Heh, so, following on from my how late did you work thread, was your first baby late? If so, how many days over?

And if yes or no, was your Mum late with her first baby? I am wondering if this kind of thing runs in families

8 days overdue with DD.

DM was 10 days over with me and 12 days over with my DB.

3 weeks early with my son...he weighed 7lb 13oz.

My mum went 2 weeks over with me (first child) with a two day labour (ouch!), then early, early, late with my brothers.
I went 4 days over with my first and labour was relatively quick.

yes i was 13 days late had to be induced then have c sec as he still didnt want to come out

I went 10 days over.

My mum was induced with me and my 3 brothers as we weren't for showing up!

5 days late

My DD1 was 13 over and then very long labour; second is currently 6 over and still waiting.

My mum's DD1 was well over and then very long and traumatic labour (terrifying 1960s medical stuff - I thought mine was quite bad but it was a walk in the park in comparison). Her DD2 was roughly on time and a very quick and easy labour....I am seriously keeping my fingers crossed here!

Mum's were before dating scans though, so based on LMP - if I used that for mine I would be on due date today this time.

no. first baby was 2 days before my due date. second was 3 weeks before dd.

I wonder if it's linked to height; going into labour before DD i mean. I 'm only 5'2" and I was 37+5 with dc1 but with dc2 I think my body culdn't cope.

That's an interesting theory, Jenna, although my mum is 5'3 and I'm 5'8, as is my DMIL, so the correlation is somewhat whacked there!

DC1 was 37+5 -- had an amniotic fluid leak with no contractions whatsoever at 37+3 so they decided to induce me. (Horrible horrible labour that took 17 hours from induction to birth)
DC2 was 39+1 -- spontaneous, textbook labour (3.5 hours from losing mucous plug, 2.5 hours from being admitted to hospital and 1 hour from getting to the delivery room!)

I'm my mother's only child and I was roughly 2-3 weeks early.

I am very hopeful that the maternal line helps.

I popped out three weeks early in about 3 hours. As I'm scheduled to be induced at 38 weeks that would suit me fine!!

DD was born a week early. My Mum had me a week and a half early x

I was induced at 40+12 with DD & my Mum had an crash section with me at 43 weeks. My sister was overdue with DS1 & DD1. I'm hoping DD2 will arrive naturally!

me, 11 days over with DD1, mum was 14 days over with me. Midwives definitely thought there was a link.

My daughter popped out the very day she was due.

DS1 was 8 days late. Mum can't remember exactly, but always says I was about on time.

Yes, 6 days late. I was the first child, and I was born exactly on my due date.

7 days late and ELCS, so who knows how late she should have been?

1 day early :) doesn't follow suit with my mum, her first 2 were a couple of weeks late and her 3rd was on time.

yes dc1 9 days late. went into spontaneous labour at 7 days over, but had cs in the end.

Huh would love to collate graphs etc but don't have time really, not enough hours in the day for my day job lol. Anyone else willing?!
I have heard now that 80% first babies are late. So, I was right there at least!

Yes - induced at 40+9 with pre-eclampsia

But I was apparently 2 weeks early as were siblings!

My mum: first baby ten days early
Me: first baby 8 days late
My sis: ten days late
