A place to carry on chatting after a BFP and support each other through the stressful bits. I hope to see many new graduates appearing....

Deary me squiz you are not having an easy time of it. When I am stressed it always goes to my guts. That on top of bicarb would be a mean laxative.

squizita · 10/04/2013 18:51

Haha, so glad the Dr agreed 'don't ring NHS direct ring us' ... yup she thinks it's bad guts.

shellshock7 · 10/04/2013 20:53

garden yep feel very sick when I wake up Smile Feel worse as the day goes on tho, it's not MS but like 24hr! No actual sick tho.

2 more sleeps pink yikes! Grin

squiz hopes the runs have gone! Are you still just on the waiting game, what's your next appt?

DIY that's good that your GP is on side Smile how you feelin now, anymore cramping?

I can beat your jelly sweets squiz at abt 3pm yesterday (so mid meal time!) I made DH take me for a greasy cheese burger from a road side cafe thingy Blush was AMAZING!! Felt soooo sick afterwards tho Hmm

andadietcoke · 10/04/2013 21:25

Ahh, jelly sweets. By the way, tangfastics are exceptionally good at combatting all day morning sickness Wink

shellshock7 · 10/04/2013 21:28

Tangfastics are the best sweets ever Grin

squizita · 10/04/2013 22:05

I've an appointment Friday for a scan, last scan (ZILCH not even a dot in the tubes) yesterday - hence my hospital not freaking out. Have windy type pain one side then the other, and some sharp muscular pains now and then... the problem is, until it gets TERRIBLE who is to know if it's just pregnancy? Which I sincerely hope it is!! C'mon funny little sac, get a yolk and a pouch on Friday pleeeaaase.

andadietcoke · 10/04/2013 22:12

shell when things were really bad my evening diet consisted of tangfastics and sea salt and balsamic vinegar kettle chips! Now I can't go near the crisps - haven't tried tangfastics. I used to feel so sick on the way home from work that I'd have a bag of the kettle chips in the car (the multipack ones, promise) and then when I got home I'd be able to eat something else 'proper'!

andadietcoke · 10/04/2013 22:13

Oh squiz this limbo must be awful. I had really horrible pains early on - fingers crossed that's what you have.

shellshock7 · 10/04/2013 22:19

How far should you be on Friday squiz will they be able to say one way or another then? I've forgotten sorry, have you had any bleeding? I really hope it's good news, this must be so terrible for you Hmm

Zeuxippe · 11/04/2013 06:56

Hi squiz really hope things go ok, thinking of you x

Really stressing this morning as no symptoms. Aargh, what happened to achey boobs/ uterus? Went on a trip away for work yesterday and had to carry a really heavy bag around all day - hoping I haven't f*ed things up again.

JBrd · 11/04/2013 09:08

All fingers crossed for you, squiz x I think, after all the stress you've been through, I'd get the runs, too! Esp after taking bicarb - never heard of that, but knowing what it can do in cooking/baking, I can only too well imagine its effect on your intestines! Take it easy, if you can.

Zeuxippe I'm also worrying about having overdone it yesterday - went to the gym and did a weights class, ended up pushing myself maybe a bit harder than I should have... At least that's what I'm worrying about, I was still using less weight that I used to. #

The worrying never ends, does it? At least I feel relatively normal today, no nausea or anything. It's so random, one day I feel like something the cat dragged in, the next nothing!

But it's my last day at work today, yay! One more meeting to get through, and then freedom. Utter utter bliss Smile

Aoifebelle · 11/04/2013 09:26

I am in a foul mood this morning. Woke up too late for breakfast, my guts are in turmoil, and the top button just pinged off my coat. It has given up trying to restrain my insanely large boobs.

squizita · 11/04/2013 09:30

Thanks for your kind words folks. shell no, no bleeding, no pain above a 2 on the 1-10 scale ....even the ectopic site says not to panic... but you hear these stories about people who have nothing on the scan, no pain more than a stitch then BAM! They pass out in the supermarket and have to have surgery! Shock Oh dear, why am I scaring myself. Just hoping tomorrow they see a yolk sac, if they do they will relax!!

Jbrd and Zeux - I doubt a little bit of exercise will do any harm - back in the days when people toiled the fields or ran away from woolly mammoths we'd alll have been living tougher lives pregnant or not, so one gym session or bags shouldn't make a difference I would think?

JBrd · 11/04/2013 09:37

Shitshitshitshit - just been to the loo, and I'm spotting Sad It's brown and def looks 'old', but I'm having to try very hard not to freak out right now...

Lucky13ForBaby · 11/04/2013 09:58

Ahh JBird how unsettling for you. How many weeks are you? Would you be due a period around now? Any sex? (Sorry tmi) no point saying Sony worry as I know we all would. Hopefully no more now though xxx

squizita · 11/04/2013 10:51

Jbird - oh dear, what a scare Sad - although remember many early pregnancies have spotting and are fine, so hard after MC to remember this but it is true. Can you get hold of your EPU for reassurance? It looks old so hopefully it's just some old spotting and will pass!! Keeping it all crossed for you!! Hugs!

JBrd · 11/04/2013 11:06

I'm 7+4, which I think is too early for the EPU. Plus, we're going to my SIL's wedding tomorrow, so nothing can happen in terms of being checked over before Monday anyway. I think I will have to sit & wait Confused. Fortunately, I only work half a day today, so I will try and rest this afternoon...

