Am I in labour?

I'm 38 + 2.

Period pains started Friday morning. Ease up a little with paracetamol which I've constantly been taking but then come back.

Have vomited once severely but no tummy bug symptoms. Eating as normal.

Today the pains are a bit more severe.

Am I in labour? I'm so confused and a bit worried now.

Tis I, Princess ::Twirls:: Grin

There will be baby snuggles very soon! Slight back pain eh Tea you know what that is :) Good luck to you and Kali

kalidasa · 27/11/2012 10:42

Pains quite nice and regular this morning - every few mins I reckon though haven't actually timed them. They are not very impressive though. And they were pretty regular all yesterday morning and again yesterday evening as well so I am not at all convinced yet.

I ordered loads of stuff on Amazon yesterday - DVDs to watch and things to do over the next week or so - as I decided it was best just to reconcile myself to being stuck like this for a while longer.

Ooh Kali it does sound like a good dose of early labour to me :) get ready, eat and rest if you can.

FestiveFannyFarts · 27/11/2012 15:12

Oh how lovely a triple labour thread.
28+3 here so a bit to go for me but it's all very exciting listening to you all.
Fingers crossed baby's arrive soon

kalidasa · 27/11/2012 15:14

Pains have almost stopped again. Really, I am never going to have this baby! How about you tea?

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 27/11/2012 15:17

Tea has been suspiciously quiet today :)

Kali they will start up again, I promise, I really really do.

Woken up at 1.15 by a big pain, 90 mins later and they're coming every 10-15 mins. Not very close together but definitely more intense. Fingers crossed it is finally happening!

Trying to hold off waking DP as he was pretty shattered.

FestiveFannyFarts · 28/11/2012 06:33

How are you now kalidasa ?

TeaJunky · 28/11/2012 08:50

Oooooh Kali...how are you lovely?

Hi ladies, mind if I join the chat. I suspect I'm a bit further away than most of you at 37+4, although dd came at 36.
Been finding it much harder to stand up let alone move as baby seems very low in my pelvis.
Lots of discharge this morning but no loss of mucus plug or contractions. Last time I didn't have either of these until the very last moment. dd was born 90 mins after my 1st contraction and about 2hrs after waters broke.
I feel like I'm ready now, but not sure the baby agrees. Think he might just torture me some more.

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 28/11/2012 11:28

Hello and welcome Twist I think I win the medal for being further away though (18 weeks with #3) sounds like you need to be ready for it to happen any minute, very exciting!

Kali hope you are ok my dear, sneezing that baby out as we speak.

Tea how are you today?

FestiveFannyFarts · 28/11/2012 12:47

The babies must of been had and getting squishy cuddles by now

TeaJunky · 28/11/2012 22:58

Welcome twist!

Princess, love the new sparkly name Wink but can I still call you princess Grin

Kali - how are you???

No squishy baby here I'm afraid. Had my final midwife appointment today...and have been given an appointment for 12/12/12 in case I'm STILL pregnant and need inducing etc !!!

Midwife said to have lots of sex Blush

I am currently on iPhone and DH on iPad - it just ain't gonna happen is it?

Damn Apple for ruining my sex life and delaying my labour Grin

BexGershon · 29/11/2012 05:20

Hello all, can I join??
Today is my due date and...nothing!!
Have been having a few twinges until now but my midwife said I'm still not engaged and nothing will happen until I am!
It's odd as I have having bad back pain and feel it couldbe my time...baby will come when it's ready I suppose.
tea I have also been given the 12th as my induction...how the hell I'll wait till then I don't know!!!!!
I have really bad thrush at the moment so along with the normal pregnancy pains i am just so uncomfortable now :(

TeaJunky · 29/11/2012 07:58

Hiya bex, welcome welcome!

It's the pain and the twinges that make you think it's happening - so frustrating isn't it! And wow you're with me on 12th, how lovely Smile

Im having pains this morning...but I won't hold my breath. They go after an hour.,first time I actually want pain to hang around/worsen!

Festive, oh he has no issue with helping to get it out the way he put it in Grin

Oooh some exciting news ladies...

DH, dd and I were having a lovely, cosy evening, DH on laptop downloading films to watch later, dd drawing tinkerbells with her new crayola, and me pottering in the kitchen making a lamb chop dinner..when there was a sudden trickle and then a big GUSH and my waters broke! Shock

It wouldn't stop and I yelled to DH that my waters have broken, who came running with dd (who wanted to know which glass mummy had broken and where was the water spilt Grin) ....

Anyway! I've been in to hospital and am only 2cm so came home to 'mobilise' Hmm don't know what that involves exactly but ive cleaned my kitchen and put the dryer on while waiting for thR contractions to kick in! Grin

Going to sleep now...will keep you ladies posted Smile xxx
