Need to talk post birth knickers.

Any one gone for firm control sloggi type pants? Wondering if I end up with a c section will be regret the extra support or be grateful for it?

Im a size 18 already so primark cheap pants etc isn't an option for me.

Try Peacocks or M&s granny pants. You won't want control pants, you'll be feeling battered in that area. Up to the waist pants are best as they won't cut accross your incision and they'll hold your maternity pad in place.

Control pants? oh no, youll regret packing those!!
Personally i had a c section and i found the disposible knickers the most comfy around my abdomen. I had cheap pants 3 sizes bigger in my hospital bag and even the elastic on them were very uncomfortable. Your tummy will be sore whatever birth you have so the looser the better!

I had a section 9 Weeks ago and really wouldn't advise putting any more pressure than necessary.

Like you I'm too big for cheapy pants so i bought a pack of belly hugging granny knickers from M&s, 5 for £5.

They're rediculously comfy and i still wear then sometimes :o

Do you have a Matalan near you? They do 'Big Pants' for £2.50 (they actually do them in all sizes) and they are comfortable and don't fall down. Very comfy and ever so slightly supportive. I've bought them for a few friends during pregnancy/post birth and they've all raved about them. Not glam, but comfy.

Primark granny pants for me, you'll have big brick like maternity pads for 2-3 weeks and wearing them with control pants will not be much fun at all

You are all missing a very obvious trick here. After my c section my scar was numb and my own pants were rubbing on it and I couldn't feel it. I wore DH's pants. They were huge (came up to my bra) and lovely and soft and comfortable!

Primark have them in size 20-22 if any use? I know this because I have now visited my local branch twice looking for some myself, and that is the ONLY size they have in stock!

Size 18 here too and I bought asda granny pants . But the best thing to buy are tena pants . They are absolutely amazing for post birth . They will catch everything they won't leak or anything and they are so comfy on your bottom incase of stiches, piles etc . And they have a big elastic top bit so they are so supportive to your saggy tummy

(hope this is not your first I have not painted a very good post birth picture )

By pants I mean fitted boxers so you have somewhere to stick the huge pad but enough room to go right up the belly too, I'm also an 18 too btw so I order either large or x-large depending on where from x

Don't worry it's my second. Cant remember what i did last time. For some reason with this one I have a feeling it will be c section. I seriously hope I'm wrong!

I've had 2 CS and wore big pants - very comfy - and have packed them in my bag for 3rd.

However my SIL had recent stomach surgery and her friend had a section adn both of them are raving about some kind of control underwear that helps hold you together so you are more comfortable around the wound if that makes sense - have just googled and come up with this - which may be what they are talking about.

I bought cheap ones from Primark and regretted it when sitting up breast feeding at night. Every time I hoiked up or shifted positions, which happens a lot whilst trying to get the hang of latching a tired wriggly baby on, they rode further up my crack and irritated my stitched & piles! Ones with a better fit/ higher quality elastic would've been worth the extra few quid.

I was (still am) size 18 and after the birth i was fine in primark size 20-22 cheapo granny pants. Big pants are the way forward but i would pass on the tummy control.
