Okay, here goes, I'm 35 + 4. Im on anti sickness tablets & am on antibiotics for a UTI.

Today though baby head feels very low, and upright. Normally sits to the right.
Tonight I feel funny down there, like my bladder is constantly open. Throbbing almost.

Are you sure it is urine you are leaking? Just thinking it might be amniotic fluid?

TitsalinaBumSquash · 27/08/2012 22:13

Are you sure it's wee you're leaking and not your waters? I would get it checked to be on the safe side.
Have you got any pads you can put in to see what you're losing, colour/smell/amount?

Oh and don't be embarrassed! We don't don't embarrass easily here. Grin

BlackOutTheSun · 27/08/2012 22:14

Aww thats not gross, have you tried leaning forward when your on the loo to try and empty your bladder?

Or it could be a UTI? When was the last time your urine checked?

BikeRunSki · 27/08/2012 22:14

It is wee? Are you sure it's not your waters gone? Does sound a leetle bit like you might be meeting your baby in the next few hours. I'd ring the maternity ward if I were you....

skyebluesapphire · 27/08/2012 22:14

Ring Nhs if you are at all worried. Silly question maybe, but it's not your waters breaking is it ?

Princesslovelyboo · 27/08/2012 22:14

I'm with the others, are not sure it's not waters rather than wee? Good luck.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 27/08/2012 22:15

UTIs can bring on early labour, please do call the labour ward and ask for advice. Smile

BikeRunSki · 27/08/2012 22:15

Actually, hot, bothered and uncomfortable is exactly how I felt the day before DS was born at 37+5.

Sl1nkyMalinki · 27/08/2012 22:16

I'd get a pad on and then call the midwife/delivery suite. They can tell if it's your waters by the smell....see, no one embarrasses easily here when we're talking about sniffing sanitary towels Grin

skyebluesapphire · 27/08/2012 22:16

pickles just realised this is you Shock, x posted with several others and we have all had the same idea. Ring your local maternity unit or hospital or midwife and see what they say.

Pickles77 · 27/08/2012 22:16

It's def wee, it stinks. Like wee. Had cystitis this week.
Bumps not too big so sit on loo bent right over and literally can't stop weeing. Blush

Smell the leakage - wee smells like wee (obvs) but amniotic fluid is quite neutral smelling, slightly sweet and not unpleasant. If you are leaking amniotic fluid you must contact the hospital or your midwife asap. If you are at all unsure get advice - my waters broke without any drama and without labour starting either.

chickydoo · 27/08/2012 22:18

God I had the same, 2 days later DS2 was born.
Try & get checked out ASAP
Lots of luck

TitsalinaBumSquash · 27/08/2012 22:18

Still call incase, either your antibiotics aren't working and you need more/different ones or it's amniotic fluid. Please do it, it's really not worth any risk to you or your baby.

Iwillorderthefood · 27/08/2012 22:18

Go get it checked. Hope all ok x

TitsalinaBumSquash · 27/08/2012 22:18

X post. Hope you get some advice/reassurance soon. Smile

Springforward · 27/08/2012 22:19

I'd have a quick chat to the MWs, it might be nothing but you sound uncomfy and you will get some advice on what to do for the best.

skyebluesapphire · 27/08/2012 22:19

Trying to find midwife99 for you!

AmethystMoon · 27/08/2012 22:20

Mmm your bladder can only hold so much wee..... I would still get checked. Trust me your uterus hold a whole load of amniotic fluid, I thought I was weeing non stop when my waters first started to break.... Blush however 30 mins later I flooded the birthing unit corridor when they went properly Grin

Springforward · 27/08/2012 22:21

Forgot to add, my waters broke 36+ hours before contractions started, but OTOH a friend's waters broke at 30 weeks but babe hung on in there for another fourish weeks....

Sl1nkyMalinki · 27/08/2012 22:24

Glad you're getting advice, at the very least you may need more antibiotics coz the infection is still there.

You sound so uncomfortable! Hope you get help x

Pickles77 · 27/08/2012 22:29

They think it's baby engaging and that it's wee Sad just have to keep drinking and keep a eye on myself.
If it gets worse im to go into triage, they've made a note of my name.
If I'm okay tonight it's doctors ASAP tommorow for my UTI they said my antibiotics may not be working Sad
Always late evening isn't it!

Bless you. Try and get some rest (hahaha, I know) and waddle up to the GP tomorrow.

Always late evening, or a Saturday night Wink

Hope you're better soon x

Olympicnmix · 27/08/2012 22:51

It might be that your baby's head is squishing things a bit, and combined with the UTI, you are getting a dribble effect rather than the sensations you are used to. Use sanitary pads but if you get a chance to get some, Tena Lady are better, women with heavy periods swear by them too. You can always use up any Tena Lady you don't use post birth.

And it isn't TMI honestly.
