BadMissM · 21/03/2013 17:53

Congratulations Knicky!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wine Thanks Thanks Thanks Welcome long-awaited little Luke!!!! Hope mother and baby are doing fantastically xxx

Scarecrow Yay to being spoilt by work colleagues! Yay to it being your last day at work...about time!

Mrs W Chairman Hang on in there!!! It will be your turn soon! We need that hat-trick of babies asap!

Sparkly Have a wonderful holiday! I know not easy with DH, but everybody else seems to be positive about the pregnancy...and at least he's not saying he's leaving now....MIL may prove to be an ally if it blows up on holiday....?

ChairmanW Haunted fanjo? 'titters'...

Me, on a hunt for shelves so I can remove all the crap the stuff from the spare room so there is room to swing a cat room for my LO, and so I can decorate. All shelves found either stupidly expensive or tiny.... Spare room looks like a clothes explosion as I am a recovering clothesaholic rather like clothes and now have to manage to fit all of them elsewhere...somehow. We are a billion miles from anywhere sensible, like IKEA....

scarecrow22 · 21/03/2013 23:29

Knicky what a wonderful way to end my day, logging in to your beautiful, happy news. I too love the name and am hoping you are resting, he is feeding well and you now have time and space for family bonding.
I will sleep with a smile on my face for you Smile

My team were so wonderful - everybody came for dinner, a card and stunning richly scented flowers and a spa voucher - they even found a voucher for one v close to home. But most of all just happy they all made the effort to be there and wrote such kind things in my card. Am a contented lady, and now have blissful DD time tomorrow and all weekend til Tuesday as we going off for a long family weekend in Weymouth. And maybe time to start thinking about the LO in peace.

Goodnight little Luke; take care all, especially Knicky, MrsW and Chairman.

knickyknocks · 22/03/2013 04:46

Oh gosh ladies to read so many wonderful messages from everyone is completely overwhelming. Felt tearful to read them all. Thank you it means so much.

I'm doing ok, though have an extremely sore undercarriage as had a small episiotomy. Pretty much had the full complement of birth interventions after they insisted on breaking my waters because of the unusual heavy blood loss after the sweep. Syntocin, epidural, ventouse, and then the episiotomy. Not quite the birth plan I had in mind. But you know what? It's fine, we're both safe and sound, and I was up and about only after a couple of hours. So I guess I'm saying that even if you may have lots of intervention you should feel OK fairly quickly.

Luke is just scrummy. When I've finished this post I'll try and figure out how I put a photo of him on my profile page. He seems such a placid boy. I've managed to get him to latch on a couple of times, but have given him some top up too as wasn't interested in my last offering.

scarecrow you made it Smile Your leaving present sounds wonderful as does the weekend away in Weymouth.

I hope MrsW is off the starters blocks and well on her way now.

Chairman - little one obviously is very happy in their little house, but am hoping that an eviction notice is soon! It doesn't sound that it's going to be very much longer at all and I keep fully expecting to see some wonderful news from you too.

If it's OK with you all, I'm going to hang around on this thread a bit longer, (but will be introducing myself on the grad thread too!). I feel so at home on this thread, but can't wait to read each and everyones wonderful news when their time comes too.

Much love all, thank you again. You've absolutely made my day with your posts.

somewherebecomingrain · 22/03/2013 09:31

knicky so what is he like? What colour is his hair? Has he got super pudgey legs and arms or skinny-pudgey legs and arms? Fat tummy? Chubby cheeks? Hope that's not too many questions, no need to answer if busy. How is dd doing? Impressed that you were up and about 2 hours later - this is why those vbs are so desirable. I totally agree on the other hand that the birth is a bit irrelevant as long as you are both safe and sound. Smile

AFM i have deflated my tummy by avoiding salt and replacing gaviscon with porridge and milk. Also bought a support belt. Much better. If anyone ever in the same boat.

scarecrow what a lovely send off and thoroughly deserved - now for some blissful leisure.

Mrs w and chairman gone a bit quiet ................

Xxx

MrsWooster · 22/03/2013 14:43

Still nothing doing here. On second pessary so waiting til tomorrow now to see if anything happens. Fairly miserable- tried to get them to just get on with it and break waters but they won't , being cautious. I miss my boy...

somewherebecomingrain · 22/03/2013 16:02

Commiserations msw I remember that no mans land when the pessries dont work and they want you to wait of all things! it really is awful. The last place you want to do more waiting is the hospital. I think the slower they go the more chance of success so here's hoping it comes soon and powerfully. Thinking dilatory (?) thoughts for you x

notsoold · 22/03/2013 16:39

Baby Luke welcome to the outside worl!!! Knicky glad you and baby are well!!!

Mrsw...fx everything will go well really soon!!!

Chairman..hope you are well!!! Xxx

Sparkly... Holiday!! How lovely. And wonderful DMand DB are giving you so much love!!!

Jbrd I am here as well hun!!!

