Congrats mygirl. Am having a slow day today. The toaster blew up this morning and I sick to death of buying cheap ones that can't toast properly but at the same time refuse to spend tonnes of money on something that simply makes toast Grin

Wills · 01/05/2006 16:45

Hadn't meant to press enter. Little one has been quiet today. Still get scared when he does that. Have eaten some chocolate and he's moved but even so its distinctly quieter than normal so I've got nervous. I've also suddenly felt very panicky about being ready in time for his arrival - a sure sign that my hormones are beginning to pick up pace. last time dd2 was born 10 days later. No need to really panic but a sure sign that at long last things are starting to warm up.

I fully understand nerves before scans. Best of luck to both of you.

How are the bh's Diddle. I had about 7 in a row that were blooming painful but then everything went quiet. I think its to do with the fullness of my bladder.

desperatehousewife · 01/05/2006 16:56

I've got my nuchal scan this thursday and am really nervous. Have had a few days this week with 3 bits of bad news and I just don't think I can cope with any more! Really not enjoying this pregnancy which is such a shame. Sure i'll feel more positive and relaxed if and when I get a good result after my nuchal.

Sorry for moan.

oinker · 01/05/2006 17:32

DHW.....
I am sure you and baby will be fine.

I know what it's like not enjoying the pregnancy. I also wish I could just settle into things. DH has told me not to stress about not enjoying it. Easier said than done. The best way to get thru this is by talking about all your worries and getting advice and reassurance from us lot on mn. It has helped me so much. You always think your alone until you ask for help. I owe so much to everyone on here.
Be strong......You will get thru this. Smile
At this stage I would say, 'Go get a drink!' but you can't, so go have some chocolate or whatever else is as sinful. Wink

bless you oinker!

Am cooking sausage, mash and onion gravy for supper tonight - that will make me feel better! Just want to get thurs out the way.

Ooooh, nearly bedtime for ds! Yippieee I can veg infront of tv then!

cori · 01/05/2006 17:57

Hi everyone, I am fine no news on the baby front. BH seem to have slowed down again, get a few twinges every now and then, nothing big though. I had a bit of a panic last night, thinking everything is going to go wrong at the last minute. Secretly wished I had opted to have a ceaseran in the first place, the baby would have been born by now.
Had a listen with doppler this morning, HB seems fine.

cori · 01/05/2006 17:58

Wills, midwife advised me to drink ice cold water to get baby moving again.

twocatsonthebed · 01/05/2006 21:40

so term for wills, and 12 weeks for dhw - that's great for both of you.

dhw - completely understand about the scan - I think once you've had bad news from one they will never be reassuring. The first scan I ever had was when they discovered my m/c and since then I have always had to explain myself to the sonographer as am nearly hyperventilating by the time I lie down. But I'm sure they understand this too. Will be thinking of you on Thu (and Oinker too tomorrow).
And I'm very jealous of you cooking sausage and mash - I am still feeling too sick to cook anything more demanding than a bowl of muesli. And I'm over 13 weeks! Will this never end?

hope everyone else is feeling dandy - and cori, hope baby gets moving soon!

Arabica · 01/05/2006 22:49

I always get worried with any scan or even the midwife listening for heartbeat. I just don't think I will ever relax in this pg. Have got a scan on Weds in fetal medicine unit to check everything is OK.
Cori & Wills, the race is on!
Oinker, I have had a wind-free day today but you wouldn't have wanted to be downwind of me yesterday!

cori · 02/05/2006 07:08

Argh, have been awake since 5.00 am. Must put up those bloody blackout curtains. It is my last chance to sleep after all.....Angry

HellKat · 02/05/2006 07:11

Morning all.
Oinker- good luck today hun!!!! Thinking of you.
How's everyone on this gorgeous sunny day?

diddle · 02/05/2006 07:59

oinker - you are a nutter!!!! Grin Good luck for your scan today, thinking of you.

Wills - congrats on getting to term, are you feeling impatient yet? do you want it here now. i do and i'm only 34 wks. The BH are still coming, sometimes more regularly than others. They're not really painful although when they press on my bladder they do make it very uncomfortable.

Mygirl - congrats on making it to 12 wks, its a reassuring milestone to pass.

twocatsonthebed - i had MS until around 14 wks then it stopped suddenly, it was a good day. I was only actually sick once, but its just as annoying feeling sick. So glad its over. It will pass.

