Bodicea · 18/06/2013 18:04

lol bump not really. just seen a few on women.
Might need to take it out towards very end though xxxx

Bootyluscious · 18/06/2013 19:01

Hi all - sorry to dip in & out so sparodically, work is soooo busy.

Glad to see all is going well for everyone - time is certainly going fast!

On the subject of bellies - is anyone else's becoming a bit more, erm...hairy?! Blush I seem to have suddenly developed lots of (thankfully blond!) tummy hair eek! Tis odd.....

Pentagon · 18/06/2013 19:12

yay anda and black! So happy for you both!

welcome back janie, I bet you're all tanned and relaxed!

My belly has been pierced but I took the piercing out a long time ago! Are you keeping yours on ibip? I would think it gets uncomfortable towards the end...

I barely had any stretch marks during my last pregnancy, I got a few small ones after giving birth (probably because I didn't have the time/energy to put any cream/oil on Hmm); I have a few more this time round but I'm not too bothered to be honest! They fade away and are barely noticeable, I think (hmmm, hope...)

WillSantaComeAgain · 18/06/2013 19:33

I got a super long plastic one, wore it all tithe way through. I think I took it (and all jewellery) off when I went into labour, but it never got I comfy.

I'm not till 1400 on Friday. Boooo Sad

BumpKitty · 18/06/2013 20:10

well ibip I had to change my consultant appt as it was too near to the scan time and I said something about being bursting for the loo and the person on the phone said your bladder doesn't need to be as full for the 20 week one. But bod can probably tell us more (I'm a total bod groupie today!).
booty i haven't noticed any extra hair but i suppose if you get more on your head then why not elsewhere? incidentally my hair changed colour after my first pg I went blonde to dull brown :( and it hasn't gone back, DD is very worth it though.

Bodicea · 18/06/2013 20:42

I am not sure if is my paranoid imagination but sure I am getting a little bit of a tash - very traumatic for a natural blonde who never had much of an issue with facial before. my hair has gone horrid in pregnacy, really greasy and lank with fluffy bits at the hair line. uggh.

bump you made me giggle uncontrollably for some time! husband thinks I am insane. PS don't ask me anything about labour. I am as blissfully ignorant as the next person, oh except for what I have gleaned from one born every minute.
In answer to your question a full bladder is better at any scan. It is as not as important as the 12 week scan - which can be a total fail if bladder is empty. However if you have an empty bladder in any scan the sonographer can't see the cervix as easily making it more difficult to tell if they have a low lying placenta, velamentous cord insertion or any funneling of the cervix. Most midwives do not know this and I spend my life trying to "educate" them but they still persist in telling people an empty bladder at 20 weeks scan/growth scan is fine. Sorry to go into to to much detail but am on a one woman mission xxxx

shellsocks · 18/06/2013 20:51

booty they say hairyness = boy?! It was defo true with DS I had black man hairs on my tummy Blush I used to pluck them and leave them for DH to find Blush ha ha Grin

GardenWorm · 18/06/2013 21:13

Yuk! Not in his food I hope Shell?!!! Grin

GardenWorm · 18/06/2013 21:15

So who's going to find out what flavour baby they are having on Friday? Ooh i like a group scan, it's nice you are all holding hands together Smile

BumpKitty · 18/06/2013 21:26

i am garden and I think ibip is too. I'm pretty sure I'm having a girl, all the old wives tales point in that direction anyway :) and I think santa's is her 12 week scan. Are you finding out stitch?

IBelieveInPink · 18/06/2013 21:30

Thanks bod I love a good bit of detail! It makes it so much easier to remember to do if you understand why!! :)

Yeah I'm finding out. But also pretty sure is a girl!
Omg every time I think of it I get the butterflies. And the fear. Eek.

GardenWorm · 18/06/2013 21:49

I think mine will be pink too (but keeping it a guessing game until the big arrival) female world domination it is then! I understand the nerves as I will be the same but am going to take this opportunity to get excited for you all on your behalf Smile

IBelieveInPink · 18/06/2013 21:58

Thank you garden. Please feel free to. And by about 10am on Friday I will hopefully join you in being excited!!

Pentagon · 18/06/2013 22:29

ibip my hospital letter for the 20-week scan says "drink one and a half pints of liquid 1 hour before the scan - no milk or fizzy drinks"

anda enjoy the gig! I admire your stamina Wink I skipped a gig when I was 7 weeks pregnant at the end of March (I felt sick and exhausted) and one when I was 28 weeks last time (I just couldn't imagine standing up for the whole night) I hope you are in the seating area!

Good night everyone! x

IBelieveInPink · 18/06/2013 22:39

One and a half pints?! My tiny bladder will never manage that!!

