Just wondering what you first signs of pregnancy were, and how early you felt them? Only just started TTC so don't want to spend the next however-long trying to symptom spot without any clue what to look for :)

DS was unplanned so I wasn't paying any attention to my body (have no recollection now if I had been unwell or anything prior to finding out at 7 weeks that I was pg)

Exhaustion and sore boobs from about 3 weeks onward. The main clue I was pregnant was slight bleeding gums when I brushed. I had never had this before. This was also from about 3 weeks.

I conceived wedding night and about 7 days into the honeymoon I developed an inability to manage my wee. We were walking lots and I would have to dash to a nearby bush all of a sudden. I was really struggled to handle normal loo demands.

Then sickness around the usual time (7 weeks?)... but my sister had the mega-tiredness as an early symptom too.

doblet · 11/09/2012 13:42

First time, nothing. Second time, vomiting, exhaustion, dehydration, constant need to wee. I preferred the first pregnancy

panicnotanymore · 11/09/2012 13:56

Various things that I just put down to stress (as was going through a rough time) but with the benefit of hindsight I think were due to pregnancy: went right off tea and I usually drink quite a bit, upset stomach in the mornings, sore boobs, and off cycle bleeding.

AliceHurled · 11/09/2012 13:59

Exhaustion and boobs. But I didn't have a clue till I tested

Spice17 · 11/09/2012 14:02

I knew I was pregnant pretty much immediatly because I just felt 'off', a bit sicky, bit anxious and strange and I went off wine/drinking (totally unheard of!)

The week after I conceived I told DH I thought I was pregnant and he thought I was nuts.

Did one negative test day before period was due 2 weeks later and thought 'well what's up with me then?' Did another 3 days later and hey presto! Am now 36 weeks :)

Flosie1989 · 11/09/2012 14:03

Just very sore boobs for me Smile good luck! Xx

BonkeyMollocks · 11/09/2012 14:05

Boobs at 3 weeks (although didn't know then) .

Tested at 5 wks, got sickness at 6 wks.

zigwig · 11/09/2012 14:10

Needing to go for a wee loads more than usual, although I didn't think about it so much at the time. That was followed by going off things I love like cups of tea. Then the nausea and sickness started and my skin became a greasy mess. Joyful.

cakeandcava · 11/09/2012 14:12

Extreme tiredness a day or so before period due.
Nausea kicked in around 5-6 weeks.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 11/09/2012 14:18

Slight nausea, and an awful metallic taste in my mouth! It took me ages to catch on!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 11/09/2012 14:25

Went off tea, metallic taste, felt tired and hormonal.

Both times I had a poorly tum about a week after conceiving, the second time I knew the minute we'd dtd..I know people will think that's crazy but I honestly did, it was the only time we'd dtd that month as we were having a month off ttc.

BabyBellasMumma · 11/09/2012 14:33

The only symptom i had with both of my 2 children was constipation! With dc2 i had constipation so did a test and was only just pregnant!

HazleNutt · 11/09/2012 14:46

sore boobs 3 weeks and annoying back pain, like mild but constant period cramps. Went off alcohol first and then also food (even though not nauseous), just don't care about it.

Londonmrss · 11/09/2012 15:08

Most people have symptoms- but only with hindsight. The majority of those symptoms can also be mistaken for PMS so the real first symptom is a missed period and a positive test. Personally I thought I was pregnant several times when I wasn't. I would try not to think about it until you miss a period to be honest.

stowsettler · 11/09/2012 15:19

Same as Spice17 really. I remember going for a smear about 2 weeks after I must have conceived (pg not planned at all), and thinking "Should I mention I may be pregnant...?" I didn't, because obv I thought I was being stupid at the time.
I should've trusted my instincts.

growyourown77 · 11/09/2012 15:29

Extreme fatigue and sensitive to smells before BFP. Backache, fatigue, tearful, sensitive gums after BFP.

PeshwariNaan · 11/09/2012 15:32

I found out I was pregnant 3 days before I missed my period and I hadn't had any symptoms at all before then. The following week (5 weeks) I felt extremely hung over and tired even though I hadn't been drinking. Then the extreme nausea started...

NervousAt20 · 11/09/2012 15:32

Very sore boobs at around 7 weeks or so

TantrumsandBananas · 11/09/2012 15:42

Horrendous PMS, that was always my sign, not the usual madness, but completely and utterly irrational. Followed by a return to normality in the couple of days before period due. Then 5 weeks, nausea, metal taste constant trips to the loo.

Smells! Everyones aftershave and perfume made me what to vomit. Had to have window open all the time and fan going even though it was minus whatever outside, to combat smells and I was so hot too.

Gosh yes, the smells, going food shopping was a nightmare....

Rockchick1984 · 11/09/2012 15:44

I'm lucky enough not to suffer with anything in the run-up to my period (only know I'm due on because of using a period tracker app) so I'm hoping to spot symptoms at some point :)

I'll drive myself insane in the run-up to being due on, waiting to test!

With DS the first inklings I had were when I suddenly thought "Ugh this coffee tastes horrible" (I'm usually a huge coffee lover) and telling DH that I had to have a McDonalds for dinner or I was going to die Grin. Apart from that I just felt sort of off and tired but it took me ages to click that I might be pregnant, despite TTC at the time.

This time round I didn't really have any symptoms so the BFP was more of a shock. It took a while for the funny taste/going off coffee/horrible tiredness to set in.

Kelerina · 11/09/2012 17:51

Period being late! and then never showing up (grin)

Kelerina · 11/09/2012 17:52

oops Grin
