Aw lucky I've been like that today too. I went into town as I need a dress for a formal at the end of may. Wasn't sure what to get but found a pretty navy dress in new look maternity section that I can glitz up a bit. But obv now that I've got it, I'm panicking of the jinx! We're frickin crazy!! If it makes you feel better ill go buy some stuff on eBay now too Smile feels good! X

IBelieveInPink · 11/05/2013 18:08

Congrats on the scans ladies. I am so so pleased for you both :) x

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 11/05/2013 18:11

Excellent news Janie & Lucky !!

I always think the fanny cam looks alot scarier than it actually is. A whopping massive wand and they only stick the tip in - nit sure why it has to be so big and dildo like

I have walked miles and miles round Edinburgh today and suffering for it now. Very frustrating shopping for summer stuff when you don't know if you'll have a big fat bump or not.
Roll on my scan - less than 7 days now

I also started wearing my old maternity clothes after my 12-week scan as well as buying some new stuff and likewise, feel like I've jinxed things!! Madness, isn't it? x

DIYandEatCake · 11/05/2013 19:27

Congratulations lucky and janie! Enjoy the clothes shopping and cooing over the scan pics.

pink hope you're doing ok and no more bleeding.

pumpkinsweetie · 11/05/2013 20:04

Ooh lucky, so exciting ! And you even know the sex, lovely newsSmile

Midwife popped in today for a short while to get all my forms filled in before she takes bloods etc tue, blimey it's feeling all the more real now! Unfortunetly i won't be getting an early scan, so won't be seeing my little bean until the middle of June. Oh well, wait i must!
Found out my bmi is less than goodSad, looks like i'll be joining slimming world! Because of my bmi i will have to see a consultant this time round and have glucose tolerance test-worrying stuff!

BumpKitty · 11/05/2013 20:10

janie and lucky that is brilliant news, so pleased for you both :) (told you your one was hiding janie!)

ibip you poor bugger, I bet that 5 hours felt like a decade. But.. baby is fine thank god. Did you find your DH was a bit more understanding about the worry again after having a scare? Mine was/is. Roll on November!

blackholes i still have my positive test for DD and she is nearly 2.5! I can't seem to bin it though :) and good that your DH realised he'd been an arse!

mummy ace news about the CBD

Bakingtins · 11/05/2013 20:38

Glad you both got good news at your scans, ladies! Enjoy.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 11/05/2013 20:39

thank goodness the little monkey was hiding bump i confessed to the sonographer that i'd tried the doppler and she nodded her head in disgrace. advised me to put it away for a good month or so so i might do that to save my sanity. or ask dh to put it in the attic cos i'm a big fairy and never been in the attic cos it scares me!

jmf294 · 11/05/2013 21:17

Congratulations on good scan news Janie and Lucky and your results Shell.
Lets keep this good news happening ladies!!

I survived the soft play party- and no one guessed my news, well not that they told me anyway. My daughter had a lovely time and so much easier to let someone else do the catering and clean up the mess!!

GardenWorm · 11/05/2013 21:44

Fabulous scan news ladies, so very happy for you both! Congratulations Grin

Zeuxippe · 11/05/2013 22:12

Congrats lucky really pleased to hear your scan went well too!

Starting my own scan countdown now: 1 week and 6 days to go (i.e. blinking ages!! Aargh!).

Aoifebelle · 12/05/2013 07:50

Scan tomorrow pm. After spending the end of the week mostly freaking out, I am now feeling weirdly positive. There I said it. Maybe it is all the good news we have had on here recently. But but I am pretty sure there is something in there that wasn't there a few weeks ago. I feel things stretching and shifting.Oh please let me be right!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 12/05/2013 08:43

ooh aoife stretching and shifting sounds like a cert :) just remember the socks. i was surprised how much the ickle baby was wriggling about. i could have watched the scan screen all day. now i know why people buy dvds of their scans! eek got everything crossed for you for tomorrow! how many weeks are you now?

