I got my bfp yesterday and I'm about 5 weeks pg. can I really be utterly exhausted already? And can morning sickness already be rearing its ugly head?- I felt rotten this morning till much toast was eaten.

Yes and yes - the exhaustion I found the worst in those early weeks, but it also went fairly early. The sickness, not so much.

Congratulations!

FluffyDucky · 01/06/2013 22:47

Yup yup & yup! I found out I was expecting at 5 weeks & it didn't take long to feel like every move = knackered on the sofa! I'm now 12 weeks & energy levels pretty much back to normal.
It's not easy the first few weeks but it should get better. Rest & be waited upon! X

Yes, for DD2 (DD1 was 20 months when got pregnant) I felt almost suicidal with tiredness but by 8 weeks was loads better. I always think it's such a shame that we can't/don't tell anyone till after the 12 week mark because the first 12 weeks can be the hardest and the times we need the most support.

namechangea · 01/06/2013 23:02

Sorry I meant to add a Yes re the sickness as well. Carbs were my friend (and full fat coke).

Is this your first, second??

Congratulations by the way.

Apparentlychilled · 02/06/2013 00:06

Third! I just seem to have forgotten how I felt both times, at least at this stage.

Congratulations on your BFP Flowers

Yes and yes to both your questions. I am 8+5 and the exhaustion has just got worse and so has the sickness. But from what MW says its all very positive signs... Why don't you join one of the antenatal threads and speak to ladies at the same stage as you ho are going through the same things. There is a Febrary 2014 thread started... Will get he link for you.

LittlePeaPod · 02/06/2013 08:56

Chech ha thread out.. All the ladies on here are about 4/5/6 weeks pregnant.

Thanks LittlePea. Had an ectopic 6 months ago, so having an early scan on tues. till then, I'm kind of nervous of joining the ante-natal thread or even allowing myself to believe this is true.

I know exactly how you feel and understand why you would want to wait. I am sorry for your lose.

I had a mc in March this year before getting this BFP. I found the thread really helpful as there were other ladies on there that had suffered mc, mmc and ectopics. We have all really helped each other through the early scans and worrying and cramps spotting and all that stuff. But you have the link and you can join them when your ready..... Good luck for your early scan...

Apparentlychilled · 02/06/2013 12:06

Thanks LittlePea. In sorry to hear about your mc too but v glad you got your bfp. See you on the Feb 2014 thread, assuming all goes well for me on Tues!

Am 5 weeks too and have spent half of the afternoon sleeping! Really knocks you out, doesn't it?

I'm just using it as a good opportunity to be lazy - I'm getting as much sleep as I can now because I sure as hell won't be getting much in 8 months time!

Blanketsandpillows · 02/06/2013 17:29

I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks-and the reason I knew was because I had never felt as tired in my life! So a definite yes to the exhaustion thing at 5 weeks!

LittlePeaPod · 02/06/2013 17:44

Good luck for Tuesday OP. I am on the Janary thread but I sure the ladies one he February thread ar lovely...

islasmummy2013 · 02/06/2013 18:24

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and exactly the same! Every time dd has a sleep so do I! I was the same when I was pregnant with dd, I can't remember when it went away but it did!

Congratulations on your bfp Smile

vix206 · 02/06/2013 20:33

Hello OP I'm on the February thread and we are all lovely. There are a few of us (myself included) who've suffered losses recently (mine was in March) and it's nice to have people to talk to. So when the time is right please do come and see us. Smile

Apparentlychilled · 02/06/2013 20:50

Thanks all. And congratulations on all your bfps too. And sorry to hear of those who have had losses previously. If my dates are right, and if all goes well on Tues, I'll check in with the Jan thread (currently I'm allegedly due on 28 Jan 2014).
