Trying to be quick...
Woke up early, blood and irregular low tight pains. Baby moving fine

Previous 2 pre terms at 30 and 32 weeks. Under consultant care, no cervix left and is open. Had steroids for baby's lungs last week.

Spoken to unit who said to go in but lady was horrible made me feel like a time waster. Really don't want to go in, don't want to waste my time or theirs plus I have a business that reopened today afyer our Christmas break and we are going to be busy.
WWYD?

Go in. If something is happening its better you are there than work

RooneyMara · 27/12/2012 09:17

Oh no brainer, darling just get yourself in to maternity unit.

GOOD LUCK xxx

Homebird8 · 27/12/2012 09:17

That lady can be dealt with at a later time.

Go in. If all is well and you can go home we'll all be happy for you. I think your pregnancy is making you try to avoid a threat (difficult lady). Over-ride, given your history, and get checked.

Good luck Thanks

EMS23 · 27/12/2012 09:18

No question, go. Remember your notes. Good luck x

HDee · 27/12/2012 09:20

Are you nuts? You can't possibly be for real.

If you are indeed real, get to a hospital before you give birth to a very premature baby on your living room floor.

AlphaBeta2012 · 27/12/2012 09:24

Go in!!! There really isn't a choice!

AlphaBeta2012 · 27/12/2012 09:24

Go in!!! There really isn't a choice!

CrackleMauve · 27/12/2012 09:30

Go in right now if you haven't already. Then complain about the attitude of person you spoke to.

iamstitch · 27/12/2012 09:36

Thanks, I'm just leaving. I know it's the right thing to do but I'm stubborn as anything and have always had a really clear sign that I had to go in before as my waters went first with the others. This just got me confused!

GO!

Don't worry about the person you spoke to, some people are just abrupt on the phone, your baby is much more important than a grumpy receptionist.

HDee · 27/12/2012 09:40

Sounds to me like you have clear signs:

  1. Bleeding
  2. Irregular tightenings
  3. Effaced cervix
  4. Dilating cervix
  5. History of premature births.

How many more signs do you need?

inadreamworld · 27/12/2012 09:44

GO IN. Also bleeding could be from placenta so they need to check baby ok asap. Ignore idiot on the other end of phone.

RooneyMara · 27/12/2012 09:45

It was the word blood that was enough for me. They always tell you to go in if you have any blood loss.

Good luck pet. I hope all is well x

inadreamworld · 27/12/2012 10:58

I had a small amount of bleeding when went into labour and it was coming from cervix and baby was fine - but any blood loss needs to be checked out - glad you are going/have gone in to hospital.

TinkyPeet · 27/12/2012 11:01

Good luck hope everything's ok xx

bugoven · 27/12/2012 11:44

RileyTheLittleMonster · 27/12/2012 22:34

Good luck, hope you and baby are well Smile

iamstitch · 28/12/2012 11:54

Thanks for all the advice. We went in and saw a junior doctor who fobbed us off and sent us home saying I was fine.

My waters broke at 6.30 this morning and I'm in delivery suite waiting to see if contractions kick off. Have so for resisted the urge to shout 'I told you so'.

EMS23 · 28/12/2012 16:08

Good luck iamstitch, I hope the baby is healthy and strong.

LaCerbiatta · 28/12/2012 16:15

Just out of interest why were you not put on strict bed rest if cervix is gone? Isn't it proved to slow down prem labour?
