about a cancellation for a mw appointment this pm so I have just been. She has booked me in for my scan at 10 weeks exactly. I'm happy with that. Only a month to wait now...

camo I hear you on lack of symptoms. The ladies have offered excellent reassurance on this upthread, thanks so much everyone, I feel better after reading your experiences. I'm sure I will be cursing myself in 2 weeks time for wanting sickness Grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 10/07/2013 16:48

Cam, first time round, I didn't even twig I was pg until nearly 12 weeks my symptoms were so slight. DS is now a strapping 17yo! Grin

Pixielady83 · 10/07/2013 16:51

oh and on books, one of the authors choc mentions, Lucy Atkins, wrote a really good book on labour called 'blooming birth'. I found it a really pragmatic non judgemental tome that explained all about stages of labours, suggestions for coping, pain relief, even checklists for hospital bag. It was invaluable in writing my 2 page birth plan that didn't get used due to dd being unexpectedly breech and ending up with prompt emcs Despite that experience I will be re-reading it if all goes well this time, although also curious about hypnobirthing.

toasterstrudel · 10/07/2013 16:56

Hi everyone! Can I join please? Had a mc in February and went on the pill because we thought we'd wait a bit before ttc but got a bfp(?!) - am now 5+5 and terrified!

Went for a scan at the epau yesterday and they only saw the gestational sac which worried me as by this point last time they had found heartbeat etc - going back next week and they said it wasn't unusual that early so fingers crossed for some good news next week!

Hope everyone's well!

Pixielady83 · 10/07/2013 18:05

Congratulations on your bpf toaster! Thanks I really hope they see a little one in your scan next week Smile x

GaryBuseysTeeth · 10/07/2013 18:59

Welcome toaster! Congratulations, and I hope this week flies by for you & you see a hb next week.

for you Cam.
My mc pg was the one I had the most symptoms with, had nada with this one (only tested as I thought period was probably due)...so no symptoms worked out in the end for me (with DS my only symptoms were feeling like period was about to come on & being a bit tired).

Sag, hurrah for symptoms, May you be vomiting & craving peanut butter and marmalade sandwiches soon!

Oooh, oooh!! My tens machine AND Kiddiecare order arrived today, I has everything but the baby Grin

Hope everything went well for you & you're holding a squishy, tar-poo producing milk monster now!

BumpKitty · 10/07/2013 19:34

wow you lots have been chatty!

Yay saggy!!! So pleased for you Grin and you too toaster I can't wait till thunder joins us, I've got a feeling she'll be hear soon.

No symptoms can be worrying but really doesn't indicate much, I was one of the ones wishing for sickness then cursing it when I felt like i was swaying on a boat for three days solid!

Can't wait to hear from jess - hope it all went well xxx

and camo my 12 week scan was on my mc EDD, it took my mind off it if anything. Hope you enjoyed your camomile tea, sounds like a good idea actually...

I've had another day off, DD has a horrible cold so I decided to keep her home so she could rest (she never naps at the child minder's). I'm so very tired, despite a nice 2 hour nap with her earlier Grin. DH is putting her to bed at the moment, fingers crossed tonight is better for her :(

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 10/07/2013 20:51

hi toaster!! huge congrats!

hope your day improved blackholes? having a midweek birthday totally allows you to milk it until you feel it's time to stop so have a birthday part 2 and 3 and 4 if required.

get well soon shell, rotten being sick (unless you're in first trimester and wanting nausea) esp in this heat.

gary that's fab about all your purchases!!! just round the corner for you yay!!!

hi to everyone else xx

so anybody know which seems better...the maxicosi pebble or cabriofix?!?!?! my brain has actually melted and i was thinking of making a purchase tonight online but worried i might buy the wrong thing eek!

BumpKitty · 10/07/2013 21:33

I have a pebble and had no issues at all with it but I have no cabriofix knowledge so this isn't a very balanced review :)

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 10/07/2013 21:38

oh crikey i just ordered a car seat and base aaaarrrgghhhhhh!

Pentagon · 10/07/2013 21:54

jess I can't wait for the announcement! I hope you and the baby are doing well Smile

black sorry you haven't had such a good day... you can have a birthday weekend instead!! DIY how was your day?

