Hi everyone Smile

I'm 14 weeks today with my first baby Smile I had a scan a week ago at 12+6 and all looked great baby was waving and everything Smile

I was really bloated in the first few weeks which now seems to have reduced a lot. I'm normally tiny in build (5ft 3 and a size 6/8) but I have no bump really???

My boobs are a bit bigger than normal and my tummy is slightly more rounded than it used to be (still gets a bit bigger during the day) but that's it!

Something must be happening in there because in the evening my poor pelvis bones feel like they're on fire and my lower back/legs ache! Can't lie on my back as that makes it worse so only on my sides and sit with a cushion behind me on the sofa.

Just panicking that I have no real bump but I can feel my fundus easily now?

When did you start to show?

I didn't start to show until 30+ weeks.

I'm 5'2 and was about 8-9 stone before pregnancy. Was a size 8-10

DogsAreEasierThanChildren · 28/05/2013 08:59

About 25 weeks (and other people, apart from DH, didn't really notice till about 32 weeks).I'm also only 5'2".

rootypig · 28/05/2013 09:06

I'm 5'4", size 10, felt I was showing by 5 months but still had to tell people I was pregnant at 6 months, so maybe just looked sort of generally porky Grin

DogsAreEasierThanChildren · 28/05/2013 09:12

I ought to have said, talk to the midwife about the pain in your pelvis. It sounds like PGP, and 14 weeks is very early to get it. I had the same (is being short a risk factor, I wonder?) and stupidly tried to carry on exactly as normal with the result that my pelvis is now permanently damaged. If it's PGP you need to walk and stand as little as possible.

rootypig · 28/05/2013 09:22

Oh yes I missed that bit too, sorry. Being short makes it more likely you'll have physiological complications, yy Sad. I had horrendous rib pain for the 3rd trim. But this is very early.

I would go to your GP to sound them out, see a consultant OB if you have any worries, and definitely ask for a referral to a physio - a women's health specialist - asap.

PumpkinPie2013 · 28/05/2013 09:30

Thanks for all the replies so far - very reassuring Smile I want to relax and enjoy now as scan was amazing and all looked great so really not much to worry about but think worrying is just part of pregnancy lol

Dogs and rooty - thank you both for the advice about my pelvis, I'll definitely make a GP appointment! It could well be the start of PGP even though I'm only 14 weeks because I have an abnormal curve in my upper spine and was injured in a very serious car accident 18 months ago so my back is wrecked really despite me being only 26!

I'll give them a ring asap Smile as I'm a teacher so stand a lot during the day plus I visit other schools so take stuff out with me.

My first I was a 6/8 5'6 I did have a bump at 12wks but suspect I was bloated as I was very tiny at the end, and with my second didn't get any sort of bump till after 32wks having my 3rd now, I'm 30wks on sat and don't have an obvious bump, just look like I've gained weight lol. So yes its normal not to have much going off at 14wks. R.e the pain does sound like start of spd/pgp, I have this also but mine started at 16wks, have a word with your midwife about that x

Kelly1814 · 28/05/2013 09:55

i'm 22 weeks today. no bump.

i can suck my tummy (almost!) right in if i have to - no one inlcuding work (apart from family) knows i am up the duff.

i'm 5 foot 9 so tall-ish, and was 9 stone 3 before i got pregnant. have put on about half a stone, not sure where exactly it has gone.

Cavort · 28/05/2013 10:10

I could tell myself from about 17 weeks and jeans were feeling tight, but probably got to mid-20's weeks before anyone else could tell. Photos on my profile.

IHeartKingThistle · 28/05/2013 10:17

No-one noticed until 28 weeks. I was miffed!

HopefullA · 28/05/2013 10:25

I am 16 weeks tomorrow and 5'9 inch and normally a size 12 - im starting to show, in that my normally flat tummy is def more rounder and harder.
Its so noticeable ppl in my office are commenting - i dont mind though i quite klike the little bump

calypso2008 · 28/05/2013 10:31

I am 5'9 and weighed around 9 stone at the beginning of preg. I started to look pregnant at about 7.5/8 months. I only put on a stone by the end and it all happened really fast in the last 6-8 weeks.

I lost alot of 'wine weight' Hmm I think, in the first 5 months! Also, eating really healthily means babyweight is compensated by losing the 'bed weight' if you see what I mean.

I think most first pregnancies are harder to spot aren't they.

Good luck and congratulations. Flowers Great thing is I didn't have to buy any maternity clothes too.

PumpkinPie2013 · 28/05/2013 10:54

Seems a lot of people didn't show this early on which is reassuring Smile I'll be complaining when I'm massive lol

Just tried to get a GP appointment to query the PGP but they have nothing for a week and then it's with someone I've never even heard of Sad

Don't know whether to just wait for my 16 week mw appointment or try to see her this week sometime? Feel like I'm mithering her though Sad

calypso i am so with you on the wine weight!

DogsAreEasierThanChildren · 28/05/2013 11:02

Don't feel you're bothering the MW - that's what she's there for! You have a health problem related to your pregnancy and you almost certainly need to see an obstetric physio - from what you say about your injuries that would probably be a good idea even without the PGP.

childcarehell · 28/05/2013 11:07

even with my 2nd I was past 24 weeks and size 10 before anyone noticed

PumpkinPie2013 · 28/05/2013 11:24

Dogs - I've made an appointment to see the midwife on Thursday Smile and also booked my 16 week appointment for two weeks after that hehe getting in there early!

I didn't want to just ring her as it's hard to explain and I only have her mobile number. She knows I have curvature of the spine so hopefully won't think I'm panicking over nothing!

This pregnancy marlarkey has made me the worst worrier ever!!!!

DogsAreEasierThanChildren · 28/05/2013 18:29

Good Smile. Hope she's helpful and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

RJM17 · 28/05/2013 18:31

I'm 15 weeks and have a clear bump already but think this is quite unusual. X

Wishfulmakeupping · 28/05/2013 18:32

I started to show around 22 weeks I think but wasn't until much later that strangers could tell I was pregnant and not just fat Iyswim

MyThumbsHaveGoneWeird · 28/05/2013 18:34

I have a theory that you don't really look pregnant (to other people) until your bump sticks out further than your boobs.

VisualiseAHorse · 28/05/2013 18:36

About 6 months I think. I kept my pregnancy secret for the first 5 months no bother, just looser tops!

My maternity jeans didn't fit until about 7 months, and they were all I wore for the last month!

ItCameFromOuterSpace · 28/05/2013 18:41

I started to show bump wise about 13-14 weeks worth my first pg and about 10 weeks with second. Obviously not a huge bump, but it was a defined pot belly type hard bump.

Excited85 · 28/05/2013 18:45

I started to show around 15/16 weeks. 19 now and definite pregnancy bump, looks like I'm going to be big!!

juniper9 · 28/05/2013 19:57

I'm 5'1 and size 8/10. I started bumping at 11 weeks and it was obvious by about 14 weeks.

I'm now 22 weeks and it looks like an alien growth. Only put on a few pounds so my body hasn't changed much, apart from this lump!
