Bump, late congrats on the scan, we did it the same way round as you, didn't find out for DS but found out this time. If we had a third/fourth/tenth I don't think I'd want to find out again.

My Braxton hicks have started ramping up (heat related) so very aware I'm pregnant now. The leaky boobs, big bump & fat feet obviously aren't hint enough for me
25+4 today so 3rd trimester in sight, as is mc due date....think I want to get a piece of jewellery (birthstone of mc?) to commemorate? Would that be weird?

zeux right there with you on the sickness/ hunger. I had to be weighed at my 12 week scan - it was not good news (despite going for a wee and taking my shoes off!)

janie I had no tests first time round, every now and again through my pg it would throw me in to deep panic that I had no idea if things were ok ( not that the tests guarantee that) combined with the fact we have DD to think of now I would want to know, as far as possible, if there was something wrong. It's crap you have to pay so much though.

gary sorry about the BH! Though they do say it makes labour quicker if you have lots of BH. Also, why would you not find out the sex next time? Is it a bit of an anticlimax? It's DH that really wants to know this time.

aoife sorry about the crap friends and sulky DH. Mine is sulky from lack of sex, I'm finding it difficult to care really!

Aoife my DH is a major sulker too and I feel the same way about it as you do, e.g. why?! It solves nothing. This morning I nearly blew up at him whilst he was lounging in bed (his job has fairly unpredictable hours and he's had a lot of time off recently) and he didn't even think to offer to help me make lunch/cup of tea etc and then I discovered whilst he was 'tidying't the bedroom yesterday (another day off) he put my work trousers under a pile of his clothes on the flooor - hello major creases. However I just kept quiet and did not say what I thought because otherwise he would have spent the whole rest of the day sulking. Men are so moody sometimes, even worse than us!

Well... in other news I have taken the plunge and hired a proper doppler, this in instead of a private scan, to reassure me before my 12 weeks scan, hopefully.

Ooh vocal where does one hire a 'proper' Doppler?! And how much is it?

Gary that's a lovely idea. I suspect I'll be marking my mc EDD avoiding Facebook and the media (ex best friend and Kate Middleton!). Do you have a charm bracelet? That might be a good way to start - the bracelet for the mc and then charms to celebrate all the happier moments in your life, past, present and future?

Dp and I were talking about testing for chromosomal things the other day and we've decided not to again (didn't for dd, but the nt scan wasn't available then so just declined the bloods). We wouldn't have an amnio, anything life-threatening would hopefully show at the 20w scan, and if we were given like a 1/20 chance we'd just worry and all might be fine. I remember worrying about it a lot last time but once we'd made the decision not to find out it was a big relief.

Still suffering with a migraine today, had it since Monday, paracetamol does nothing and I'm really struggling to keep 2yo dd entertained when all i want to do is curl up in a dark room. Had them a couple of times a week til 17w last time, didn't appreciate how lucky I was to be able to take the day off work and hide in bed then!

bump I've had excess watery discharge. How much is it? Is it dripping/soaking a pad or did it gush? If none of those then probably fine and just discharge. Hope they call back soon.

I have loads of (clear, none smelly) discharge...am wearing panty liners because otherwise it looks like I've wet myself hope it's nothing serious. xxx

DIY, migraines & toddlers do not mix! Hope you're feeling better soon, DS watches far too much tv when I'm feeling rubbish.

kitty - with DC1 I remember having (TMI) a lot of discharge from about 10 weeks. Had to wear pads otherwise I felt like I'd wet myself. It got better though, so hopefully that's what it is for you. Hope you get some reassurance from the EPAU though.

baking - hello! So, do you squeeze into 2013 or are you 2014? (Not that i know you want to think about it, but if you're taking the plunge anyway, you might as well go the whole hog). I squeaked into 2013 by a day... DC1 arrived 3 days early, so hopefully this one will (a) stick around and (b) arrive after Christmas but before NYE.

I'm feeling much more confident this time around - I think because I am already peeing three times a night, which I didn't for either of the last two pregancies. Now I'm just waiting for the MS to start - hopefully it'll be here by the end of next week. Never thought I'd say that!!!

Bump my midwife told me at my booking in app to expect some gushes and so long as it wasn't itchy or smelly then it was fine. I've noticed a wet patch a few times so wearing liners now. Hope it's ok xx

anda My MC EDD was the same as K Middy's - to the day :( It's still hard watching her get her bump, buying things etc.

Also there are lots of websites that hire out the priceir dopplers, I've gone for a Hi Bebe BT200, costing around £10 per month, it has a little probe thing so I think it will be easier to use than my angel sounds. I'm the woman who needs 2 dopplers! Crazy alert.

Hi all, sat in the hospital - was not expecting to be back so soon. I've had an internal exam and doesn't look like the fluid is coming out of my cervix. But they want to do a scan, the machine won't be available till after 5 so we are now just waiting.
Also the dr. that did the internal was none other than my ERPC dr. could have done without that particular coincidence

bump I?m with everyone else, lots of that for me too so hopefully all will be ok?at least you are getting scanned so you can have your mind put at rest

Bump, glad it's not cervix stuff, hope you get onto the machine asap.

It just doesn't feel as exciting knowing what sex the baby is, obviously all the blah about it just being healthy applies, but DH loved finding out sex when cutting the cord last time. I suppose they could always be wrong.

Hey Bump hope you are hanging in there. Doesn't sound like it is anything too awful - but really unsettling at the same time time. I hope you get some answers soon.

Everyone else, thanks for helping me through my crappy day. Now I just have to go home and face the Incredible Sulk. If he doesn't have a tongue back in his head, I think I might put him out the door for a while. See if that gets him a bit more communicative.

Santa yep. We were super close once, when I saw her in Tesco at Holyhead

Vocal and now she's having my buggy. In my unique, different colour. If I didn't love it so much I would consider changing the colour, and may still have to yet if it's sold out by mid June.

I'm in London today. I got offered a seat on the tube and everything (but not when I actually needed one and was stood right next to the priority seats. I've got a baby on board badge but it seems a bit needy for 21 weeks.

Aoif sorry you're having such a crap day. It really bugs me when people sulk, I just grab them and demand an explanation - I honestly can't stand it! I hope DH is back to normal tonight.

Can I ask for your advice ladies? Depending on what stage of your pregnancy you're at, have you stopped/when will you stop taking pregnancy supplements/folic acid? With DD I only took folic acid till I was about 13/14 weeks and then nothing at all. This time I've been taking the Solgar prenatal tablets but I'm about to run out and I'm really not sure if I need to invest in a new bottle. We don't need folic acid after 12 weeks, do we? But we need vitamin D? I have my 16-week midwife appointment on May 17th and not sure what to do till then...

Pentagon I'm 21w and currently taking ferrous sulphate, aspirin and vitamin d. I was on high dose folic acid until yesterday because one consultant had said to carry on, but yesterday was told there was no need after 12w.
