I'm laying in bed willing it to do it again but as u say it won't play by my rules and will do it when he/she feels like it :-)

wow amazing, congrats!

i'm almost 23 weeks and try as we might, my DP cannot feel a thing when the baby kicks, so 17 weeks is amaze!

islingtongirl · 09/06/2013 07:25

Ahhh wow :) it is amazing isn't it?! And you can get used to feeling it more from now on, probably mainly when you are trying to sleep Smile I'm 29 weeks now and been feeling the little one have a good tumble around this morning, such a nice and reassuring feeling. Enjoy!

MildredH · 09/06/2013 07:48

Ooh how lovely! I'm 15 weeks and also can't wait for this moment.

Midwife said to expect it around 20 weeks but I'm secretly hoping it'll be earlier.

Is this your first?

LittlePeaPod · 09/06/2013 07:54

Wooowww that's amazing... Flowers I am 9+5 and FX all ok I can't wait to feel that... I must admit I am very Envy. Grin

AuntieStella · 09/06/2013 07:58

Antenatal clubs is the part of MN for chat about pregnancy. The threads are arranged by due date, so it should be easy to find those at a similar stage of PG.

This bit is for more serious questions.

Are/were you concerned about feeling movement? Have you for example had a previous pg with oligohydramnios?

Have you discussed concerns with MW, for the advice she has given you is indeed standard. Normally, they wouldn't seek to investigate unless no movement felt well after 20 weeks (as you'd be scanned about then anyhow and obvious anolmalies would be detected).

LittlePeaPod · 09/06/2013 08:04

I disagree Aunti. It's great to hear about positive stories on the Pregnancy thread and we have seen plenty before this one. This isn't just for concerned mum to bes. It's for everyone to share experiences... Don't feel bad OP.. Thank you for sharing it really cheered me up.. [smike]

AuntieStella · 09/06/2013 08:12

The reason for separating PG chat from serious questions is so that people can hide the chat.

Yes, you can have positive stories here - don't set up a straw man that I'm a killjoy.

This thread is attracting the currently pregnant, who want to chat. The PG board would be overrun if it moved from Antenatal to PG. The more important or urgent questions could be missed.

I know I'm channelling thread police, but would ask posters to think about why those two boards are separate.

chimchar · 09/06/2013 08:17

Congratulations RJM.

Lovely news. I loved feeling my babies kicking...something I never grew tired of.

I would love to feel it one more time, but 3 kids is plenty for me!

Good luck with the rest of your pg. x

PumpkinPie2013 · 09/06/2013 08:59

Aww OP that's lovely Smile

I'm 15+5 now and sometimes feel little tickly feelings in my uterus which I hope is baby Smile

Have heard hb on a doppler twice now (extra nw app due to posdible early pgp) which was great!

This is my first baby so can't wait for proper kicks!

Enjoy! X

WeasleyWoo · 09/06/2013 09:27

Congratulations RJM17! I'm 22 weeks now with my first and I've been feeling movement since 17 weeks too. It makes it all seem so real & really helps you start bonding with the baby doesnt it? You'll soon feel it again... they're most active when you're resting - especially at night when you're trying to sleep!

I also disagree auntiestella. IMO the pregnancy forum is to chat about all aspects of pregnancy....surely otherwise it would be called pregnancy concerns or similar.

chryssa · 09/06/2013 09:38

congrats! it must be so exciting xxx

RJM17 · 09/06/2013 10:32

Thanks everyone yes it is my first so its so exciting.

And auntie I'll be honest I totally disagree with u its called pregnancy so this is about my pregnancy so I can write it here if I want and I'm not the first to share a happy story here sometimes its nie not to just hear about problems!! But if u don't like my thread then don't read it.

Everyone else thanks for all ur positive comments its the most surreal and amazing thing I have ever felt and I wanted to share it with mumsnetters who have helped me when I have had concerns xxx

Fairydogmother · 09/06/2013 10:35

Isn't it lovely to feel it! I'm just ahead of you at 19 weeks and been feeling the odd bit of movement tho my DP can't yet!

And share away with happy stories Smile

Fakebook · 09/06/2013 10:52

It's an amazing feeling isn't it? I felt my first baby move at 18 weeks and the second and third at 11 weeks. I'm 18 weeks with dc3 and am feeling little rolls and harder kicks now.

Also AuntieStella: get a life. Seriously.

TobyLerone · 09/06/2013 11:12

Well, it's lovely that the thread police arrived to attempt to ruin your thread Hmm

Congratulations, RJM :)

RJM17 · 09/06/2013 11:23

I just don't understand why anyone would want to put an downer on such a great time by asking if I have problems even if I did (which I don't) I may not want to share that. Think some people just have too much time on their hands,
But no one is going to ruin this amazing time for me x

Congratulations... Must be a wonderful feeling!!!!
I'm currently ttc#1 and can't wait to be in your position!!! Smile X

LittlePeaPod · 09/06/2013 12:00

Ohhh ignor her OP... Major Miserable Kill Joy. Some people just don't like to see others happy and thrive in misery.

I keep nipping back to read all the lovely comments on your thread... Love this thread. Grin

Toby fancy seeing you here.... Smile

gillywillywoo · 09/06/2013 12:01

Oh my god Toby I didn't even see you there! Hope you're well Smile
