in my left side like someone is stabbing me with a hot poker for the last 48 hours - no temp & my blood pressure is normal. not spoken to anyone prof yet as dont want to cause a fuss. have also had a yellowish/greenish discharge. baby is still tranverse so could it be growing pains? the pain wakes me up.

cookies & cream for anyone who can offer advice to a very worried mummy to be.....

Please go to a&e. Can never be to careful when ur pregnant!

Marne · 24/11/2012 16:41

Phone the Maternity ward and explain what is happening, they might want you to go in to check you over. Good luck xx

CaroleService · 24/11/2012 16:42

Go in NOW. Could be a placental abruption (I speak form experience).

LoopsInHoops · 24/11/2012 16:43

go in right now.

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 24/11/2012 16:46

Please let us all know your ok. Please go now and get yourself seen and don't be fobbed off u want a full check over! Good luck. X

TeaandHobnobs · 24/11/2012 16:48

As others have said, go in right now, or at the very least call the delivery ward / your midwife and explain what is happening. You need to be checked out, and if there is a risk that you might deliver prematurely, getting the steroid injections as soon as possible will massively improve your baby's chances.

Please call them / go now!

purpleraindance · 24/11/2012 17:02

thanks guys, have phoned the out of hours midwife & waiting for a call back :'(

Use the time to get ur notes and a Change of clothes together in case U have to go in. If u don't hear back soon just go in anyway!!! Don't wait too long and if u r unhappy with anything she says then don't be afraid to go and get Urself checked out.

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 24/11/2012 17:50

Did they call u back yet?

purpleraindance · 24/11/2012 17:53

yes & told me ive probably overdone it so to have a hot bath & rest. just hope the paracetmol kicks in soon as although am not screaming in pain its stopping me from sleeping :'(

TeaandHobnobs · 24/11/2012 17:55

Hmmm did you tell them about the discharge? How is baby's movement?
If it continues, don't be afraid to call back / go in anyway - much better to be overcautious...

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 24/11/2012 17:55

That's not really an answer is it :( she can't be sure she never even examined u . Don't accept that. Go get checked out. Maybe she's right but u cannot diagnose over phone.

MrsBungleBear · 24/11/2012 17:58

With that colour of discharge OP you should go in. I am really surprised they didn't want to check you. I agree with the others, just go in anyway.

RooneyMara · 24/11/2012 18:17

You could have an infection, that's obvious if she knows your symptoms and you should be there having swabs taken and also if the pain is that bad it could be a kidney infection or something else quite serious.

please don't take this person's answer and run with it - you NEED to be seen probably yesterday! Can you get to hopsital?

lovethesun1 · 24/11/2012 18:20

Totally agree that with pain that's stopping you sleeping PLUS coloured discharge, you need to see someone & imho it's not something you can leave until Monday. Go get checked out-please!

MimsyBorogroves · 24/11/2012 18:21

I would advise you to ring again. If you get fobbed off with the same answer, go to the hospital - it really sounds like you need to be checked out.

RooneyMara · 24/11/2012 18:24

Pain for an hour wouldn't have me so concerned, I've had various odd pains every time, but for 48 hours and it's waking you up AND you have nasty discharge, it's a no brainer Sad

PLEASE go and be seen, you could be at risk, and so could baby x

thixotropic · 24/11/2012 18:37

Speaking as someone who had complications from wk 28
And spent a lot of time as an in patient, seeing lots of mums to be come and go on the ward at all hours.

get to hospital now

Don't take no for an answer.

thixotropic · 24/11/2012 18:40

Hope you are both ok.

iamwhaticallpregnant · 24/11/2012 19:23

purpleraindance · 24/11/2012 20:37

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 24/11/2012 20:55

I had a transverse baby and yes I did get pain in the side ( although the right hand side as baby didn't like the left) so in itself the pain would t worry me too much. But the discharge is concerning. Green ish discharge can be sign of infection. Please don't think you are making a fuss. That is what they r there for!!!

myhandslooksoold · 24/11/2012 21:08

Please go to hospital, my friend had an infection and ended up having her baby at 28 weeks. He is fine now thank heavens. She ignored the discharge she had in the week or so before labour, thinking it was part of normal pregnancy symptoms. Greenish yellowish does not sound right at all.

wifey6 · 24/11/2012 21:28

Completely agree OP with what many/all the replies say..do get yourself checked out at hospital. You know your body so do not be fobbed off if you feel dissatisfied with what they tell you.
Hoping you are ok & all is well.
