I am due August 16th and soooo excited. But have to ask other preggers women......what is with pubic bone area ache and pain!? It is beginning to feel like a) I have been on a long bike ride on a v. uncomfortable seat and leaning on it. b) Someone had kicked me in the hoo haa!

It is quite funny, but also weird and something dh and bf just wont understand! Grin Sorry but I had to share.

Could it be spd (pelvic girdle pain)? Have a look at the symptoms online - I don't know a huge amount about it myself but I think it is when the two sides of the pelvis separate which causes the pain. If that is what you have I think your gp with refer you to an antenatal physiotherapist.

I'm sure someone more knowledgable will be along shortly.

Well done! I'm due on the 7th and dead excited too!

It does sound like SPD. Physiotherapy helped me but I had it more in my back. Tailbone kills too. Nearly there now though!

Longfufu · 10/06/2013 07:43

I'm due on the 11th August, getting really excited now about the birth (weird I know). I'm trying for a VBAC this time and just want to prove to myself I can do it.

I also have pelvic pain, in my first pregnancy I could barely walk from 26 weeks this time it's just uncomfortable, painful at times so I'm happy with that, least I can walk. You can buy support bands to help with the pain, I have a nexcare one.

Gerty1002 · 10/06/2013 07:50

I'm due 30th August :). I've had that pain but only after DTD! Sex is now off the table til after the birth i think :(.

knittingirl · 10/06/2013 08:56

I'm due on 24 August :) I have that pain too, I'm seeing my midwife this afternoon so going to ask about it.

islingtongirl · 10/06/2013 09:18

Im due 24th aug too! Also getting similar pains. Anyone also finding it a strain getting sofa etc? Feel like I'm pulling on my ab muscles Hmm

islingtongirl · 10/06/2013 09:18

Getting "off" sofa I mean!

lauracutee · 10/06/2013 09:48

I'm due on the 6th of August and have various aches and pains!

Yes - getting off the sofa and bed is becoming difficult and if I drop something (which is often!) picking it up is a trial.

I can barely see my bikini line, so I feel sorry for anyone who sees me at the swimming pool.

islingtongirl · 10/06/2013 09:52

Oh yes the bikini line is pretty hidden now, takes quite some manoeuvring to see what's going on! ;)

Come join the fun August Antenatal Group!

Horrendous hip and pubic bone pain here, sitting at a desk all day does not help.

JS247 · 10/06/2013 10:57

I'm due August 2nd with our first. Was feeling my best as entering my 3rd trimester, started yoga & seeing a chiropractor to help with lower back pain, and effects were great, meaning much better sleep, and bump looking & feeling great - plenty of kicks & can now 'see' them which is amazing!

However yesterday & today I feel like I've been kicked in the do-dah, walking is difficult, bending to pick things up is painful (and comical) and only eases when seated - I do hope this is normal and not the start of SPD - a friend suggested baby could be pressing on a nerve.

I don't like to call the midwife for every little ache & pain, but its definately worse today than yesterday.

Anyone had SPD before and recognise this as how it starts? can google all day, but real experience & advice is best.

Thanks

im due the 28th im fed up already i just cant wait to have her here now i have my morning sickness back i feel hot all the time and cant sleep much anymore 1st and last child for me i think pregnancy has been hell for me :(

FoofFighter · 10/06/2013 13:12

Hello :) Due mid-August so am now 31 weeks (well tomorrow!)

All been fine up til now, tail end of last week felt like someone had kicked me in the foof/fallen onto the crossbar of a bike :( Mine's worse after doing anything for more than 20 mins, be it standing, sleeping, sitting, walking - whatever, as soon as i stop and switch to another activity the pain starts, feels like half my pelvis is going one way and the other the opposite - really was hoping to avoid SPD as never had it before and have spent the previous 2.5 yrs in pain from herniated discs and nerve damage in my leg which have become far far better in pregnancy.

I'm not getting MW advice just yet, will do if I really cannot cope.

fibrecruncher · 10/06/2013 15:12

Hello All,

Due on the 28th August. I think I know that ache. I seem to get it on one side if I have been lying on my side for a while. Also if I am on my feet too long. I did share with DH, he looked very empathetic and only slightly confused - in fact I've made a habit out of sharing many of the bizarre symptons, so he can feel 'involved' but also so I can justify not picking anything up, lifting anything, not doing any dishes or housework, and generally laying about on the couch alot :)

Gonnabmummy · 10/06/2013 19:34

Ooo mumtobenicole I'm due on the 28th too :)

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 10/06/2013 19:40

Hi, due August 4th, have had the joy of all my ligaments ganging up on me, damn hypermobility. Some days I can't move my arms some days I can't walk. Forced myself to go out shopping today.

Can't tie my laces and have to get Dh to do it, or wear crocs, totally knackered even getting dressed.

Do like watching baby dancing thou, it's amazing when you can first see it.

Sunflower1985 · 10/06/2013 21:34

5th August - 8 weeks and counting.
I've had period type pains since the start. Mentioned them every appointment and I get the response on the lines of - yeah, what did you expect??

Hey ho, amazing what you learn to live with.

Terrified and impatient.
