Which belly wrap would you buy? Help please!

Hi,

I've been looking into belly wraps for post-birth and having difficulty deciding which one to get (I have read all the reviews where there are reviews, but can't seem to decide ). Here is the short list. Which one would you go for or definitely not go for? (sorted by price)

It's former glory... We'll see! Was recommended by a physio friend so that makes me feel there might be something to it.

It is very common amongst many cultures, and lots of friends and family have recommended it! Just need to decide which one to get now ...

Why not just some tubigrip? I wore it for support during pregnancy on physio advice. Cheap and widely available.

Stiffybyng, thanks, I have some tubigrip too but I found it really uncomfortable during pregnancy and removed it after wearing it for a couple of hours.

Finally decided to go with number one as it had plenty of reviews on Amazon (with over 60% positive) and it was in the lower price range too. Just hope it'll be comfy to wear (as comfy as you can possibly get with these types of things).

I've got the belly bandit, really comfortable doesn't move and also supports your back. Not worn it every day like you should but makes your stomach look so flat so worth wearing just for "public appearances"

Ooh I think I could do with one of those. I have a bit of 'overhang' anyway so before I got pg I wore like a full torso one because it didn't ride or slide anywhere whilst I was running round at work, so maybe I will get the first one too as it looks like it will hold everything in rather than look like I've wrapped an elastic band round a balloon lol x

haven't used yet as am only just 31 weeks.

i live in a country wth lots of indian ex pats and my indian friends had already been telling me that tummy binding is the norm in india and they could send someone round to do this for me! so i am looking forward to getting mine on.

Thanks for the info, didn't realise you hadn't had your baby yet! I hadn't considered it until the physio I saw for SPD said that spanx would be good to bring the tummy muscles back in, as them swinging around would only make it worse. Seems to make sense and worth a try, but I thought a band was more practical than spanx, especially in the early weeks.

Out of interest can you see these belly wraps under your clothes? Thankfully I'm due in the autumn so will probably be able to hide the mum tum under layers initially. Hadn't thought about spanx, but interesting to hear physios recommending them. Not so sure about the early days though. Would love to hear people's experiences with belly wraps.

I've been researching this also. I'm going with the belly bandit (I've seen them cheaper on amazon I think about £45) but I have also researched resale price on eBay. The belly bandit sells for about £30 so overall costs you the same as the cheapest one.

I bought the first one on your list, OP. I didn't like it. It felt like wearing a bandage and the fabric distorted and rolled down. I eventually just bought a sports back support - this one and it seemed to do the job, although neither were massively effective because I only started binding at 7 weeks PP.

The back support is exactly the same as the belly bandit, I tried my friend's and it is literally the same thing but with a different logo on it! It is bulky but so is the one I bought first from Amazon.

If I have another baby I will be going the Spanx route!

So to be successful do the spanx/belly wrap need to go on as soon as possible after baby is born?! Is that when its most effective, or can you wait 6/8weeks after things have all calmed down?