Lovely that you heard the heartbeat at 14 weeks pumpkin!

saggy & toaster congratulations and welcome!

anda I hope your work maternity afternoon tea was better than expected - did you get a nice present?

shell are you feeling any better? Hope you can get a GP appointment soon but at least you know it's most likely down to low blood pressure and iron

bod what a great surprise from your DH! You're one lucky lady!

pixie so glad you managed to get a 10-week scan - yay!

camo don't worry about the lack of symptoms - I felt more sick during my last MMC than I did when pregnant with DD or with the current pregnancy. As for the shape of your uterus - I've heard of many women having successful pregnancies after being told the same thing as you. So fingers crossed! By the way, do you and saggy live in Colchester? I studied there (Essex uni) and have many fond memories of Colchester town. I was there in January actually with DH and DD (birthday treat) - it was lovely to be back and I felt so nostalgic and emotional!

pink stay away from the scales! I am and I'm eating like a pig at the moment... but hey I'm on holiday (I will regret it very soon, I'm sure). DD is ecstatic to be going swimming every day and she's getting very good at it - I'm so proud! Grin

I hope you're all enjoying the good weather and it's not making you feel too uncomfortable. x

DIYandEatCake · 10/07/2013 22:14

I can't keep up! Just checking in before going to bed, will read everything properly tomorrow. Great to see you here saggy and toaster too!

Had a lovely birthday thanks, with a nice meal out this evening, dd only went to bed 15 mins ago! Best of all had a midwife appointment this morning where I found out that my blood test shows I've already got antibodies for slapped cheek, and I heard a nice strong heartbeat Smile Dd's been talking about it all day - 'baby mummy tummy, boom-boom, boom-boom'!

Will come back and get up to speed with everyone's news tomorrow.

Chocolateteabag · 10/07/2013 22:18

Hi Toaster congrats on your BFP! I think 5+5 is too early for the HB - 6+5 should be a much better chance, but even then may be too early as you could have had a later fertilisation after you ovulated. "Today you are pregnant!"

andadietcoke · 10/07/2013 22:27

pentagon yep, it was actually quite nice. We went to www.themereresort.co.uk and apart from the very cringeworthy presentation it was a nice couple of hours sat outside spotting premiership footballers!

I got a massive basket of presents - clothes, pram toys, hats, scratch mitts, bath stuff for the babies, hooded towels, pregnancy toiletries for me, dummies, and some other bits and bobs. They've also bought me two bouncy chairs but I haven't got those yet!

Jess hope everything went okay and you have a lovely snuggly baby in your arms tonight.

6 more sleeps until my scan - trying to stay busy to avoid scan doom!

andadietcoke · 10/07/2013 22:29

janie yay! Which one? I've got pebbles and a familyfix base I think. They're just plain black Smile

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 10/07/2013 22:34

aw anda that's really lovely of them, i bet you're glad of the party now :) and ooooh at celeb spotting!! anyone i would have heard of? how exciting! when are you finishing work then?

i got the cabrio and the easyfix - it's the one that the halfords lady tried in my car so i just thought it would be fine... mothercare - 15% off at mothercare tonight til midnight as well as at kiddicare, but realised KC were going to charge nearly £30 to deliver to northern ireland so went for mothercare instead and it was exactly the same price with free delivery. getting it delivered to my parents' house though! eek!!

hope you have a scrummy baby jess! can't wait to hear of the first thread baby!!! makes me feel positive knowing that it's happening today and soon for us!! eek!

night night all xxx

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 11/07/2013 00:18

Right ladies, I need to pick your brains!
Where do we all stand or lie on DTD? I'm quite erm... Keen, and DP never says no, but I'm worried about whether it'll do any harm! Common sense tells me that if its a sticky bean then it won't do any harm, and if it isn't a sticky bean then it won't stick whatever happens, but the rest of my brain is panicking! What's the verdict oh wise thread buddies?

JBrd · 11/07/2013 00:40

Hi all, can i join - again? I've been here before.... mcs in January and in April this year, got a BFP on Friday, 4 weeks now.
Wishing that I'll be third time lucky.

Great to see so many familiar names still on here and apparently doing great!

andadietcoke · 11/07/2013 06:14

JBrd yay! Welcome back. There are a few people who are three times luckier so far - hopefully you'll join their illustrious ranks!

Saggy I haven't. But that's me being paranoid, and then at 20w I had bleeding and was diagnosed with a cervical ectropion and sex irritates it so I haven't since because of that. I feel very sorry for DH. Nothing you do or don't do will stop that bean sticking so go for it Grin

janie we got ours from mothercare too. Biggest celeb spot was not in fact a footballer but Freddie Flintoff. The only footballer I can remember was Jermaine Pennant. I'm not leaving work until 2nd August and then taking annual leave until the end of August. 3 weeks left after this week including one day of holiday and half days on Fridays (not that I'm counting!)
