Blueberry good call on extra tests. I went to FMC and was best 300 quid we ever spent for extra reassurance. Look forward to hearing how it goes.

Cycle, let us know how it goes on Sun.
Hello to every one, new joigners and almost graduates ! I can't keep up but very glad to see more Mums joining. JBrd, so sorry, if you are still reading, don't give up, miracle does exist.
Sparkly, your DD is so adorable, I have been thinking of you and checking from time to time.
BadMiss, tout va bien ?
Have been very busy, lone parenting for the past 2 weeks with a lively 4.5yo and a sick 8 mo baby and new job. Too much on my plate atm.
Xxx

Scarecrow, good to hear from you, you sound very happy and relaxed. I hope all is well, and your DH is behaving himself.

Cycle, I hope all is ok and your BP will have returned to normal by Sunday. It's good they've picked it up and are being thorough with you.

Hello to BBD, DD has her off moments too of course, but is still excited, and it's good to be able to talk to her about the baby. Of course she told everyone at school on Monday, which I knew she would and the main reason I held off telling her. But everyone's been lovely.

Good to hear the bleeding is settling down blueberry. I had a bit of bleeding at 11 weeks and was convinced it was bad news, especially as I hadn't had any nausea. It's such a relief when you find out everything's fine.

I saw an consultant this afternoon. My m/w has referred me just because of my age. He said everything's normal, even my BMI of 26 he's not in the least bit worried about. My BP was up though, but I was feeling extremely tense as they were overrunning so I thought I was going to miss DDs birthday celebration at school, and I've been struggling through my most stressful Open University assignment ever, so I wasn't surprised. He's going to see me at 38 weeks (hopefully no need before) to "make plans" about the birth as he said they definitely won't let me go overdue, which almost certainly means a late August baby, not so good for school.
I've had to discuss dates with DH, I haven't seen much of him or DD this week as I've been on lates, but I also spoke to his boss (with his permission) as I couldn't see him getting round to it. DH did comment about LO being an August baby and thus being the youngest in the class, as he didn't know the due date til now. This is the first non-negative comment he's made, but of course now it's public he's having to acknowledge it a bit. It's obviously getting to him as he came home from work (he was on a late) and pretty much went straight to bed, barely speaking to me.
Sorry if this is TMI, but we have been having lots of sex, mainly initiated by him, I think it's a way he feels he can communicate if that makes sense, but he didn't really respond when I suggested it, and we haven't done it for nearly a week now due mainly to my work schedule, so I'm not feeling very cared for. Sorry for the ramble, it's been a stressful & knackering week.

Hi to MissM, animol, soopermum, rosiedays, iclaudius, notsoold and anyone I've missed.

sparkly not sure how to update stat, could you pop me in just under bad miss!!( i'm 43 DD3 due 23rd July(ish))
My DD1 is an august baby, she has a 2-1 from de'montford! I did private school her from 9 and she did take a year off after gcse and retake most the next year. she survived. This one i plan to home school (well beach school reallyGrin)
cycle hope your ok and taking it easy..... enjoy your peek inside the bump tomorrow.
scarecrow OOch to the sore bits... it's about the only thing i remember about my other births.... the sore bit's afterwards Enjoy your snuggles.

hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

AFM. been a long week of being a lot of things to a lot of people, next week will be more of the same. do feel i've not given bump much attention this week,(forgot all about her loads of time, and shocked myself when saw my reflection+bump in the back door) finished shopping for' hospital bag' and everything baby / I will need in first couple of weeks which has made me feel better (spent twice what i'd planned though) just waiting for car chair and pram thing from friend now and i'm all done!
DH Passed his life in the UK test today which is a great relief as it's not easy and he hate's failing ( picture rest of w/e spent under the quilt in the bed) now we can hopefully get Visa sorted in time to take LO back to see his family

Hi Ladies

Can I join your thread please? I am 43 (as is my DP) and last week got my first ever BFP after trying to conceive #1 (for me anyway also have 2SC) for 9 months GrinGrin.

We had just been for a consultation at a fertility clinic and been told that DP?s sperm was sluggish, I only have only one working ovary and my ovarian reserve is a shocking 1.3. I got by BFP the same day they gave us the test results so a bit of Shock all round.

I have been POAS every day since 10DPO to check the line has been getting darker (it has ? yay!) and tracking my temperature but realise I must stop this carry on at some point!

  • pleased to see you here!

