We are having a boy!!! That is all. What are the perks???

Just wanted to share that we found out yesterday that we are having a boy and I am so excited. First baby so every stage is scary and new - the scan was so terrifying as I always think the worst. By the time the woman said it was a boy I was so worked up I wouldn't have cared at all what they said - I was so excited that it was just o.k - I cried my eyes out. Just wanted to share. Oh and also - what are the perks of having a boy!?????

You get to spend twice as long doing nappies to make sure the boybits are tucked in correctly and pointing downwards.

You don't have to wrestle them into tights or bother about doing their hair. Much quicker in the morning I expect!

I have boys and wouldn't have it any other way.

They don't get given a shed load of pink glittery shit. maybe that's a perk?

Boys are thoroughly delightful and will fill you with more joy than you ever thought possible. They are funny, affectionate, cute and inquisitive.

I have train spotter who can tell you the model just be looking at the nose of one and where it is in use...

Don't believe boys are that different. All the boys are cuddly, boys are more active, boys are more into facts etc ... Well not round here. I've 2 girls and a boy and all traits are very mixed in our family (including the pink glittery shit!)

No, I'm joking, he is lovely. He spends too much time on his phone and lives in a rather fetching boxers and dressing gown combo but he is lovely.

MoveIt, my mother soon became a dinosaur/insect/zoological expert thanks to me - then three years later she had a boy! :D

Congrats on the boy! Your perk will be your baby, regardless of gender!

You don't have to worry so much about cliquiness (if that's a word) at school.
Looking for nice clothes is more of a challenge and therefore more rewarding when you find good stuff- I'd suggest Next, Tesco, a few bits in Debenhams/John Lewis and some of the Scandinavian labels.
I've always wanted a big brother.
When he grows up you can send him out with DH on boys outings and have some peace.
The toys are more interesting as might be less familiar to those you played with- I hated Lego as a child, (very much into dolls, flower fairies, care bears and my little pony), but love building with Lego/ mega bloks now.
They still like baking and craft (my DS is a very stereotypical 'boy' so I've make sure we do baking/craft each week- he loves it)
My DS wears tights under trousers in the winter and has his first pair of thermal leggings- so cute.
They look adorable in tight legged pyjamas too (Next and Sainsburys for these)

I have two boys and I just adore them. Don't have girls so I can't compare, but they are cuddly, fiercely loyal to me and each other.

We have a lot of cars and no pink things.

Ali I have a 3 year old DS. My sister has girls and I used to look at their tights and say 'thank god I don't have to bother with those!' And the hair clips and plaits and pony tails.

I'm now pregnant with a girl. Karma

Thanks all! Obviously my use of the word 'perk' was a mistake - I meant it only in a humourous sense. Obviously I am elated and would have been whatever the sex! We are very very very excited. So far the 'perks' have been the cute blue baby grows!!
Iliketomoveitmoveit very funny lol. I would love a gold card too. Dinosaurs rule!

I have no idea about boys, I have a 17month old lazy girl!!

I've got my 20week scan later on today and hoping for a boy this time :-P

I have a boy. He is lovely at times and less so at others. He had high points and low ones. I love him to bits. Just like his sister (she also wees every time I take her nappy off).

I'm still adjusting to having 2 boys. One is 2.7, the other 12 days. It's fabulous though!

They won't throw a tantrum at 3AM after wetting the bed because their pyjama bottoms no longer match the top .
