Ooh yes will be using lansinoh from the very start this time, didn't til I had weeping blisters last time by which time it was too late (I'm not meaning to put anyone off, we had some real feeding problems to start with, but it turned out ok as I've bf'd dd for over 2 years now and loved every bit from about 2 months onwards!)

bodicea well done for being brave! Definitely deserve plenty of treats for having to go through that every day. Lovely to hear about all the wiggles :-)

Won't need to buy much this time as kept it all from dd, but will I think treat myself to a stretchy wrap sling after the 20wk scan. Dd loved being carried in a sling but we only had a very old second hand tomy one to start with with loads of buckles, was v fiddly to use! Need something til dc2 can go into the ergo (love my ergo but am also lusting after a rose & rebellion now - gary which slings have you got?)

jmf294 · 16/06/2013 22:32

Definitely agree with the lansinoh!!
My daughter latched on well unlike my son who took about 2 weeks to figure it out. But I was still so sore with her, I remember biting my hand to distract myself from the pain. I also recommend seeing breast feeding specialists to make sure you are doing it right.
We got there in the end, I fed my daughter until she was 2 and then I had to tell her my boobies were broken and all the milk was gone. I only managed 6 months with my son- mixed bottle and breast feeding was such a mistake for us as it reduced my supply and ruined the breast feeding totally!!
Hope you have all had a good weekend- I am exhausted!!

GardenWorm · 17/06/2013 07:26

Shell did you decorate once baby had arrived? I commend you! Lol! I am eternally grateful for my nesting instinct which caused a DIY frenzy in our house, if it hadn't the place would still be a mess 2 years down the line....

Any scans this week? Pink I think? Was there someone else? X

andadietcoke · 17/06/2013 07:30

garden I'm tomorrow with someone else, blackholes maybe?!

Had a lovely day yesterday with a christening and then a meal out for my dad in Manchester. Still haven't decided what to do about Mamas and Papas. To whoever asked (stupid app) I'm 28 weeks tomorrow.

Happy Monday everyone. Have a good week Smile

IBelieveInPink · 17/06/2013 07:33

I was just thinking that too garden!

Yep, me on Friday. Counting down again, as usual. There is definitely someone else the same day as me too, but memory escapes me again!!

WillSantaComeAgain · 17/06/2013 09:50

Friday is a busy day - there were at least three of us. Me, Pink and??

.....

bumpkitty and Stitch

So a busy week! Fingers crossed its a lucky one. Getting really nervous about it and (in an effort to prepare mentally) keep thinking about how I'm going to cope when if its bad news.

We haven't had many new joiners from the TTC thread recently. Does anyone want to go and do some recruiting? I hope some of the long term residents can move here soon, but I don't want to visit as I don't want to make them feel sad.

IBelieveInPink · 17/06/2013 10:02

Aw Santa I'm doing the same, fretting over if/what will be wrong!! Friday is a big day though, with 4 of us. Group luck and all that!! :)

Maybe one of the recent joiners could pop back in and remind people we are here? Is always nice to see new faces.

pumpkinsweetie · 17/06/2013 10:30

Goodluck to all 4 of you fridaySmile
Still waiting for my NT scan to be posted, hoping it's soon as once i have had that done my anxiety levels should drop down a lot. Atleast i know there is one wiggly baby in there for nowSmile

Haven't bought anything yet, except from one tiny unisex disney suit from Asda, couldn't resist getting just one thing just to make baba seem more real.

Anda someone at my dd school has a bugaboo donkey, it's lovely, really eyecatching, it's the pink one and it's lush, would love it if i had twoSmile
I quite like the look of the Oyster, although i'm early on i do like a nosey at prams, keeps me positive!

Got my sickness back again today, 11.3wk today & seem to have a craving for coca-cola, definetly not good for my teethShock & a ravenous obsession for dairylea triangles aswell as sausage rollsGrin

Pentagon · 17/06/2013 11:05

dairylea triangles....yum! pumpkin you've just made me drool! Hmmm, maybe I'll get some for a mid-afternoon snack...Good luck with your NT results, I hope you get the letter soon!

4 scans this Friday?! Wow! I'll wish you all luck closer to the time, I hope you're all OK and not fretting (ha, look who's talking Blush...easier said than done, I know)

IBelieveInPink · 17/06/2013 11:18

Damnit now I want dairylea! Struggling a bit today, can't find anything I fancy. As a result, feeling a bit sicky - the stuff I usually love is not helping!

Pentagon- I am completely freaking out. As is standard. Would help if I was a little busier, but I'm really not today!! Urgh!

