Anyone had Fetal MRI at Kings--help me prepare...

Had a scan today (am 27 wks). Baby has severe ventriculomegaly, excess fluid on both sides of the brain. I've been told this could mean anything from absolutely nothing, to potentially severe brain problem or tumour. So am having MRI so they can get a good look inside the brain and see that everything is OK. At least I know it's not chromosone related, as I had clear amnio already.
I'm going to get a call in next 2 days or so to go to Kings for scanhas anyone been and what is it like? Is it as noisy as a normal MRI? I'll be going by myself as DH can't get time off and I won't be getting any results that daywill be going back to my own consultant for them.

Well, let them have it in no uncertain terms at 3pm and we will be cheering you on Arabica. This is just not fair of them.

It's the Kings consultant I am waiting to hear from--he's the only one who deals with MRI results and I have a horrible feeling he isn't at the hospital today. They don't notify my consultant at Homerton.

I'd be tempted to do a google search on his name and try to find where else he practices from then ring round

Spoke to hospital again, they confirmed that results weren't received yet from the lab and that my consultant wasn't in the hospital again until Tuesday. Even if i could locate him (I only know his first name) I don't want to chase him around his various other hospitals as it v much sounds like he hasn't even seen the bloody MRI data!
What do they have to do to process MRI results anyway?

I don't really know what they have to do with the MRI results. It took several days with mine, too, but mrsdarcy on here had them on the very same day. [question mark emoticon]

Thanks Marina, so do I! Sick of waiting. Worst part of the whole ordeal. Much worse than undergoing the scan itself, which really wasn't too traumatic.

Well, I just called AGAIN and was reassured that the relevant doctor is in the building today, and the receptionist has promised to get him to phone me between patients. So, sometime before 6 today hopefully. Will post as soon as I hear.
