Probably not, but here's what today's been like...

  • TMI, but woke up this morning extremely wet. Haven't really had any increased wetness throughout pregnancy, so new to me.
  • Period pains, pretty bad ones, that last a few minutes and, tmi, they almost feel like they're almost not just in my stomach, but going so low down I can almost feel them in my BUM if that makes any sense?
  • Can't sit down. I've had this on and off - have this really heavy feeling and can't sit down as it feels like a lot of horrible pressure.
  • Feeling sick and faint.

Problem is with the pains is that I've been a lot of pain all day with standard SPDness, which can vary in the daily treats it brings, so sometimes when I've been in a lot of pain it's been difficult to actually distinguish 'different' (maybe early labour) pains, from just another variant of SPD...

Had no braxton hicks or anything at all so far, so really quite clueless about what I should be looking out for!

TIA

How far are you? I know nothing about giving birth (yet) but it sounds interesting.

Fingers crossed!

Imperial · 04/08/2012 20:31

Sounds like it to me! Easier said than done but have something light to eat then try and get some sleep in. How exciting - you get to meet your baby very very soon!

Bobkins · 04/08/2012 20:39

It is so difficult !! I am in the same position. First baby due Monday. Slight period pains, back ache and really thirsty. Keep me posted xx

Zara1984 · 04/08/2012 21:20

Good luck superslinger - I hope it's the real deal!!! Am 28 weeks and wishing the next 12 or so weeks away!!!

Flosie1989 · 04/08/2012 21:31

I had to be induced in hospital as my little girly was 2 weeks late. After 3 days in hospital with nothing happening I literally all of a sudden got minor back ache followed by slight period pains, I knew instantly it was the beginning of labor. And it soon changed its pace! Enjoy every moment it's a wonderful experience and would do it again in a heartbeat Grin Good luck and keep us posted!

Bobkins · 04/08/2012 21:33

Flosie, that's a lovely storey and gives me some confidence that it won't be long. Hoping all the excitement of the Olympics will bring it on xx

Flosie1989 · 04/08/2012 21:36

I've got my fingers crossed for you! I felt all my contractions in my bum too rather than my tummy xx

Bobkins · 04/08/2012 21:44

Isn't it strange how every one has such different experiences. I'm just hoping I can trust my body. Also, hoping for a home birth so won't have far to go x

Flosie1989 · 04/08/2012 21:57

Ah how exciting! If you do have a home birth please let me know how you get on? I'd like to consider this option for the future if they would let me.

Bobkins · 04/08/2012 22:10

I will. My pregnancy has been very low risk and the mid wives very encouraging. I just hope I can manage the pain ! You can only have gas and air at home but we also have a birthing pool. X

Flosie1989 · 04/08/2012 22:20

Ah it all sounds lovely! I wanted to be in a midwifery led unit in a birthing pool but couldn't have either as had to be induced. However I still managed with just gas and air which was what I wanted Smile it's great stuff! I was telling jokes in between contractions and everything lol.

Just be ignorant towards the thought of the pain and just take each moment as it comes don't think about whether it will get worse or not. yes it hurts but it's a good pain Smile and the gas and air will do wonders x

Bobkins · 04/08/2012 22:35

Thanks for the encouragement that is my approach. I'll let you know how I get on xx

Bobkins · 05/08/2012 17:28

Any news super slinger ? X

Superslinger · 05/08/2012 18:59

No news whatsoever I'm afraid! :( Nothing today. Not a twinge (except for from horrible pelvis of course). Grrrr, so frustrating, was getting a bit excited yesterday I have to say! Maybe tomorrow will bring news... x

Same here. The pains seem to get more frequent as the day goes on. I go to bed thinking maybe this is it, then nothing !! Wake up the next morning feeling quite disappointed !

Superslinger · 06/08/2012 18:53

STILL nothing! :( How about you Bobkins?

Flosie1989 · 06/08/2012 18:59

Ah I'm sorry to hear this ladies. I was in your position 3 months ago and was just begging for my little one to dhow its face. I know how frustrating it can be. I remember getting rather annoyed that my mother in laws cat had her kittens before I dropped! Seems so silly now Grin

However you will meet your little ones very soon and it will be the best moment of your life! Xx

CaptainHetty · 06/08/2012 19:02

My sister was like this for a good few days before things kicked off properly, it drove her mad! Hopefully it means things are moving in the right direction for you :)

Bobkins · 06/08/2012 19:17

Sadly, no news from me either ! Mid wife came today, booked me in for a sweep next Monday so hopefully baby will come before then. Anymore, symptoms superslinger ? X

Superslinger · 06/08/2012 19:25

Haha, yes Flosie, I was outraged the other day when my midwife informed me that another of her ladies had gone into labour that morning - I responded 'what?! On MY due date?!!!' I pretended I was joking, but deep down genuinely felt it rather unfair!

Bobkins, no, I've literally not felt a thing since Sat. :( How about you? x

Bobkins · 06/08/2012 19:54

No, a few period pains and a bit of back ache but that's it. I went swimming today which was nice but I think that will be the last time as my costume doesn't really fit me !!
I am trying to be patient but it's hard. Going to wash the floors tomorrow. What have you been up to ? Xx

Flosie1989 · 06/08/2012 19:56

Haha love it about washing the floors! I walked up and down the stairs sideways like a crab for about half an hour! Funny the things we'll try!

WelshLadyCDF · 06/08/2012 20:02
