I was going to join the other one but those luck ladies have had thier babies and are now talking all things newborn Envy.

So join me if you are fat and getting somewhat fed up!

I am 36+4 and a scan on Monday showed that DS is already weighing around 7lb 3 Shock. For that reason alone I'm hoping he puts in an appearance soon. Previous DC's have been 40+1, 39 and 39 and 7lb6, 8lb13 and 8lb12.5 so not so sure why this one is estimated to be so big!

Good luck to Ginger and Lime today, will be thinking of you both.

Today I am GROUCHY, god forbid anyone who crosses me. I had 4 hours sleep last night due to another bout of irregular contractions that faded yet again into nothingness Angry. I now feel sick and bloody tired, and I've got to try and keep some sort of happy face on for MIL and FIL who are here (who are much welcome by the way-lovely people-but today I just wanna curl up on sofa and not sure I really should).

I also want to cry for no apparent reason Sad, but I think its all to do with lack of sleep, I'm a 10 hours a night kinda woman. So all this insomnia is beating me.

Mrsshears/ SES - Also am with you on the people staring. I really want to shout WHAT... or have you never seen a pregnant woman before!?! lol.

Have midwife later, going to ASK for a Sweep. I'm not sure if she will entertain the idea, i am 39 weeks today.... but DH starts jury duty on Monday, and then is away with work from the next week, so having the baby in the next few days would be lovely (Wouldn't it be for ALL of us.... after all thats why we're here! Wink) From what you ladies have said too, is that she wont admister it, and that i'll need to be refered to the hospitial. Groan.

Sorry for those of you who have people texting and calling. MIL Text DH yesterday asking if any signs. I wanted to Scream and Say, well NO...... we WOULD tell you! People! shakes head

Emily - sorry to hear of your heartburn, ive suffered with that so much this time, i know how miserable it is.

used2bthin · 06/06/2012 11:23

blueandred poor you this is what I have had a few times it is so frustrating! My friend had the same and was already dilated 2cm at her sweep so lets hope its doing something for us.

I am all excited because I have had a bit of an upset tummy and a few random crampy pains. I am going to ignore the fact that
1-I get this all the time see above
2-DD is poorly and had two runny poos yesterday so I could have a virus like her
3-I have eaten a whole pineapple between last night and this morning.

BUT at some point it will be the real thing so I am remaining hopeful (till later!)

used2bthin · 06/06/2012 11:25

Emily I have the heartburn back too and sickness. And must get myself a sweep booked although is yours baby no 1? I may be told 41 weeks as its my second I guess.

DairyNips · 06/06/2012 11:33

Due date todayHmm

Not much action, had a bit of an upset tummy and a 'clear out' which I'm clinging to as a 'sign' other than that just a very mild crampy period type ache. Fully expecting to go over then the real moaning can beginGrin

SESthebrave · 06/06/2012 11:40

Oh the symptom spotting! It's a bit like when ttc all over again!

So ladies, what's the best response to someone who's posted on my FB wall " do you have a date to be induced if the baby doesn't come?" She's a young girl I know through church and I think she's quite excited as its her 21st on Saturday and she's hoping the baby will be born then. Do I just reply saying "yes, and it's not Saturday!" ?

Off out to meet friends and their LOs (DS's friends) in a bit so preparing for stares!

Catch you later!

LimeFlower · 06/06/2012 13:36

Hello,ladies :)
Thak you very much for your support :)

Will call the hospital in a few hours to find out if they have a bed for me.
Off i go to occupy my mind-keep telling myself it's nothing but scared anyway.Oh well,i suppose i'll just have to take it as it comes.

Rrrrayray · 06/06/2012 14:57

Back from midwife,
Was a little anxious RE: jury duty for my husband so lovely midwife OFFERED a sweep as i am past the gestation of previous baby. Sweep with DD was So painful, this was bareful uncomftable at all. She said was a good sweep, and wrote the following in notes

Cervix anteriod, 1 CM dilated, easily admitted finger, 1 1/2 cm long and soft. Sweep performed easily.

