Hello all... I went for my 20week scan today and everything looks fine ..Hurray!!! :)
I asked about the sex of the baby and the radiographer said it was really difficult to see but she thinks it's a girl ..but she's only 75% certain ..is this certain enough to start buying girly things d'you think? I've heard stories about people being told at the scan they were having a girl and then giving birth to a boy ...anyone got any experience/comments to add?

Was told at my 20 week scan yesterday that the sonographer was 85% sure it was a girl. I was really convinced at the beginning of my pg that baby was a boy, and my Chinese Doctor (who seems to know everything is pretty certain it's a boy too). However, I had a really lovely and very clear dream about having a girl, then my friend gave birth to a girl and, since holding her, I can't think about 'it' being a boy.

After reading this thread I'm even more confused! Problem is that dd (3.8) sooooo wants a sister, and we told her that was likely. Oops! Perhaps we shouldn't have been so bold...

Also, I like my choice for girls name much better than the boys one Grin

Aggie - just to say enjoy your 4D scan - it was the most fantastic experience ours at 30 weeks (bit late she was a bit squished!) It was amzing to feel we knew her face already - dp says the birth was more like meeting an old friend than a new baby :) :)

Thanks Rubymummy- am really looking forward to it :)
SF - sorry to make you more confused, I read somewhere on tinternet that dreams of what sex your having are often right - I'll have to see if I can find the link.
Dunno what that means for my friend who dreamt she gave birth to a flat beagle puppy!

has anyone been told it is a boy and then it turns out to be a girl? I had an instinct before my scan it was a boy and the sonographer initially thought it was a girl but the leg position wasn't helping... halfway through the scan he announced that he changed his mind and showed us what looked to be boys bits on the screen and said nope this is a boy! now with 7 weeks til c- section date i am panicking that it will be a girl! i have a girl and boy already so what this one is doesn't matter in the slightest.. but the blue hat with babies name on it keeps annoying me and i wish i hadn't bought it
