My first M/C was at 23 weeks, I had a baby boy called Riley-Lee. I got pregnant 3-4months after but miscarried at 8weeks a couple of weeks ago.

What are your stories? I feel ready to try again, I have learnt to cope emotionally, I still have my days hut doesnt everyone? I would really appreciate your stories :).

bump.

My friend had 3 pregnancies each 3 months apart (first got to 21 weeks, second to 8 weeks ish) and the third one is now running around looking gorgeous, chatting away (2yo) and being wonderful.

Can't give you all the nitty gritty and emotional side as such as it was my friend rather than me, but thought it'd get your thread started and be good to know. :-)

That's good to hear, hopefully third time lucky for me :). Thank you for replying.

Sorry for your losses

I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks, had stopped growing at 8 weeks, it then took me one period and a month to get pregnant and this lead to ds now 5.
Then once we decided to try for the next one it took a year to concieve and had a miscarriage at around 6 weeks, it then took another 12 months to get pregnant and i'd currently nearly 35 weeks.

Its so stressful not knowing when it will happen and so nerve racking when it does. Has your cycle gone back to normal yet? After my second miscarriage it took 10 weeks to get my first period and then they were all over the place so this night be why it took so long to concieve again.

Hope you get all the support you need and I really do wish you all the best!

I had a MMC discovered at nearly 14wks in December, I found out I was pregnant again in April, I'm now 22+5wks and all is going really well.

RileyLeeHargreaves2012 · 23/08/2012 17:57

I haven't had my first period yet, I'm waiting for it then trying again.I'm sorry for your loses and congratulations :)

I miscarried 6 weeks ago at 6 weeks and am now pregnant again. For some reason hormone levels are indicating 7/8 weeks pregnant when I was thinking more about 4-5 weeks. But all healthy and fine so far...

MiggleMoo · 23/08/2012 18:05

just re-read your post RileyLee so sorry for your losses, it is so tough and especially at 23 weeks. i felt ready to try again straight away but I was much earlier on. but yes, it does still hurt and i haven't been through what you have! Good luck xx

CountryKitty · 23/08/2012 18:34

Hi sorry for your losses.

I mc'd at 7 weeks in February, Fell pg 2wks after and mc again at just over 5wks. I then left ttc until I had a period (on my midwife's advice) and then was very luck to fall pg that first cycle ttc again. I'm now 17+6 and so far so good.

As my mc were much earlier than yours maybe my hormones went back to normal quite fast? I don't know, but it is such a horrible time and I wish you the very best of luck ttc again.

ItsMyLastOne · 23/08/2012 18:41

I had an early MC, not sure how many weeks I was but it had to be less than 12 I reckon. I MC'd on holiday and we were a 3 hour drive from the nearest town so I didn't see a doctor about it. I conceived 2 months later and DD1 is now 23 months.

I didn't have any MC's after her but it did take 18 months before we conceived DD2. I'm 25+ weeks and everything seems well so far.

mylittlemonkey · 23/08/2012 18:49

I had a MMC in October at 8.5 weeks and had an ERPC which meant my cycle went back to normal pretty much the next month. I was desperate to try again ASAP and managed to get pg 3 months later. I then had another MMC at nearly 11 weeks. Things took their natural course that time and without going into details it took nearly 10 weeks for me to have a normal period in fact they had to give me hormones to get my cycle back to normal. Again, I was desperate to try again and the waiting was so difficult. I had arranged to get tests done and so had to wait for my first normal period before getting the tests done but then managed to get pg the month after and am now 16 weeks tomorrow and so far so good. It have been very anxious but I think that would be the case however long after you waited to try again.

If you feel ready then you can actually get pg before you even have your first period. I started using ovulation tests straight away so I knew when I had ovulated as well as just DTD every other day from about 9 days into my cycle.

I am very sorry about your mc's. It's an awful time and esp what you have been through. Is this your first?

RileyLeeHargreaves2012 · 23/08/2012 18:58

Thank you all, I have had 2 mc's and have no live children :(. My first child was riley but he didnt survive. Sorry for you loses abbreviated congratulations on your pregnancies/children :). I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow because I keep heating up, feeling ill and blacking out/ feeling faint. I had this when I lost riley for 6 weeks after. I had 2 d&cs then the 2nd one gave me pelvic inflammotary disiese.. I had over 8 different types of antibiotics before I got better, hope its not like that tjis time :(.

It's a matter of personal choice. With my first I never did have a normal period between mc and pregnancy. (this did give me dating issues back in the days before dating scans.)
The very, very best of luck for when the time is right:)

whatsoever · 24/08/2012 10:39

I had a MMC diagnosed at 12 weeks in May 2011. We started trying again as soon as the bleeding stopped (3.5 weeks later) but after 3 months I was diagnosed with depression and advised to stop TTC to take anti-depressants.

I felt better after a great Christmas with family, so we started trying again in January 2012 and I fell pregnant that month. I'm now 34 weeks, all going well so far.

