Twinges are really common Foody, I used to get them almost daily ranging from occasional cramps to repetitive sharp pains. Obviously I worried about every single twinge but I suppose there's an awful lot going on in there so you're bound to feel something. When you've had a bit of bleeding you become even more hyper alert too. Sympathies but I'm sure everything will be fine on Monday.
I thought it was just permanent dyes you had to avoid lying on your scalp so high / low lights sound better. Or semi permanent? I only ever use semi permanent and only die my hair once a year, so I'm not sure I should even comment! I stopped having highlights as I couldn't maintain them after DD1 was born, went back to my natural colour (which thankfully it turns out I actually like and strangely have no grey yet), plus grew it long enough to tie back!
Pineapple is rumored to soften your cervix but I doubt you have to avoid it. I certainly didn't. Peas? I've not heard that before but I do love pea soup, hmm.
I've never bought a book, the Internet has been a constant source of new terrors met all my info needs.
Keep my maternity hospital (very large one though) has a mw led unit opposite the consultant led wards. This means that if you opt for mw led care and things don't go to plan you can be transferred in a matter of minutes. I thought this was ideal, when I was admitted with DD1 I lasted all of a couple of hours in the mw led bit before needing induction and an epidural, at which point I was transferred across the corridor. My local town has a lovely mw led birthing centre but if you need a doctor it's ambulance to the nearest maternity unit 15 miles away, I wouldn't fancy that at all, but most people aren't as pessimistic as me and they do have a very low emergency c section rate.
Breastfeeding is definitely all worth it IMO. I'm currently still in bed with the baby who has been feeding and sleeping on and off since 5am and because DD1 is out with DH I can indulge DD2 and just enjoy lounging around with her. She is such a funny little thing, she grunts and snuffles like a piglet and then gives a big sigh and falls fast asleep again. What a life she has!