Perhaps means something more to someone else! Lets hope it does something?! Who else was having their sweep today?!

She wasnt pleased with the reduction in movements and i have to pop back later if i dont' feel anymore movements.

Lime Be thinking of you later!

Idratherbeknitting · 06/06/2012 14:58

Very good luck to all off into hospital today for induction... I've had two different goes at it - with varying results. And will be in again on Monday, bed permitting.

Had reasonable contactions every 20 mins last night, but they stopped as soon as I went to bed. Very frustrating. And the dratted period paid thing won't stop (had it constantly for about a week now) - why is nothing happening??

used2bthin · 06/06/2012 16:16

ooh I am also past gestation of previous baby! Hope my midwife will sweep! I will be 39+6 at the appointment. She only comes to the surgery once a week so I thought I'd better go tomorrow or would be 40+6. Wish it was today!

Rrrrayay that sounds promising! I am a bit worried it will hurt-the speculum they used to swab me last week was like a smear thing when I had my discharge thing I thought was waters. The midwife said it would hurt quite a bit at this stage of pregnancy and it didn't really, very odd!

Kveta · 06/06/2012 16:57

well, interesting day here.

had reduced movements O/N so told mw at appt, then she couldn't find heartbeat for ages, eventually thought she got it with pinard. tried to perform sweep, but my cervix was having none of it!

so we ended up at the hospital for monitoring, where they prodded me a lot, and eventually found baby, who promptly woke up! so all is well, but we had a bit of a scare.

still on for induction next week, but lovely mw said she's on call on sunday so i can have a second sweep then if i want.

long day!

mrsshears · 06/06/2012 17:13

Phew! very relieved for you kveta

Rrrray I ended up having a second unexpected sweep today, i was in such a foul mood when i woke up that i decided to travel across town to the com midwife drop in clinic, luckily the midwife that was on was one i know well and i managed to get her to do a sweep, apparently 2-3cm dialated a cm long and looking favorable, but then thats what they said last week too and i'm still here.
I have had lots of cramps this afternoon but not getting my hopes up as i seem to have constant cramps at the minute, the midwife said to keep my appointment tomorrow with my own midwife to organise a date for induction.

limeflower any news on a bed for you?

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 06/06/2012 19:41

SES Grin at the symptom spotting like TTC, I never thought I'd have to worry about symptom spotting ever again, and yet here I am looking for signs of labour at every corner!

Ive settled myself into thinking that I will end up making my appointment with the MW on Fri (had originally thought I would be with baby by then!) so am really hoping she'll agree to giving me a sweep-I already know I'm favourable so keep your fingers crossed she'll do one.

Lime heres hoping the lack of news means your in hospital in a bed and induction is underway.

RachelWalsh · 06/06/2012 19:42

Well I'm totally freaked out. We had a car crash today, car is a right off and I was terrified the baby was hurt. He is fine thank goodness(monitored at hospital for two hours) but I am really shaken up, as is dh.

Kveta - glad your scare turned out ok, it's horrible to have that worry.

Good luck to all that have had sweeps or are going in for inductions.

I just want this baby here now, I don't know if I can cope with any more stress tbh. It was my dads funeral last Friday and I just feel emotionally wrung out and exhausted. I want my boy in my arms, safe and labour done dusted.

used2bthin · 06/06/2012 19:49

Oh no rachel how scary! Lets hope we all are very very soon.

lady in pharmacy reckons it'll be today or tomorrow for me Wink

kveta glad you are ok too.

mrsshears fingers crossed for you!

I have my appointment with the mw at 4 tomorrow, reeeeallly hope she'll agree to a sweep! if not I will go to the community one next tues. Oh god next tues would mean AFTER the school run with no baby yet!

used2bthin · 06/06/2012 19:52

Blue so you will be 39+5 then? I will be 39+6 tomorrow when I am asking for mine. Fingers crossed for us both that our midwives say yes! Or that we go into labour before that but thats probably too much to ask in my case anyway, baby still seems to be mostly over to my right side not even sure the head is still down which is another reason I want this mw appointment, baby was back to back last time.