In hindsight we should have given ourselves a few clear months (my DH suggested this but I wouldn't listen) to recover and grieve and I probably would have avoided depression and possibly got pregnant more quickly, but that sort of thing is very personal. I know a lot of people are ready again straight away.

Best of luck whatever you decide, OP.

Hi. I had a missed miscarriage in March at 12 weeks, baby had stopped developing at 9. I didn't try again in the first cycle (which was 4 weeks long) but conceived after 3 more cycles. I am currently 11 weeks. I think I was too stressed to try again at first but it did happen once I had calmed down.
Good luck OP.

blackteaplease · 24/08/2012 10:56

I am so sorry to hear of your losses. I had 2 miscarriages whilst ttc dc2, the first was very early and the second at 10 weeks, still early but I had started to show/ get bloat and started to get excited as I had had booking in appointment and a date for my 12 week scan.

After the second one, I waited for my period before starting ttc again and got pregnant the next cycle. I am now 36 weeks.

Good luck and hope the GP sorts out your symptoms quickly

farfallarocks · 24/08/2012 11:31

I am really sorry to hear of your losses.
I think being told you are super fertile after MC can make it worst if it does not happen again straight away, I cried almost as much as when I miscarried the month afterwards when I got my period!

It took me 3 months to conceive, also miscarried that one, then we had a break for 3 months and it took us 3 months again to conceive this one (now 30weeks) but I am on heparin and was on progesterone for this pregnancy.
Was your late loss ever investigated? I am so sorry about your little boy, that is heart breaking :(

LadyMaryCrawley · 24/08/2012 11:55

So sorry to hear of all the losses.

I miscarried in March at 8 weeks, had a period in April, got pg again in May, now 16 weeks and all is well. I am glad I waited to have a period, it felt - to me - as though everything was back to normal again. I was relieved to conceive again so soon as it had taken nearly a year the first time, and I actually had an appointment scheduled at the fertility clinic when I found out I was pg.

Good luck OP x

Midgetm · 24/08/2012 12:24

First of all so sorry for your losses, to loose a baby so far on is the bitterest blow and you have all my admiration for contemplating starting this journey again. I have had multiple miscarriages - all before 13 weeks. The time it took to conceive after them all was totally different. My one live birth was conceived straight after a rather long and drawn out miscarriage that resulted in an infection. This pregnancy was conceived 3 months after a EP. It has taken me a lot of bites at the cherry but currently carrying DC2 and 31 weeks. I hope all goes well for you. Once you have experienced loss it makes pregnancy different but it also makes you cherish the good stuff too. All the best.

MiggleMoo · 24/08/2012 12:39

Posted this as a seperate post as well but any help - I am at work and trying to hold off the tears!!

I have recently had 2 mcs (last one 6 weeks ago), over the weekend I started to show up on FRER tests getting darker but still faint. After a faint, but distinct line, on tuesday I did a CB digi which said preg 1-2 weeks. Just done another CB digi and it has said not pregnant. Does this mean it has gone again?

Devastated!!! what do others think?

kalidasa · 24/08/2012 12:56

Earlier this year I conceived three months in a row - a miscarriage at 5 weeks in January, another very early loss in February and conceived yet again in March (now 26 weeks). So basically I conceived twice immediately after a miscarriage, without a 'normal' period in between. So you can ovulate and conceive again very quickly in some circs. Obviously these were very early losses though.

With hindsight I would have taken some measures to avoid for a month or two after the second loss, as I was unwell with both the early losses and then became very ill very quickly with the successful pregnancy (hyperemesis). I think a bit of a break would have been good for me and my body but obviously we didn't expect to keep conceiving again immediately like that.

Really sorry to hear about your losses, I hope you are able to conceive again quickly once you feel ready.

RileyLeeHargreaves2012 · 24/08/2012 14:14

Congratulations to you all :D you'll all have babies soon :).

Farfallarocks- I had an infection in my placenta which was through my blood so the baby was healthy but they messed me around and wouldnt let me go into hospital to get checked out. When I got there I was already fully dilated so I couldn't have a cervical stitch :(. They had to break my waters after 36hours of labour otherwise i could of become seriously infected or worse i could of died :/. So it was through an infection and they think a weak cervix :(.

Mop if your result is negative its fine :). I had a positive result for 3months after riley I had to have to d&cs, then got diagnosed with pid but then ended up passing the after birth about 2 weeks after my 2nd d&c. If you concerened then go ask for a scan :)

Hi Riley,
Sorry this was my mistake I posted on the wrong thread. I mc, bloods proved hormones gone, fell pregnant showed up as +ve tuesday on clear blue and negative today - so was really hoping this was going to be a healthy pregnancy but maybe not the case...

amybelle1990 · 24/08/2012 14:25

I got pregnant straight after my mc :D but i mc'ed quite early (6 weeks) so I don't know if that makes a difference

I don't know how much bull this is but someone told me that after you mc you have some pg hormones in your bloodstream which makes it more likely that you'll get pg in your next cycle.

Good luck with trying for a baby again.
