Hello,

Hope you don't mind me asking for some advice here?

My dsil is 35 weeks today and went for a midwife appointment this afternoon. She has been sent to the hospital as she has had itching all over, especially feet and arms, which gets worse at night.

Has anyone had any experience of this?

Many thanks :)

It's been really helpful reading this thread. I was told today I have oc with a count of 23? Dr said normal level is 10 & I will be induced at 37 weeks. Despite this being my 4th pregnancy I had never heard of this condition before. Thanks for the reassurance. Smile

Hi needsomesunshine :)

Sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with OC, and I'm so glad you've found this thread useful.

As you can see, I've had fantastic support from the ladies here - they're wonderful! A wealth of knowledge and I'm so grateful that they took the time to post here for me :)

Ask any questions you need to - one (if not all) of them will be able to help :)

Best of luck with your pregnancy xx

sunshine check out the link to Jenny Chambers' OC support site in my earlier post, it's very useful.

A bile acid level of over 40 has been linked to an increased risk of complications for the baby. So I would not worry too much about your level of 23, the DRs will want to monitor you and baby to check it does not rise. Have they started you on the meds yet?

If it reassures you, my levels levels ranged from 90 to 36 during my PG, never got into the 20s!

It is quite unusual to only have OC once, you may have had it in previous PGs and not known?

Thankyou. I didn't mean to hijac your thread. I have a consultant appt booked for Friday where they will discuss my results & further action.
