Sorry just read your post mummy. I know it's hard but most of us have had spotting and it turned out fine. It's just a normal part of early pegnancy. I had red spotting a d that was fine too. It is shit when it happens though xxx

Mummytothearkbuilder · 25/05/2013 17:50

Thanks ladies - it's just so horrible to see. It hasn't got any worse through the day so I guess only time will tell. DH and I had a chat and if this is a no go then we are leaving it for a while - I just think we are both so scared. We are continuing to be positive I think we just need to have a plan if the worst happens.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend x

IBelieveInPink · 25/05/2013 18:15

Ooh bod that is the one I had been 'browsing'! Good to know! (I have no dc so am completely clueless!)

Okay tmi time. Does anyone else have really dry nipples?! As in, a little flakey? Is this normal pg symptom? Is this hideous cold weather finally getting to my skin? Or are my nipples going to fall off?!

LuckySocks13 · 25/05/2013 18:45

Pink I do believe I had a little of that the other day!

jmf294 · 25/05/2013 19:21

Zeux- thoughts with you xx
Hope things have settled for you now Mummy.

Bod- with the prams the bugaboo which I love does allow a child to sit up straight - my daughter who is now 3 can still fit in it. It is much bigger seat wise than the I candy. Silver cross is a nightmare for sitting up. I have had a silver cross pram, phil and reds and silver cross buggy before I finally bought what I had always wanted which was the bugaboo. I think it's one of the best but its expensive - but it's a lovely flat pram and then a comfortable seat when converted to a buggy. Plus you can change the colours- sightless pram obsessed here!!

Hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather and pregnancy anxiety is at a minimum.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 25/05/2013 19:49

Mummy- hope youre ok and the spotting is just normal xxx

I had the iCandy apple- think it's the biggest of the iCandy prams. Bloody loved it! Huge pram carrycot (which didn't use for long as dc wanted to sit up and see the world at about 4 months) and lovely big pushchair seat. Loved it so much and am quite sad we sold it!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 25/05/2013 19:50

Ps sold it because we converted to a pear when dc 2 was born and didn't like it, and bought a smaller pushchair for dc2 as dc1 was walking everywhere anyway.

GardenWorm · 25/05/2013 20:45

On prams/pushchairs for those of you that don't want to spend hundreds and hundreds I can very much recommend the Baby Jogger City Mini (about £250 and they do a double, won a few awards) it can be used from birth and I did on and off but I also recommend using a sling/wrap for when they are wee then they get to nuzzle exactly where they like to be and hear your heartbeat. Perfick.

shellsocks · 25/05/2013 21:22

mummy hope you're doing ok and there has been no more spotting tonight...hopefully it's just old blood and this is a stage you just have to ride out, so tough tho I know Hmm

janie fab the doppler worked Smile

pink I had that when PG with DS but not yet this time?!

bod sounds exciting! When are you gonna buy one? Can you ask her abt doubles please?! I think I want a tandem (so baby jogger out garden) but it's so hard to choose...thinking of the Phil and Teds as this will become a single again when DS is too old....not gonna go try out till after 20w scan but can't stop myself from googling Confused

BumpKitty · 25/05/2013 22:44

I second garden on the slings, DD would not go in a pram at all till she was at least 6 months (ditto moses basket, cot....) I had a moby wrap, a babasling and an ergo (all great for different stages).

Anyone know anything about buggy boards?

mummy hope its all calmed down for you now

bod you are very restrained :)

janie yey for the heartbeat

Mummytothearkbuilder · 25/05/2013 23:05

Hi ladies

Thanks for all your messages today - I really appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Seems to have slowed down a bit and there is nothing on the pad I have had on. Fingers crossed that's it - I was thinking that yesterday my scan was internal - do you think that could have caused the spotting?? Xx

BlackholesAndRevelations · 26/05/2013 01:43

Mummy- that's a possibility! Glad it's slowed down.. Fingers crossed.

Also seconding the sling suggestion- I have a moby wrap and a Rose and rebellion. Very excited about using the moby again (hopefully.......!)