Just had a private scan today . finally the dates agree with me and all is well in the world. 9+0 good heartbeat and roll on the 12week scan!!!
I found out that the hospital is starting to do the harmony test. Actually they collect the blood then it is sent to London , then America.
Because DH is adopted he really wants some sort of screening(?) Re trissomy.
I will try to enjoy from now on. Will try very hard to not think of what could go wrong....

Xxx to all of you

Hey notsoold fantastic news ThanksThanksThanksThanks

BadMissM · 22/03/2013 19:01

Greenwitch How do you think I knew?? (smirk) Fellow Susan Cooper fan and druidy type too! Wink

Scarecrow Sounds like you had a lovely time with your team, and it must give you a lovely warm feeling to be so appreciated...

Knicky Lovely to hear from you so soon! Bugger the birth plan and following it as long as you and Luke are doing well.

(Have just realised am going to have to get much cleverer phone or internet device-thingy before LO arrives, otherwise won't be able to tell you all!)

I'm just so glad everything went well for you despite it all, and that you both seem happy and content Thanks

MrsW Oh damn...still not moving??? Sending positive thought vibes!

Notsoold I had the Harmony Test. Was well worth it. Fantastic news about the scan xxx

Any news of Chairman Wow?

I spent all day in search of shelves and tidying-up things (and may have fallen victim to some cute baby clothes in Boots too...) May have got a bit carried away and had my card shamefully rejected in front of the queue in Aldi Oops!

DH sweetly let me have a (cheap) flat screen monitor so can use the big PC and actually back up my knackered laptop....

Might have to eat beans for a week!

Freeeeeeeeeeeeeezing here. Rest of my house toasty, living room like the Arctic....think rubbish tiny radiator and unsealed windows the culprits...will have to hassle landlord!

ChairmanWow · 22/03/2013 22:08

Ay up! Just checking in. It's been a bit hectic last couple of days with bathroom fitter still not done, me in some kind of soap opera between him and his evil boss who is being nasty and weird. Passes the time of day I s'pose. Decorator here too so the house is anything but calm.

Baby Wow is still very much in residence. She's nestled really fr down though. I keep getting tightenings. I'm just not going into bloody labour! Got an appointment at the hospital on Monday and I want them to give me a brutal sweep!

knicky I'm well jel! Sounds like a little sweetie. Hope he's feeding like a good 'un but topping up is definitely the way to go. Give him a squeeze from me.

mrsw I'm sorry you haven't got going. How frustrating for you. Hang on in there - it'll happen and baby W will be here before you know it.

scarecrow -freedom at last! Must feel amazing after the stress and scary deadlines. You are owed some serious pampering. Congrats on finishing. Hope you get some time to wind down before the next bout of craziness starts.

somewhere glad to hear you're deflating! I'm hoping to gently deflate after madam finally makes an appearance. Wishful thinking! Serious exercise needed!

notsoold that is amazing news. Things are sounding really positive now. Congratulations.

somewherebecomingrain · 23/03/2013 08:24

chairman also sending you dilatory thoughts. You're exactly a week over surely they must have an induction booked in? I'm going to miss out on that waiting this time but I remember how frustrating it is - you can't do much. Having said that, it sounds like you are achieving actually!

AFM I achieved watching Twilight on the couch yesterday afternoon with curtains drawn. As a pregnant woman should. It was pants but I enjoyed it.

Re midriff pain I was so sure I'd solved it yesterday but it came back. My new hypothesis is its the kick ass Andorra panache bras I've been wearing. Blush have tried my primark soft bras but still hurts. My j cups may have to swing loose and free for the next week and 5 days Confused

Hope you others are not catching the snow as we are in London

Xxx

somewherebecomingrain · 23/03/2013 08:28

badmiss glad you are getting some it upgrades - yes you will need good connectivity to patch us in as your pg progresses. hope your life is a bit calmer after the latest bad behaviour of the ex xxx

knickyknocks · 23/03/2013 10:45

've managed to update my profile page with the picture of my lovely new DS.

somewhere yes,he's got a full head of dark hair which was surprising as DD had almost no hair when she was born and what there was of it was blonde. He still seems incredibly placid, only waking to feed and be winded. Long may that continue! He also is happy to put in the moses basket when he's on the verge of falling asleep - so nothing like how DD was, who would insist on being held all night as a newborn and refused the moses basket for months on end. So, although the placid-ness (if that's a word??) may not last, he already has signs of being incredibly different to DD - and am hoping that the sleeping thing continues!

chairman oh love, it starts feeling so desperate towards the end. You ARE nearly there whatever happens. My suspicion is that you will be like the lady who was in the bed next door to me. She went from 3cm to fully dilated within about 45 minutes- baby arrived 9 minutes later. PS Careful what you wish for with that brutal sweep - mine was incredibly brutal! I guess it got things going of sorts though.....Grin.

sparkly things sound a little better with regard to DH not leaving or anything but your holiday sounds as if it could be tough. I do hope that it's all bearable. I'm thinking of you.

notsoold wonderful news Thanks

MrsW I hope things have got a move on.

Got to go. DD is creating merry mayhem in the kitchen......
