I read this story www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22751415 the other day and thought, it would be so wonderful to be able to buy one of these boxes! I'm usually a bit of a google queen but I couldn't find anything out there. Does anyone know if you can buy them and if so, where? So gorgeous!

How much would you want for it? I'd be very interested Smile

Hi best start,
my husband is obsessed with the finnish baby box. I keep trying to talk to him about practical things like moses baskets but he's insisting on a cardboard box... It would definitely be something we'd look at buying as long as the contents are practical and overall it's good value. We're expecting our first so starting completely from scratch.
Good luck getting your idea off the ground.

I have a (completely unused) cardboard crib (moses basket sized). It needs a mattress.

I love the Finnish Baby Box. Saw it in the original article and always knew I wanted one. it was the first thing I asked my husband if he also wanted and he was completely up for it. I have never liked the look of Moses baskets and this can be reused when the babe gets older

I'm also looking for one of these for me and one for my friends baby shower. If anyone has found a link more recently I'd be so grateful. I love the background story!

I was searching all over the net for the Finnish baby box and came across this company called www.finnishbabybox.co/products/finnish-baby-box. Two Finnish fathers started it. Hope it helps

Why would you pay £350 for it though? It's really not worth it! I mean, I'm really excited to be getting the box for my 2nd baby (lived in UK when my 1st was born) but that's because it's free! There's no guarantee those clothes will fit (esp. the snowsuit). There's nothing special about the socks, towel, bed sheets and hygiene products and they are cheap to buy in the UK (unlike here in Finland). If you like the clothes, you can buy similiar online from any scandinavian shop. And the box, it's really just an ordinary cardboard box with a nice print! You can make one yourself!

What makes this box so "special" is the fact that it is FREE for all mothers in Finland. But if you have that kind of money to spare, why not just use it to buy nice stuff for your baby? You know, colours and prints of your own choice.. Smile

You can order it and get it delivered in uk straight from the company. I emailed and asked but tbh id rather get a pram than spend about £300 on the box. Its lovely but abit pricey for me.

I saw a company selling them at the mum and baby show at Excel London. Can't remember the name of the company because the box was about £500 and that is just ridiculous. Maybe if you search the exhibitors for the show it would come up?

Maternity package in Finnish is called äitiyspakkaus. On facebook is a page where you can sometimes find the original packages. www.facebook.com/%C3%84itiyspakkaus-tarvitsevalle-Finnish-Maternity-Packages-Market-277208365742386/