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 06/06/2012 20:16

Yep I'll be 39+5, D-day is Sunday (which is also DH's birthday Hmm), last two babies came at 39+0 so I'm hoping that might sway her decision making somewhat. My baby is laying to the right hand side too, although occasionally moves over, but all the others have layed there too so I don't think I've got too much to worry about. He was 3/5th engaged at my last appointment, he just doesn't seem to know what he needs to do now he's down there-typical male Grin.
Will keep my fingers crossed for your appointment tomorrow.

OP posts:
Kveta · 06/06/2012 20:22

oh no rachel what a scary time for you. glad baby is ok, but it's the last thing you need.

hope there are some arrivals on this thread soon!

SESthebrave · 06/06/2012 20:41

Rachel - how scary! Not surprised you were shaken up.

Kveta - glad all ok!

Fingers crossed that BlueandRed and used2bethin get your sweeps tomorrow.

Hope all going well with Lime and Ginger

mrsshears - great that you got another sweep

Hopefully by morning we'll have another baby or two?!

used2bthin · 06/06/2012 21:09

Thanks blue and SES. And yes heres to some babies soon!

Upset tummy and accompanying cramps came to nothing. Glad the engagement thing hasn't meant much before to others, this one was also 3/5 (then a mw at hospital said oh its well down whatever that means) but she's still wriggling around loads and kicking by my ribs on the right.

DD still awake and crying on and off due to being ill which isn't helping-esp as DH has no patience.

rrrayray · 06/06/2012 22:24

Ratherbeknitting - I know what you mean about the patches of frustrating contractions amounting to nothing. Hopefully it'll be the real deal before Long.

Usedtobethin - my sweep wasn't really that uncomfy at all, which like you surprised me!! Good luck tomorrow.

Kveta - phew. Sounds likes worrying day for you. Glad baby all well & behaving now.

Mrsshears - trying not to get my hopes up either. Especially as sounds like your body has been doing even more than mine. Surely 2-3 cm
Without being in labour is pretty impressive! Well done your
Body!

Rachel - oh my goodness. What a day. So relieved to hear baby, you and DH are fine. Rest up.

Have been having mild contractions since about 50'. About 15 mins apart. Don't seem to be getting any stronger though. Hoping to be woken up
In the night! ;-)

Sleep well to one and all, unless your labouring of course!

used2bthin · 06/06/2012 22:58

rrayray thanks and good luck to you too, hope it gets going perhaps after you've had a little sleep if thats possible with the contractions. Sounds v promising.

I just had a moment of doubt as I looked up past threads on sweeps and how you need to be ready before they work but have now u turned after dropping off and being immediately woken by a sharp pain AGAIN presumably the baby's head or hand on my cervix-can actuallyfeel pressure on ithen that happens and a loss of control as if I could wet myself-been going on weeks so am not symptom spotting just wondered if anyone else gets it? It may be to do with my SPD I guess?

Lucietea · 06/06/2012 23:46

Good luck to all having sweeps/ inductions. rachel how terrifying.. So glad you and the baby are ok.
I'm 41 weeks tomorrow. Why are we ll still pregnant?! It's so disappointing when nothing progresses, isn't it. Today I've had literally nothing- not even mucus or an upset tummy! Unbelievable. I'm going backwards. Last night I was kept awake by what I thought was the start of labour and then the baby was going mental- I nearly thought about calling hospital to check it wasn't a sign baby in distress, but I fell asleep in the end. Today hardly anything.
Sweep tomorrow but not with my usual midwife so am a bit worried about that.
I get worried because I think by this stage the baby is better out than in- but I'm a first timer and really don't know!
Hope some of you ladies go into labour tonight.. Looks like Lime got her bed (smile) best of luck everyone and hope you all manage to get some decent sleep tonight. I hope I do :-)