Lucky Just checked the calendar, and strangely enough, yes, I would be due a period around now, does that correlate at all?

andadietcoke · 11/04/2013 11:08

JBrd I had brown spotting from 6w to about 8w on and off. Brown is good. Promise. However, ring the EPU. If you need to [bod close your ears] tell them you've had some pain as well.

Spotting is really common in early pregnancy.

shellshock7 · 11/04/2013 11:19

Jbrd our EPU will see you from 6 weeks...if you call they could get you in this afternoon?

IBelieveInPink · 11/04/2013 11:37

Oh jbrd how freakin stressful! Just went you were having such a nice day too. :(
Our epu sees people from 6 weeks as well. Just FYI.

DIYandEatCake · 11/04/2013 12:03

jbrd hugs, hope it stops soon, that's so stressful, could you try to get seen this afternoon?

squiz, good luck for tomorrow, hope all is well. How many weeks are you?

zeux, not much in the way of symptoms here either, we're still early days though. I'm feeling much better today as no more cramping.

Lucky13ForBaby · 11/04/2013 12:17

JBird - I have heard that break through bleeding in early pregnancy is common and often around the time a period would be due. My early pregnancy unit saw me around 6 weeks and I go back next week. They may see you today if you are worried or book for you to go next week.

My symptoms seem to have disappeared a bit today :( boo!

Aoifebelle · 11/04/2013 12:18

Hang on in there JBd. Agree with others on here, it may be worth a go getting into your EPU. When I had a scare last week, on advice form ladies on this site I rocked up at my GPs not expecting much, but I was seen by a doc and refered to the EPU and seen all inside a few hours. I had assumed I would be sent away to wait as I was so early. Was definitely worth it.

squizita · 11/04/2013 12:44

Hi yes I agree with Aoife my local NHS is the same - will try to see you ASAP. Also JBird it is common to have 'fake' brown periods when pregnant... you know those women who go to the docs thinking they're 1 month down and they're 3? That's how it happens. My mum had it with healthy twins.

DIY I am 6 weeks exactly tomorrow, the consultant just wants to see a yolk on the sac and he'll be happy. At the moment it is too early to tell if it's pseudo or not! Though my bloods are good and high... too high to be outside the womb several people have told me (and even the consultant says "I would usually hypothesise uterine with these bloods..." though he never says all clear 'till he sees a yolk, being careful). The sac is an odd shape though so we will see.

Pentagon · 11/04/2013 13:57

Hi everyone, mind if I join you? I have been following this thread for a while (and it's given me a lot of encouragement) but didn't dare write till now...I had my 2nd early scan on Tuesday so waited to see what that would show - thank goodness all's well.
So, my story: this is my 4th pregnancy. My first pregnancy was a MMC (5,5 weeks discovered at 12-week scan), followed by a successful pregnancy which resulted in my beautiful DD. When she was about 1,5 we decided to try again, got pregnant but unfortunately it was another MMC (7,5 weeks discovered at 12-week scan). It took us 4 months of ttc before I fell pregnant again (which felt like an eternity and got me quite worried as it had previously happened immediately - all 3 times!) I had a scan at my local EPU when I was 6 weeks (was referred by my GP who is lovely and very understanding) because of my previous MMCs. To our surprise we saw a heartbeat and everything was fine so the EPU dismissed me. I was happy for a couple of days and then started worrying again. I really wanted another scan before 12 weeks so when I got to 8-9 weeks and started panicking I happened to come across a mumsnet thread on the Harmony test so I decided to have it done - firstly, because a close family member had a child with Down's syndrome about a year ago (didn't find out till the baby was born...really traumatising) and secondly because you get a viability scan when you go to have your bloods take (so you kill 2 birds with 1 stone :)). I had it done at the Fetal medicine centre at Harley Street and the offer is still on - I called them last week and had my appointment 2 days ago. You basically pay £180 for a viability scan and bloods on your first appointment and then have a nuchal scan at your 2nd appointment 2 weeks later (which is when your get your Harmony results back). The catch is that you need you have your bloods taken when you are between 10w and 10w 5d (or 10w 6d, I don't remember exactly, unfortunately - I think it's the former though). If you are later than that - i.e. say you had a bad combined test result from the NHS and then decided to go for it you have to pay £400 for the Harmony test only. If you think that for a simple viability scan you pay an average of £75-£100 I think the offer is well worth it. So I had my scan which put me at 10w 5d (a bit further ahead than what the first scan showed) and the doctor really took her time and explained everything. I was so relieved to see a live baby and hear that everything looks well! Then I had to wait for 5 min before I had my bloods taken, then paid and left. I'm going back in 2 weeks' time for the nuchal scan (and I will have the NHS one the following day). I would definitely recommend the FMC, everyone was lovely and the reassurance I got was invaluable. I am a lot more hopeful and optimistic now that I am 11 weeks but of course still slightly worried about 12-week scan and blood results (both Harmony and combined test at the NHS). Anyway, nothing compared to the stress/dread of the last few days/weeks. I'm sure everyone in their the 1st trimester feels the same, it's so unnerving, isn't it? For the record, with my 1 successful pregnancy as well as this one (it's too early but looking promising) I had spotting at around the time I expected my period and then brown blood during weeks 5 and 6. With the 2 MMCs I had nothing at all...anyway, sorry for the long post, good luck to everyone in the early days awaiting scans and congratulations to whoever has had good news recently!x
