First thing you bought and how far along were you?

I was at a dinner party last night and a mum who was there scoffed and laughed at my partner and I when we said we were going to wait until a couple of months before due date to stock up on things like baby wipes, nappies etc. We are both first timers so felt maybe we were being naive or something. I'm a bit superstitious ( crazy and not typically, I know!) about stock piling baby things too early. She said we should start buying things now ( I'm 14 weeks) and although I'm excited to buy, still think its a bit early.

We will be decorating the nursery at about 30 weeks I think. DPs dad is a builder/decorator and can get it done fairly quick. We will prob get cot bed and furniture sorted at this point just so its done.

Wondered what the first 'little' bits you got for baby were, how far along you were? Thanks.

Not bought sny thing yet I am 14 weeks. I am not buying anything any time soon. As for spreading the cost just put the money in a savings account, then spend it towards the end. It's taken 7 years for us to get pregnant, so I am not risking anything.

Depends on how each person feels really! Some just don't want bits of clothing or pram etc in the house whereas it doesn't bother me at all. I'd say we will have our pram and nursery done by 30 weeks and then I'll be bored!