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 19/06/2013 07:19

No extra hair for me when I had DS, but then no Linea Negra either.
I did quite like that my belly button popped as meant I could give it a good clean (am a bit obsessive of it having gunk in there)

WillSantaComeAgain · 19/06/2013 09:02

Yep, mines a 12 week scan, so just want to find out if its a viable pg first! Still in denial about the whole thing, and am being quite successful in forgetting about Frdiay.. Then it all comes rushing back and I feel sick.

I now have loads of questions for bod too, mostly slightly morbid ones about whether breaking bad news to women is the shittiest part if your job, how often does it happen, and how do you pluck up the courage to say something that you know is going to break their hearts. [sorry, I don't mean that to sound mean- I have so much respect for the amazing sonographers who have been so kind to me. But it must really suck as a job!]

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 19/06/2013 10:27

thanks for the reassurance on not cooking the baby!! i had a dopple last night and my wee squatter seems to be ticking away so hopefully all is OK

and i'm with you on the hairyness! i'm definitely a bit fluffier all over - i've had to pluck a few extras and i took the plunge an got my lip threaded (ooooooouch) as i was paranoid about moustachio! my bikini libe has also extended and i discovered some extra black ones down my inner thighs.

god i've just realised i sound like a monkey - delightful!

hope you enjoyed robbie williams last night anda. i'm heading to an outdoor concert in august and thinking about bringing one of those little foldy chairs with me, or at least a blanket to sit on. my lower back is already sore when i wake up in the mornings so i'm hoping it's not the the start of back problems. might start sleeping with a pillow between my legs...it's supposed to help i think

getting excited for all your scans on friday, lucky socks at the ready!

pumpkinsweetie · 19/06/2013 10:34

Oh my gosh i have started to get some funny vivid dreams, one about my dms ex absusive dh breaking into home with a gun!!! Another about being raided by men in balaklavas and then this morning an actual nice dream, still floating on cloud no9 about it, it was about Simon Baker the actor from that film 'i give it a year' omg it was brill lol Smile

santa you are must be due about the same time as me then, i'm 12 weeks friday! Well should have been 13, but my dates were out by a week, always the way with my pregnancies. Funny how they date it originally from your last lmp, you don't actually ovulate on your period!

My nausea is up & down, but more or less gone. My lastest craving is still cola, dairylea triangles and fizzy sour sweets!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 19/06/2013 10:50

pumpkin i am a sour sweet addict too at the minute! those sour fizzy astro belt lace things being my current fave! 3bags for a pound in tesco WIN!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 19/06/2013 11:19

Janie, I luff those astro belt things! Thankfully DH hates sour sweets so they're all mine, Tesco recently started selling pink & blue cola bottles but they're not that sour.

pumpkin, scary dream! And then lovely dream! I've not had a crazy pregnancy dream since I had sex with Jeremy Beadle...think I scared myself off dreaming!

Hope you had a lovely night anda!

Very hairy here, lady garden is attempting to make contact with belly fluff Blush this is my 2nd DS so hairy does mean boys for me.
No Isla Negra here Garden Grin

Shell, sympathies on the PGP.

I still feel a tad shitty when I bitch about pg woes, little voice says 'well at least you're pg', anyone else?

IBelieveInPink · 19/06/2013 11:46

Gary - yep. I have recently got massive. As in, I'm only 18+4 today, and people keep asking me if it is twins. So I feel huge. But then if I even slight moan, I think - would rather this than not preg! Scares me.

Weird dreams - I have been having all sorts! However dh's dream last night was even funnier- he dreamt that at the scan on Friday the baby was big enough to come now, so they took the baby out! When we got her home (yes, her) she turned into a giant ginger cat.
I hope this doesn't happen on Friday....

In other news, DH felt baby wriggle last night :)

GardenWorm · 19/06/2013 12:03

Ha ha Gary - Jeremy Beadle!!!! This reminded me of my plans to get a beagle dog and call them Jeremy just so I could have Jeremy Beagle in my house! Lol!

Maybe you will have a red head pink?

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 19/06/2013 12:07

omg pink that's the craziest dream!! i do have a big fat ginger cat and i call him ny first born (yes i am the crazy cat lady). i had a dream when i was about 6/7 wks pg that i brought the baby home in an old vintage pram and when i looked in it was actually my cat in a sleeping bag! wtf?!

i haven't had any good dreams since the ryan gosling one mmmmmmm that was a gooood dream!

and er...jeremy beadle?!?!?!? a girl in work once had a dream that she was going out with pat butcher ha!

pumpkinsweetie · 19/06/2013 12:08

Grin jeremy beadle Gary, bet you are glad you woke up lol?!
Mmm i'll get some of those fizzy belts janie, might send dh on a mission to get me some later Grin
