Anyone had any funny /annoying comments from people who clearly think its ok to comment on size of bump / bum / general appearance etc......I find people think its ok to comment on everything about how your body is changing ( yes I have noticed thanks ! ) .... I don't think they mean to be offensive / rude etc ...but just feel the need to say something as though the only topic of conversation is now the shape/size of bump !!!

I've actually been quite lucky, no unpleasant comments at all.

MIL keeps saying, I'm just like her, neat and small. As if she can take the credit for what my body is doing !

ha ha !!! i think she means that as a compliment ( size of bump not that you are like her ................!?) tbh not all comments are unpleasant its just weird what people say and how often and personal they are and that suddenly because you are preggers these personal comments are now acceptable ....:@)

I find it odd when people say "you're definitely having a boy/girl because of ..."
It freaks me out when I have no clue to the sex of my baby and they are SO confident in their opinion.

Check out girl at Morrisons exclaimed I must be having twins today. I'm 2 days over due with 1 (admittedly I am looking pretty huge). I was pleased with myself at being able to smile and joke as I am rather uncomfortable and grumpy atm!

I had a "friend" comment with more glee than necessary that I'm getting bigger (I'm more than halfway through). I smiled and said that I can still fit into my size 8 jeans. She was quiet after that....

elvis I had this with DD an found it irritating and unnerving. It was always that I was having a boy because I was carrying all out the front and my face was still so thin . Fools. But I found when DD was born I had started to believe them, and was a bit confused she was a girl!

I used to like it when ppl said I was big, it made me feel proud!

yes elvislives2012 that is one of the things that annoys me the most ...........I'm like seriously what are you basing that on .............???? 50% chance of being right is pretty good odds i think !

sparklekitty and fluffly: omg not sure if random strangers commenting is better or worse ...........!?? people just don't seem to think before they speak its like an affliction is some cases . Hope that you don't have to wait much longer sparklekitty .....

loveschocolate - well done you .but clearly you are not eating enough chocolate :-)

Philbee exactly the same thing happened with us (throw in some witchery of colleagues with needle and thread as well). I was so shocked when they said it's a girl and proceeded to call her him for the 2 days I was in hospital until we got her home and into some pink.

Someone said to me yesterday how huge I am. Like I am not already conscious of this, being larger and having always struggled with my weight (that they know) this is not the easiest comment to take.

Am 25 weeks and loving being pregnant but these comments are just annoying!

I got REALLY cross when I was 5 months pregnant with my first (and still in size 10s I might add...) when a virtual stranger told me 'you don't look pregnant you look fat'. Grrrrrr. Why do people think it's ok?? Am pregnant again now and am going to answer back a bit more this time round instead of smiling sweetly while inwardly fuming......

first off i have to say i prefer the word fat to bump... dunno why but bump makes me cringe. Anyway at work yesterday a non preggas girl said come here i want to see your fat :-D i said only if i can see yours :-D

I think it's particularly irritating strange that in the space of a few hours one person can exclaim how big I am for 21wks and the next person exclaims how small I am for 21wks. Do people really not realise that everyone carries differently?!

I just grit my teeth and reply 'I'm actually measuring spot on for my dates you idiot'

And then I rub my belly while smiling contentedly.

The only comments I've had are about how much my boobs have grown. Admittedly they were blooming small before but it's not like I'm suddenly giving Jordan a run for her money! Haha :)

I haven't got this so much, but when i go into mothercare or a baby store.

They touch my bump, which really fucks me off. I dont like it, you should at least ask! My mums friend son thought i was having a boy and so did everyone else and when it was a boy, there all smirking? Im thinking its 50/50 you idoits.

I hate the "oh you're definitely having a boy/girl because of blahblahblah" comments, what are you meant to say to them "oh I'm so glad you told me I'll just go and buy a load of boy/girl clothes now then". It's especially annoying me now, I'm carrying DC2 in exactly the same way as I carried DD, all out front in a big old beachball bump, which is apparently a classic 'boy' shape, so even when they say you're having a boy you're all out front and I say well this is how DD was I still get the "ooh I wouldn't be so sure" comments.

Have also been greeted with variations of "hello fatty" a lot more since going overdue, again what do you say apart from oh do fuck off ?

Think of me- I work in a local food convenience store, in the middle of a village... It does start to get quite tiring when your fiftieth customer of the day opens their conversation with "Ooooh look how big you are?!" "Have you got long left?!" "Look how neat you are!!" and the piece du resistance, "Ahh look, you've got an outy!!!!!" (Because said belly button has pushed out so far now that it is visible through my t-shirt )

This is why I stay out of the way and do nothing paperwork in the office.

I had a male colleague say to me on more than one occasion, " I don't know what is bigger, your belly or your bum" How I wish I were rude enough to comment on the size of his stomach!

For us, being pregnant is such a miracle (mostly due to very reduced fertility on my part) so having a considerable bump at 14 weeks is like a badge of honour for me. I am quite slight and small and now I have a turning circle

BUT I draw the line at randoms reaching out for my tubby tum - first time I was shocked, second time I was prepared and dodged and said "you only get to touch this if you're the father...!" in a light hearted way.

One of my colleagues is calling me Tubs, another Jemima (due to the waddle)... Yes it's my pregnancy and my bump but everyone is so glad for us that it is never meant with malice.