Prams again- our apple was mainly bought by monetary gifts from different family members as it did cost an absolute fortune!

shellsocks · 26/05/2013 06:01

Urgh up at 5.15 to go and spend the day with the PILs on their holiday, I must be mad Hmm

bump no knowledge but I discounted a buggy board as DS will still only be 20m?

mummy really glad things have slowed, hope it stays that way today x

LuckySocks13 · 26/05/2013 07:45

Morning all. Happy Sun (ny day) ! Mummy , so glad it seems to have stopped. Long may that continue.

I have a Mamas and Papas pram to make use of again would love a new one but couldn't justify it!
I would love to try a wrap sling this time and have had a little look but there is soo many!
Hope your day is ok Shell! what an early start! Where are you off too?
Well as DS is still a spotty monkey I think we will be hanging out in the garden today! On the plus side he slept in his own bed!

Bodicea · 26/05/2013 08:24

Hello,
Weather is lovely but I have a raging headache that had since 4:00 yesterday. I never get headaches! Is this another pregnancy thing?
Hmm will have another look at bugaboo, she was very dismissive ofthat but another friend has one so will see what she thinks. It's exciting, like buying a car! But no will not be buying for ages I think. Don't think even she knows much about doubles shell!
I like the idea of a sling, apparently they are less likely to get flat head syndrome the more they are in a sling and out of any apparatus. Any recommendations?

BlackholesAndRevelations · 26/05/2013 10:05

Bod- as mentioned before, the moby is fab for little newborns. Holds them so snug against your body, like a constant cuddle! They do take a little getting used to (took me about three attempts to tie it on right) as they are just a massive expanse of stretchy fabric!

Stay away from baby Bjorns and the like, as they hang baby unnaturally by crotch. Babies also shouldn't be facing out (I'm no expert, perhaps look for a local sling meet? We have one once a month in one of the children's centres).

Headache- yes I'm getting terrible ones. Think I'm quite dehydrated though, as no matter how much I drink I still feel thirsty!

Feel sick today and quite ragey... Good signs.

Happy Sunday everyone xx

BlackholesAndRevelations · 26/05/2013 10:07

Oh just thought, think the newer baby bjorn has a wider seat bit so that the legs are open,.. They should be sitting rather than hanging. Legs out like a frog!

Sorry quick typing and lack of grammar!

Mummytothearkbuilder · 26/05/2013 10:22

Hi ladies no more spotting today but I just don't know what to think anymore - my boobs aren't sore at all and I just can't get it out my head that this one is all over as well.

I am going to phone the EPU on Tuesday but I don't think they will re-scan me any earlier - she said they wait 2 weeks to make sure you can see growth but wouldn't there be some growth in a week? X

BrieMonster · 26/05/2013 13:16

bumpkitty I just got a buggy board for my chameleon albeit 3 months early cos DS (just turned 2) refuses to sit in buggy or wriggles out completely. Had hoped it would appeal and mean I wasn't carrying him everywhere which is impossible anyway. Been somewhat successful and just need to hope that when I actually need him to use it daily he will. I read every review going and was a toss up between this and lascal maxi. Loads on eBay!

Zeuxippe · 26/05/2013 18:21

Thank you all for the lovely messages. This is my last visit to MN for a whole but I didn't want to leave without acknowledging all your kind words. They have really helped Thanks

baking I really hope things work out better for you than they have for me.

mummy I hope the spotting is nothing serious.

I'm aiming to come back online in August on the ttc post mc thread but will be thinking of you all in the meantime xx

LuckySocks13 · 26/05/2013 18:56

IBelieveInPink · 26/05/2013 19:48

Lucky, I was bleeding red at 13 weeks. Baby was fine - having a nap when they scanned me! Thinking of you, hope all is okay xx

LuckySocks13 · 26/05/2013 20:15

Thanks everyone. Seems everything closed for bank holiday so no scan :( they don't seem to really give to hoots! Am having to wait for an anti d injection then go home and see how it pans out I guess. Had to leave poor spotty clingy DS at home with my parents.