DIYandEatCake · 12/05/2013 08:47

Yay for the posifrickintivity aoife! Here's to a wriggly little baby tomorrow.

jmf glad your dd had a nice birthday. We had my dd's 2nd birthday at home this year and it was total mess and chaos, took ages to clear up, will be very tempted by outsourcing next year!

I'm feeling quietly positive too at the moment, maybe because I'm still feeling pretty sick. Still about 3 weeks to wait for my scan yet though. I'm feeling a bit grumpy with dp at the moment as he doesn't seem to understand that feeling like I'm going to chuck all day makes cooking dinner difficult. Do other people's oh's cook?!

Vixjane · 12/05/2013 09:16

Congrats on the scans janie and lucky!

ibip so sorry to hear about your stressful night but yay that your beans ok!

aoife fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow.

diy i'm with you on thecooking and sickness! DH does cook so will get on with but he's constantly asking what i want and gets annoyed when i say i don't fancy anything! He has asked for a roast today though!

Thanks for the advice re job interview, gonna keep schtum and see if i get the job. Will mention it if they offer it to me.

Aoifebelle · 12/05/2013 10:30

Glad the positivity has been well received, I am determined to enjoy this pregnancy in the brief periods when the neurotiscism subsides.
I am between ten and eleven weeks. My lmp says 11 but I had a scan which suggests closer to ten. Will know more tomorrow I suppose. Will get the results day before I go on holiday. Eeeeeeekkkk.
I am very lucky, my oh is a chef and he works from home. I barely darken the kitchen door. I am also two sizes bigger than I have ever been!
Vic if you really want this job, say nothing until the contract is signed. Some businesses take pregnancy in their stride, others don't. I work in a female dominated environment, with people popping outsprogs left and right, but I know of instances where managers have been really hesitant to offer jobs to pregnant ladies as they would have to hire again so soon. Protect yourself, no-one else will.

andadietcoke · 12/05/2013 16:52

Feel like I've missed so much! Yay for lucky and janie - so pleased for you both. And good luck tomorrow Aoife Smile

ibip your ordeal sounds terrifying - has it all calmed down now?

Lucky13ForBaby · 12/05/2013 18:09

My DH is a cant cook won't cook type of guy. He burns stir fry for goodness sake! Sending positive thoughts for your scan 2mor Aoife x

BlackholesAndRevelations · 12/05/2013 19:13

Good luck for tomorrow Aoife!!

My dp doesn't cook. He used to have a repertoire of one or two dishes- must reinstate them! I know what you mean about not fancying anything.

andadietcoke · 12/05/2013 19:17

My DH had cooking lessons (long story) but when I couldn't go near the kitchen I was treated to egg on toast, Domino's and fajitas. On repeat cycle! Have been okay since I've stopped throwing up, although that's been back for the last week. Such a treat!

Pentagon · 12/05/2013 19:56

Good luck for tomorrow Aoife! It's great that you're feeling positive (you too DIY) that's how it should be!!

I, on the other hand, am feeling rather negative... I have my 16-week midwife appointment on Friday and I'm already worried about whether there will still be a heartbeat...I was the same with DD, the worry never stops :-(

BlackholesAndRevelations · 12/05/2013 20:04

I'm a great big fat pig. Someone remove the huge bag of kettle chips please!!

Pentagon- hugs and hope it goes well tomorrow. I'm sure it will: posifrickingtivity

IBelieveInPink · 12/05/2013 20:10

Aoife - best of luck for tomorrow. I'm sure it will go well.

Thanks for all the good wishes. To be honest I am really struggling a bit now. The bleeding seems to have stopped still, apart from a bit of brown blood which is just leftovers I think. Still quite crampy/achy- which seems normal ish, but I am just in a panic about everything now. Can't stop crying and worrying about baby. I know I have been told baby is okay, but I'm just in such a worry that something will go wrong. Not sure how I will get past this, but like everything else, day by day I guess.

On DH's cooking, mine woo'd me when we were first together saying that he was a great cook, and his shepherds pie was the best thing ever (it is). What he didn't tell me is that this is the only thing he can cook!! :)
