Girls names? Again

pinkdolly · 13/03/2006 18:13

I know this has been done to death, but I had my 21 week scan today and was told that I am having a girl. DH and I had thought we were having a boy so haven't chosen any girls names yet.
We already have 2 DDs, called Zoe and Sophie, so those names are out.
I like,
Gracie
Mollie.....
and thats about it at the moment, DH doesn't like Mollie and thinks Gracie is a bit old fashioned (quite like Zoe and Sophie really!).
So any suggestions would be great.
DH keeps coming up with names like... Jamie or Cadence and am not to sure on those. Thanx

Do you want osmething that 'goes with Zoe and Sophie?

If so how about Chloe or Emily.

I like Verity or Hope.

HappyMumof2 · 13/03/2006 18:17

oh yes, I love Chloe Smile

Twiglett · 13/03/2006 18:17

Grace is lovely .. and you can give her the diminutive if you wish

think Molly is a little over-used atm

although with 2 girls ending in an 'ee' sound personally I'd look for a different ending

Jessica - Jesse- Jess
Rebecca - Becca - Bex
Alexandra - Alexa - Xandra

oh I don't know I had enough trouble naming my own DD (who's middle name is Grace btw)

helsi · 13/03/2006 18:18

Charlotte Grace is ours partly chosen by us and dd1.

I also like Amy/Aimee, Molly, Amelia, Olivia, Leah,

Prefer Grace to Gracie. Mollie & Chloe are both a bit over used atm.

I love Mollie. It is DD's name and it suits her loads. And the proper spelling too Grin

compo · 13/03/2006 18:24

we're going to go with Bethan Rose (to be known as Beth) if we're having a girl this time

blueteddy · 13/03/2006 18:25

We have a little girl at the school I work in, called Coralie. I think that is pretty.

Wow, thanx for all your posts so far.
I'll run through a few.
DD1's middle name is Olivia, it's a name I love but Dh was not too keen on.
I also love Poppy, but the dog next door is called that, their other dog is Lily.

My little sister is Sarah, and I am surrounded by Chloe's at the moment (girl next door, cousin etc).
DH suggested Rosie which is nice (although I keep thinking of the stroppy one in coronation street).
Emily is lovely but DD1 has an entire range of the Emily dolls from the tesco christmas selection and wont let me use that.

Am I being too fussy?

There are just so many lovely girls names it's so hard to pick. When we thought we were having a boy it was Zak. Nice and simple and we both agreed. Now we've been bouncing names off each other all day and just cant decide. AAARRGGHHH!

eidsvold · 14/03/2006 00:54

what about Grace instead of Gracie - you can call her Gracie but she has the option of being Grace when she gets older.

Calista · 14/03/2006 21:52

Isabelle Grace is a lovely name, and the shortened version of Isabelle is usually 'Issy', which would go with your other dd's names.
