Can I somehow stop my belly button from popping out?

Im 24 weeks pregnant. Over the last few days I've noticed my belly button getting flatter and it feels as if it might 'pop' outward very soon. It's painful and feels very sensitive, almost as if somebody is poking their finger INTO my belly button. I know this sounds stupid, is there any trick I can use to prevent it coming out? Oh it's just so ICK.

Mine was an outy by the end (quite a deep inny normally) but went in again.

Ooh belly buttons ..I've got a strange one.

As a baby I suffered my belly button bursting and I nearly died because it would not stop bleeding ( this was after the stump fell off ) .

I had some kind of infection that caused it . Lovely 1970s surgeon sorted it for me , and sewed me a nice new one . Omg it was belly button perfection . Perfectly round shaped and had scars /tiny folds skin/ of little lines that were sort of in a star/daisy petal shape , all meeting in the very centre of the belly button. I was very proud of it , not too deep , not to shallow , just nice .
It was my best feature .

Then I got pg , nothing much changed the first 3 times ...but my last pg was twins Shock .

It didn't pop out ...or flatten . It STRETCHED ! .

It has gone from perfectly round and about the size of a penny to being almost a long slit about 2 cm vertically , with stretch marks around it ,like a perverse tatooed circle .
As I no longer have a massive pg belly ( 7 years old twins now ) the stretch marks there have faded silvery , but the skin has shrunk back so they look sort of dented in rather than normal marks.

Weirdest thing I've ever seen . Don't know if it was the twins or the op as a baby that caused this ? .

Trust me I would be glad to have ended with a regular popped out button.

On the plus side, you'll finally get rid of the very deep bit of fluff you didn't know was there.

I think it's important not to lift / over do it if it is feeling sensitive. Mine keeps popping out and sometimes gets very tender around it. I was worried it was a hernia as was quite painful but now it is mostly OK and if I feel it stretching and becoming tender I try to rest until it goes back in. Hopefully just another thing that will be better once baby is born. This is my third and I'm 30 weeks so it's all getting a bit tired of stretching I think, plus a bunch of lifting, buggy pushing and general being on the go is inevitable in my day.

31+2 and still an inny....

Here's hoping it stays that way! x

Lol - mine's gone all flat, too at 21 weeks. usually I hate my belly button being touched, always feels sore-sensitive, but it doesn't now, bonus!

Not sure I'll be loving the outie if/when it comes mind you. Then again, I'm sure I saw somewhere that an outie is a good sign that baby's back is on your front (ie not back-toback), or is that an old wives tale?

I loved my belly button which, considering my body image, was a miracle. It was a v deep inny.

During my first pregnancy it didn't change much. I had recently lost a lot of weight so didn't get stretch marks either. Pregnant 9 months after ds and hadn't lost baby weight and didn't suffer with hyperemesis tjis time either so essentially now my belly was stretching. Except it wasn't. My belly button was expanding!!!
I discovered a mole I never knew I had which had once been in the depths. A small birthmark I had about a cm from my bb is now 10cms across my tummy. My bb never recovered from dd. I now have no redeeming features. Even my once nice feet are like trotters.

You get more than a baby when you become a mum Grin

Mine hasn't popped out but my stomach is weird. Before I got pregnant I lost a lot of weight and my stomach never really looked the same. There was a lot of excess 'post blubber' Blush which sort of seems to be stopping my belly button from coming all the way out.