Pentagon · 17/06/2013 11:35

ibip I know! I think the lead-up to the big day is worse than than day itself...what can I say? Try to distract yourself...and in all probability, everything will go well

IBelieveInPink · 17/06/2013 11:39

It just seems like forever away! I know in reality it will come round quite quickly, but at the moment feels like weeks, not days! Wish it was tomorrow :) then I wouldn't have as much time on my hands to google bad things.....

shellsocks · 17/06/2013 11:54

God diy I don't know how I had but I'd forgotten abt the blisters and bleeding Hmm If you all ignore the masses of advice you will get from all sides then listen to us here....use the lanisoh from day one!!!

We don't need much either, double pram, Moses basket mattress, bog standard monitor for DS (new baby is getting the angel sounds) and some unisex sleep suits as this ones gonna be a surprise Smile

No garden my DH would laugh his head off at that, I am soooo organised its ridiculous....I got cracking after the 4D scan (abt 28w I think) and was done abt a week later Wink BUT in hindsight if you are really worried abt it then it doesn't need doing, DS was in the same room as me at all times until 6m (we used the pram carry cot downstairs when he outgrew the Moses basket) so it was really just a storage room for his clothes till then Confused

Lots of scans this week, anda good luck for tomorrow Smile looking forward to all the happy people Grin

I know how this is going to sound, but with DS I didn't stress abt the results of the 20w scan at all...I think it was cos I was so convinced that something worse was gonna happen and DS would never get here that it didn't enter my head to think of other issues Hmm My 20w scan is a week in Fri and all the terrible things that could go wrong are going round my head...maybe cos I'm less fatalistic this time I dunno, my brain is nuts Confused

shellsocks · 17/06/2013 12:08

Just thought I'd share this for all of us around the same stage....my book says baby is 5.1 inches at 19w and 8.7 inches at 20w....abt to get a lot bigger so I'm guessing our movements will become more noticeable Smile

IBelieveInPink · 17/06/2013 12:15

Shell - I think up to 19 weeks they measure head to bum, then 20 weeks head to toe. Hence the big jump! I could be wrong- but I made the same mistake on some measurements I was looking at!!

shellsocks · 17/06/2013 12:18

Ah yes! I only skim read it this time round (poured over every word like a mad woman last time) but did double check that cos it looked like a big leap and still didn't notice ha ha

BumpKitty · 17/06/2013 12:52

There is no way I could have decorated a nursery after DD arrived! I do the painting in our house and DD was limpet baby from day one, she didn't actually sleep in her nursery till 13 months! But I'm still glad it was all ready to go.
diy you can get an insert for the ergo for newborns, like a baby funnel! I don't have one so not sure how good it is. I have a moby wrap for the early days and I really liked it.
Argggghhh scan doom wave went over me then!

GardenWorm · 17/06/2013 15:21

Ooh Anda hope you can maybe possibly enjoy a little part of your scan tomorrow as you had one quite recently didn't you?

For those with scans on Friday don't forget on the TTC thread Fridays were our lucky days, BFP's all round! Smile It's gotta still be a lucky day for us all!

pumpkinsweetie · 17/06/2013 16:08

Got my letter for NT in post this afternoon, it's next thurs so don't have to wait too long. Going alone again as they have given me another ridiculous time again-School pick up timeConfused, oh well atleast dh will get a picSmile

andadietcoke · 17/06/2013 17:25

Ha garden you'd think, wouldn't you?! But no, I have pre scan doom. Because something could have gone wrong in the last ten days, and because if I relax and stop worrying something will inevitably (and immediately) go wrong. I know, I know...

I have a blinking barrage of appts tomorrow - whooping cough jab, bloods, scan, midwife and 'consultant'. I really really hope I don't get the bloke I cried on last time - he was a bit crap!

Bodicea · 17/06/2013 17:49

Good luck everyone having scans tommorow. I will remeber to be extra nice to all my pts incase any are you (obviously am nice all the time anyway) ;-)

Had midwife appointment today. Total waste if time as I was trying to touch base with local midwife as having baby in different hospital that most people in my area. Anyway she was from another area covering and knew nothing about the area am in. Argh!
But did get to hear hb :-)

Pink we measure head to bum at 12 weeks and don't measure length at 20 weeks. we measure head circumference, abdominal circumference and femur length.
We don't put any measurements of baby on the scan pics - the measurements on he right hand corner of scan pics are to do with our machine settings - including the depth we are scanning at - a lot of patients ask me if this is baby's measurement but it isn't.

Pentagon · 17/06/2013 22:12

Good luck anda and everyone else having scans tomorrow!x

IBelieveInPink · 17/06/2013 22:19

Good luck tomorrow diet. Will be thinking of you.

pumpkinsweetie · 17/06/2013 22:49

jmf294 · 18/06/2013 06:38
