Girls names? Again

I know this has been done to death, but I had my 21 week scan today and was told that I am having a girl. DH and I had thought we were having a boy so haven't chosen any girls names yet.
We already have 2 DDs, called Zoe and Sophie, so those names are out.
I like,
Gracie
Mollie.....
and thats about it at the moment, DH doesn't like Mollie and thinks Gracie is a bit old fashioned (quite like Zoe and Sophie really!).
So any suggestions would be great.
DH keeps coming up with names like... Jamie or Cadence and am not to sure on those. Thanx

My faves atm are
Celeste
Meredith

and I quite like Macy too.

My dd is Madison and I am Chloe. My middle name is Nadine which I've always loved but never heard anyone with it as a first name.

I would go with something that sounds a bit different tbh - try shouting 'Zoe, Sophie, Rosie' in quick succession, and distinguishing which one you're calling!

I like Isobel, Rebecca, Alexandra out of the ones said so far. What about looking at the meanings - Zoe and Sophie are both Greek, Zoe means life, Sophie means wisdom, so try looking at Greek names to go with them. I'll have a look....

Katharine - 'pure', Helen - 'bright one', Ianthe - 'violet flower', Iris - 'rainbow', Ophelia - 'serpent', Peony - 'after Peony flower', Talia - 'blooming', Vanessa - 'butterfly'.

There are loads more if you look on a baby name website.

tortoiseshell · 15/03/2006 09:55

I think I would go with Helen or Katharine out of that list - Katharine can always be Kate, Katie, Kath if you want to shorten it.

Thanx for all your suggestions, DH is doing my head in. He just doesn't like anything I suggest and his suggestions are very thin on the ground.

Am half tempted to call the baby Sophie coz am always calling Zoe by that name (lol)

I mentioned Evie to him today and he wasn't impressed (i think it's beautiful).

Still am only 21 weeks pg so still got loadsa time left.

jayjaybaby · 16/03/2006 10:56

nbg i used to work with a nadine and there that girl from girls aloud called nadine but do you pronounce it nadine or naydeen iyswim

MrsBadger · 16/03/2006 16:29

TBH would give her the choice ie name her Charlotte Jayne and call her Charlie if you want to - otherwise think of all the 'Charlie? Isn't that a boy's name? Is it short for Charlotte? Please write your full name, no nicknames thank you' conversations she'll have to go through.

And I've always said/heard Nadd-een, never Nay-deen.
