Well I've made it to 40+1, spent most of today crying, have now retreated to the bedroom to drown myself in orange tango and chilli Doritos...I hate curry so this is the spiciest it's gunna get....watching twilight films...so depressed! What does everyone else feel like when past their sell by!

I'm with you and 40+1 as well, had so many false starts it is unbelievable! Gone beyond thinking about going into labour to convinced this baby will never come out! It was the same with DS1 though so I have proof they do all come out eventually!
Just feel like you wait around doing nothing, trying to keep busy but everything hurts!
We can see who else joins and all race to the finishing line together.

joanna1990marie · 01/06/2013 16:40

Lol, I was at the midwives yesterday for my regular check up and baby is only 3/5 palpable, at my appointment before that she was 2/5...she's goin the wrong bloody way! Either I have a confused baby or im lying down to much! Back again on Wednesday, haven't decided wether to have a sweep or not, just because I don't want anyone rummaging in my foof. I havent had ANY signs or false starts, any pains are usually pump related lol.

Hehe I had exactly the same went from 2/5 to 4/5, I was told it is very common with second and he'll engage when I go into labour.
I'm avoiding sweeps for time being. Experience taught me a harsh lesson with DS1 that once you start interventions they just escalate, i.e went from being induced at 40+1 (due to waters going early) to ending up in theatre 2 days later. Going to leave nature to run its course this time! Good luck!

pinkteapot · 01/06/2013 22:20

hi ladies. 40+2 here. Royally fed up. This is dc4 and the others are all little 'uns so cant even rest. God i'd so love to have a daytime nap! No real signs, bit of pressure sometimes down below, thats bout it. Had sweep last monday, due another on tuesday. been induced 2 out of 3 times so not holding breath, but oh how I wish I had some niggles or show or somethin...

joanna1990marie · 01/06/2013 22:58

Pinkteapot, welcome to the royally fed up thread lol, this is my 1st so I expected her to be 0/5ths the last time :-( I've had absolutely no niggles whatsoever, even the midwife sounded surprised when I said I'd had nothing to indicate labour was around the corner! Getting breathless again now she moving up and being a big chubby baby at the same time!

41+2 here. I'm beyond fed up. Had an attempted and failed sweep on Friday. Having another tomorrow. Been bouncing on the ball, rocking on all 4s, walking, eating pineapple, sniffing clary sage blah blah blah. So over being pregnant now. I just want my baby out!

joanna1990marie · 01/06/2013 23:18

Dear god u have a week on me! Please tell me I can't get any bigger! I have my first sweep on Wednesday.

May as well join in Smile 40+3, absolutely no signs of anything happening. Possible sweep on Tuesday. Will be mighty fed up by then!

joanna1990marie · 01/06/2013 23:51

Here's to hoping our sweeps work.....

sympathise ladies. DD2 was born on Thursday at 40+12. On the plus side labour was only 2.5 hours having had some niggling Wednesday afternoon. DD1 was also +8. Some of us just cook our babies longer. Good luck. x

BlueBerry123 · 02/06/2013 00:27

Sitting here now with horrid contractions every 5mins. When to wake dh is the question!

Splatt34 · 02/06/2013 00:33

NOW blueberry!!!!
Good luck x

joanna1990marie · 02/06/2013 00:43

joanna1990marie · 02/06/2013 00:44

Lol, I like her first post on here, bless, seems like she had no idea tonight would be the night x

OP posts:
BlueBerry123 · 02/06/2013 00:59

Still here and yep this crept up on me! Leaving dh for now as he's likely to have long night and then long day tomorrow with ds1.
Don't seem to be getting lots closer but definitely longer and more painful!
When do others phone their labour ward?

joanna1990marie · 02/06/2013 01:56

Im not sure, I think when it's to painful to cope with or contractions are 4 mins apart and lasting for 1 minute, depends how far u are from the hospital?

BlueBerry123 · 04/06/2013 13:59

Hello all,
after quite a long and 'interesting' labour, our beautiful DS2 was born yesterday at 9.42am weighing 9lb12. Very proud mummy, daddy and big brother! x

LoganMummy · 04/06/2013 14:03

Congratulations!

I'm 40+2 and had a sweep, due another one in a day or two. Lots of pressure but no real contractions.

joanna0211marie · 04/06/2013 19:24

Had my first stretch and sweep today, fingers crossed it gets things going x

chickenfactory · 04/06/2013 19:29

Congratulations Blue!
I had a failed sweep today, cervix is up near my lungs I think. Baby is too comfy.

joanna0211marie · 04/06/2013 19:52

Mine was quite far back but she said it was 1 cm.dialated so she had a good sweep around and touched the babys head. Wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be, was expecting it to hurt but was just uncomfortable.

preggersbycheggers · 04/06/2013 20:37

I might as well join in too with a good old moan.

40+5 now. Fed up. Had contractions at 2pm this afternoon for an hour or so and then it all bloody stopped. Grrrr!

2nd sweep on Thursday and date for being induced which I'm not too thrilled about.

joanna0211marie · 05/06/2013 03:34

I get my induction date tomorrow well today technically, that sweep didn't do anything other than let me lose a bit of mucus! And it hurts when I pee! How far does your hospital let u go over cheggers? Mines 12 days, so only 1 more week to go!!

preggersbycheggers · 05/06/2013 05:46

I think they will have me in around +13 but the date they give me may be well beyond that as they are so busy at the moment I will have to wait for a 'cancellation'!!

At least you gave the sweep a go.

I see you are also participating in the wide awake club at silly o'clock!! Last night I was wide awake at 130am.

joanna0211marie · 05/06/2013 10:07

Lol yes, every night im wide awake for a couple of hours! It's really quite annoying, you just think god can't I just wake up in labour instead of just wanting to pee myself. If anyone ever asks me what a sweep feels like I'll just tell them it feels like the first time you lost your virginity! With someone with a horribly big Willy! Sorry about my description. Was.not.pleasant.