Thank you everyone. BP is down so all is fine. It is very reassuring how thorough they have been. The baby is fine and head down so that's good. I have to see the consultant on Tuesday and hopefully I will be boring enough that he loses interest and lets the midwives get on with it Grin. The midwives at St Helier have been absolutely brill. I was also quite re-assured that the bed on the labour ward (where they did the test) was really comfy, contrary to appearances! I could have quite happily curled up for a nap Grin. Instead we caught a train to Ashtead and went for a lovely walk on the common.

Hi greenlizard Congratulations and welcome Smile

That's great cycle

Welcome greenlizard !

rosie wow beach school sounds fantastic - wish I'd gone to one!

Got my 12 week scan tomorrow - feeling a bit nervous - if everything's OK (and I guess even it isn't) we plan to tell the kids on Wednesday and then the rest of the family and then friends - bit scared about everybody's reactions (I'm imagining lots of 'another one?!', 'at your age', 'was it an accident?' etc, etc)

sparkly I'm not sure how to update the stats but mine are:

Animol, 42, DC5 due 13th November

cycle am so relieved for you. Another SW London-ish fab 40, too! We've nearly got an NCT group (minus the judgey pants, though my group was lovely and totally unjudgemental).

Take good care now.

Sparkly DH better in some ways, still bloody awkward and not v nice in others. He is obviously bonding with DS, and is ace with DD, but v difficult with me, and reading between the (few) lines still resentful. Don't really want to gum up thread with it, but hope your DH is kinder to you. I also recommend having somebody in RL you can confide in, and poss setting up a good support network before LO born to help you both through that adjustment period. I'm sad this is slightly hanging over what should be such a joyous time, but he is a wonderful father and I believe it is worth working for.

On a cheerful note, am doing first day, 7am to 6pm, on my own and I can safely say it can definitely improve! No, seriously, apart from some v difficult behaviour from DD this morning when BFing and she got bored, has been lovely morning and they are both napping now while I drink fresh hot tea and eat chocolate roulade by way of celebration!

hey cycle fab news, still can't believe how quickly the time has gone.... we got our BFP's the same week and your 5 weeks ahead of me!!
welcome greenlizard It must be a wonderful feeling to get what you wanted so much, i hope you have a nice easy time.
scarecrow sending you a Brew although i'm sure you'll be fine. I had 2 under 4 but it was 20 years ago and no matter how hard i try i just can't remember it at all (probably for the best!!)
animol fingers crossed for tomorrow. Thanks

i'm going home this weekend and decided to tell everyone this baby was planned, tried for and is very much wanted (which she is now Smile). I know what my home town is like (small, gossipy and nasty) and the funeral i have to go to will be all people from my life 20 years ago. I have a very different social circle these days (thankfully) and am resented a bit for being the one that got out and 'made it'. The only one i had any time for is the friend who died. ( I respected her a lot and rented my house to her. her DD's are my DD1 sisters!!!)

Excellent news cycle, what a relief.

Welcome green, glad you found you're way over here, & excellent news your lines are getting darker each day. Fingers crossed!

Notsoold, thank you for thinking of me. I hope all is well with you - how many weeks are you now?

Animol, I hope all is well at your scan tomorrow, thinking of you.

Scarecrow, hot tea & cake sounds well deserved, I hope you enjoyed it very much - congratulations on getting them both to nap at the same time. You must be relieved DH is bonding with DS, I'm sorry he's not being nicer to you.

We had a very difficult evening on Saturday, as DH still does not want the baby, but is beginning to accept that it's going to happen, I think as he's starting to talk about practicalities, mainly where stuff is like car seat, cot etc.

Updated stats list:

Blundermum 40, DC2 due early May?

Hello fab news cycle so pleased
Pleased could someone add me as aged 45 and due on 29/7 so a few of us round that date. I will get my bairn sooner hopefully as start growth scans next week!
Rosie my dc1 is August bab and at Cambridge much to my delight although finishing this year. Bring young made him a real worker which seems to matter much more than innate intelligence if you ask me!

This baby should according to me be an August birthday and I'm delighted but I think I go against the consensus !

After that, I've spent today feeling grotty with period like cramps and (very) pale pink discharge. I'm going to phone the maternal assesment unit in the morning. Not too early, if I can help it, because I don't want to go in and have to come back before my consultant appointment! If it weren't for the appointment tomorrow, I would have called today. It might be just that the MW was a bit over-enthusiastic locating the head yesterday and will all settle down tonight. Fingers crossed!

Hope you're OK cyclecamper

Had my scan this morning - it was lovely :)

All bits present and correct - baby moving about and heart beating - the ordinary scan showed a nuchal bit of 1 to 1.2mm so we'll leave it at that and not have the full nuchal test.

Feeling very relieved and slightly kind of in awe - oh my goodness it's real now - I think we are really going to have another baby............