Morning HK - Glad you're feeling better and your bug has passed. Feeling ok today, worn out, had a busy weekend, with little sleep, had the in laws here for the BH which was nice but meant me and DH we're on the sofa bed, so we were awake a lot fidgeting about.
Baby had a slow day yesterday, and some bloody ignorant woman banged her elbow right into my belly yesterday, which had me a little worried, silly cow didn't even notice she'd done it, as if i'm hard to miss!!!! Doppled baby when i got home though and its fine.

HellKat · 02/05/2006 08:15

Ohhh you poor thing!! What an ignorant btch!! That really psses me off. That's why I don't let ds2 walk on his reins throw the twon. People bang into him and not even a word of apology is uttered. Makes me see red.
Hopefully you'll geta restful night tonight hun.

oinker · 02/05/2006 08:44

Diddle, you should have boofed her back..Angry

Just popped on to pay a bill but couldn't help myself.Smile

I am going to shower and get ready for my 10am appoitnment. I've got butterflies. Gotta go alone again as DH is on his course. Sad
I will be back on later.
Fingers crossed.

Good luck sweety!!!! Here's to a big fat beanie looking at you Grin

mygirllolipop · 02/05/2006 08:53

Morning, I see we're a bunch of worriers (when r we not?).
Oinker - you prob will be nervous for every scan but most of us are. I'm nervous for Fri even tho I've already seen it and my bump is visible in the morning before I pee!
Diddle - that annoys me too. I got it a lot when I moved down here, ppl bumbing into me. And the way ppl won't let you put you kids the fursthest away from the road and they're just one middle-aged person why do they need to be furthest away from the road arrghh!
Got loads to do housework wise. Hoover packed up so got loads of that to do. DH been really revising for exam in a few weeks, so bins need emptying and dishes need doing, then he decides yesterday to put 3 loads to the wash (his work clothes that he expects done and dried etc for today!). Also gotta pick some photos up, and get a few bits (wipes, fabric conditioner etc) and also DH new glasses broke yesterday so need to take them to the shop! Can't do that til this afternoon when I have the car. Well there's my moan over!

mygirllolipop · 02/05/2006 08:54

Can't believe I didn't say good luck oinker, sorry, good luck babe for the scan.

Fabmummy · 02/05/2006 09:22

hi all, I am 7+2 after an early m/c last year so really really nervous about everything.
Also now found out about salami and cured meat(cannot believe I missed this one) and have eaten some at the weekend in Spain so panicking about toxoplasmosis.

HellKat · 02/05/2006 09:44

Welcome Fab.
Tbh I'd chill out about the meat. I've eaten basically what I like with all of my pg's apart from the main dangerous ones (blue cheese, raw eggs, liver,). Prawns, tuna etc I've consumed them all lol Grin. I feel so sorry for first timers now, I'd be terrified of what to and what not to have.
Incidently with ds2, I craved salami straight from the pack, sometimes wrapped around a gherkin Wink

desperatehousewife · 02/05/2006 09:48

Don't worry about it please - us and america are the only countries to worry so much about uncooked meats and soft cheeses - can you imagine the italians, French and spanish worrying?

My consultant said to me if it were as easy to get rid of a baby as simply eating some unpasturised cheese and salami we'd not have such stringent abortion law in this country. He has a point!

For your own peace of mind why don't you avoid uncooked meats and soft cheeses until after the preg - that way you can minimise the worry you will be feeling anyway having had a m/c.

please don't worry. And welcome too - i'm quite new on this thread - i'm just 13 weeks and terrified! I had a still birth in November at 25 weeks. I hope you find this thread and all the lovely women on it as positive and supportive and helpful as I am!

Fabmummy · 02/05/2006 09:51

thanks guys. its great to be able to talk about things like this here. My dh is treating me like a china doll at the moment and I know if I mention too much to him he will panic more than me.

desperatehousewife · 02/05/2006 09:53

lucky you FM - my dh seems to barely remember that i'm pregnant! grrrr

Wills · 02/05/2006 10:13

DHW - The French don't eat soft cheese, well Parisans don't. They too are told not to do it along with wine. However I totally agree with the principle and oh boy does salami around a gherkin sound good Grin. Possibly with a bit of mustard??

Good luck Oinker.

Cori - thinking of you. What aspects worry you about not having an elective cesarian?

Hi all.

diddle · 02/05/2006 11:17

welcome fabmummy, you've come to the right place, you'll find plenty of support here. STay well and please feel free to let us know if you're worried about anything.
I avoided all the usual stuff rot he first 12 weeks or so until i knew baby would be a bit stronger and since then have had most things in moderation. although salami sounds gross, pregnant or not

slinkstah · 02/05/2006 11:21
