Hi all,
I've got my 12 week scan tomorrow. I'm very nervous and hoping all is well. This is 3rd pregnancy but 1st baby, so a little anxious but also excited too. Especially as I have a proper little belly now. Anyway, can anyone tell me approximately how much a scan picture costs so I can get my cash out tonight?
Thank you Thanks

I think it was £3 for two photos at my hosp.

Take change with you as if it's like my place they have a machine where you purchase a token, which you then give to the sonographer.

Good luck and enjoy! Smile

ISeeThreadPeople · 28/11/2012 12:47

Depends on the area. Phone and ask. They are £3 per pic here. Nice sonographer woman gave us 6 for £3. Grin

SandyChick · 28/11/2012 12:50

Ours were £2 each. There was a token machine Angry. They give us quite few still tho.

Ellypoo · 28/11/2012 12:52

It's £5 at my hospital, although some of the sonographers will give you a couple extra :)

2lazyboys · 28/11/2012 12:52

I always forgot to take cash with me Blush

They never refused me the pictures though and I gave them £10 at the final scan.

Good luck and congratulations Smile

Shaiandbump · 28/11/2012 12:54

£3 seems as tho my sonographer was a tight arse and only gave us one ;/

princesschick · 28/11/2012 12:55

Fab. Thanks ladies. Thanks I saw a token machine in the corner of the room when we went for the booking appt and wondered what it was for durr Blush

I need change for the rip off car park anyway, so I'll break a note tonight.

Nice work ISee Any magic words?! Grin

Not sure who's more excited - us as prospective parents who've been TTC for 3.5 years or two sets of prospective first time DGPs, who will no doubt want the 'photographs' of their first, erm our first, baby!

£4 here. At our first scan with DS we got 3 photos, this time round we only got one! I feel sad that this one will have fewer scan pics in their scrapbook than DS does!

QueenofNightmares · 28/11/2012 13:08

Was £1 each with DD1 never stopped the sonographer giving us loads though with this DC different hospital its just whatever donation you want to pop in the tub in reception.

Dogsmom · 28/11/2012 13:21

Mine were £5 each, we could pay cash or card in the machine.

MimsyBorogroves · 28/11/2012 13:24

With DS1, £3.

With DS2, £10. Far more affluent area though, but I was absolutely disgusted. Well, I was until I went for my second scan and the bloody lovely lady tucked 4 photos into my notes, ignored DH getting his wallet out and said "ssh, off you go"

Iceaddict · 28/11/2012 13:28

Ours were 2 or 3 pounds each, but got loads of them as they just printed loads off and they didn't charge us for any that were unclear but they were still worth having to us. Good luck tomorrow it's lovely to see your baby Smile

magicpainting · 28/11/2012 13:29

£10 at our hospital and you have to put in a machine and get a token before the scan. At my recent one, I got bad news (had to have a termination as baby not compatible with life) and when you get bad news they then give you your money back at reception!! I did mention to them that it was a bit insulting to be given your money back - like a refund for bad news!

magicpainting · 28/11/2012 13:31

oops - sorry, just realised about you being nervious - what happened to me is very rare and I'm sure everything will be fine. I was and am still shocked about being handed a £10 note back as if "I hadn't won the prize" though.

Marzipanface · 28/11/2012 13:35

10 pounds! But it's ok cos they take credit and debit. I wish I had waited and bought the ones at the 20 week scan as they would have been clearer.

The last hospital I went to it was just a donation.

Dillydollydaydream · 28/11/2012 13:41

When I last had a scan 3 yrs ago the pics were £2 each.
I also have my 12 (13.5) week scan tomorrow so I'll have to see how much they charge now. Also need to sell a kidney to pay for the carpark Wink

lookingfoxy · 28/11/2012 13:51

I remember about 8 years ago it was just a donation, think I gave them a couple of quid and was given 2 pics.
Yesterday had scan and was heading out the door when sonographer gave dp a pic, I totally forgot about it and money wasn't mentioned Blush

Trishstar · 28/11/2012 14:10

In Birmingham city hospital it's £5 for one or 3 for £10 xxx

DeathMetalMum · 28/11/2012 14:25

Dd - £2 per photo the sonographer asked us to pick the best photo and we could have and many copies as we wanted

Current Bump - £5 , sonographer printed out a selection of the shots they tppk during the scan we got between 4 and 8 photos. One amazing photo of babys hand.

Two different hospitals first photographs we on proper (thicker) photography paper and much better quality as they will last longer. But second lot obvoiusly get more choice.

DeathMetalMum · 28/11/2012 14:26

Oh and yes take coins both have been putting the coins in the machine for tokens or similar.

OpenMindedSceptic · 28/11/2012 14:28

£5 each, but they have always given me an extra one, without asking.

weeblueberry · 28/11/2012 14:41

Are you ladies all in England? We're in Scotland and didn't have to pay for our photos at all?

£5 per photograph here in yorkshire

BoomBoomBoom · 28/11/2012 14:58

Ours are £2 each. The sonographer never charged us for the 1st one as it was an emergency scan as the DR's thought I was Miscarrying and we believed we wouldn't be able to see the HB.

I am now 30weeks and the same Sonographer has done all of our scans (5 of them) :o
