When did dc2 arrival compared to dc1? Truth in the rumour they come earlier?

DD arrived on her due date, wondering if that means (as rumoured) that DS will arrive on due date or earlier?

Any experience that refutes/ confirms the myth of baby arrivals?

I don't think this is true. My mum went over her due date with my oldest brother, on her due date for my sister, I was over my due date, my 2 younger sisters were over their due dates and my youngest brother was born 3 months early.

Also my auntie had her first 3 weeks early and with her second she went well over due date.

I think they come when they want.

1st DS was 10 days early, second DS on due date! Nothing predictable about children!

Hi, both mine were late; dd1 5 days late, dd2 7 days late (but only had a 45 min labour and she was born at home!)

DD was born 37+1 - I'm now 37+5 with DC2, not feeling remotely close to the birth happening, think I may go overdue this time! Hoping to avoid induction tho...

DD1 arrived 9 days late, DD2 took us by surprise and turned up 3 days early.

Dc1 came 4 days early. Still waiting for DC2 (40+2). Which is currently making me feel more overdue than I actually am!)

I feel 'overdue' already comeonbishbosh - because I was mentally prepared for this baby to come when DD did. I am having to keep reminding myself that I am not even due, let alone overdue, for ages yet...!

DS came at 38+3
DD came at 40+4

The last two weeks of pg felt very long - was convinced she'd be early like DS was :)

DS1 was 6 days late, DS2 was 3 days early, so it was true for me, but I know others people who had it the other way round.

I went into labour at 40+3 with both. DC1 took 2 days to arrive and DC2 took 1 hr so the day on which labour started was the same but the day one which they were born was different!

But with ds1 I was on maternity leave and putting my feet up, not doing an awful lot. With ds2 I was looking after LOTS of children (3 of them aged 1 and under) as a childminder now and still had my ds1 to look after when not working so I think circumstances play a part too.

My mw kept telling me that second babies always come earlier than the first but I don't know anyone that thats been true for - sorry op! It will come out eventually

DD was born 2 days before her due date and DS 1 day after, but he was only 3 hours late otherwise he would have been bang on time. My dad asked my secret as to why both my babies have been so punctual they clearly take their time keeping very seriously!

DD arrived at 37+5 after waters broke and a quick and easy 6 hour labour.

I gave birth to DS 3 days ago at 40+9 after being induced and had quite a difficult longer labour!

Mine have all cooked for longer than the last...
