I was going to join the other one but those luck ladies have had thier babies and are now talking all things newborn Envy.

So join me if you are fat and getting somewhat fed up!

I am 36+4 and a scan on Monday showed that DS is already weighing around 7lb 3 Shock. For that reason alone I'm hoping he puts in an appearance soon. Previous DC's have been 40+1, 39 and 39 and 7lb6, 8lb13 and 8lb12.5 so not so sure why this one is estimated to be so big!

Rrrray, I have a MW appt on Thurs and I am considering begging her for a sweep!!

Lucietea · 05/06/2012 09:26

No baby for me yet- had a few achey pains, but that could just be a bit of a sqiffy tummy? Been going to the loo a lot. I keep getting mucas plug stuff too but no blood. I have no idea what this means - nothing probably.
Sleeping really, really badly still and my bones actually ache now. All round my groin, pelvis and inside leg.it's better during the day but at night they ache like hell and walking to the loo is agony!
Totally fed up too, McKayz I don't want o go out but bored shitless staying in . Argh!

GingerLemonTea · 05/06/2012 09:27

8am. Nervous. Can feel myself getting ratty re the medicalisation of it/ number of people in the room etc.
I know it might not be like that, I have read some positive stories, but just not how I imagined it.

Idratherbeknitting · 05/06/2012 10:38

Hi, am adding my name to the list as I'm thinking my baby isn't going to appear anytime soon.

I'm 40+6 today, and feel better than ever. Simply don't get it! This is my DC4, and am not looking forward to the induction thing (again). Booked for next monday.

MW wouldn't sweep today as they are OFF due to the bank holiday. Have to wait until thursday.

With DS I had sweep wednesday am, show overnight wednesday, 1st contraction Thursday am!

Have sweep booked tomorrow lunch time, so got fingers crossed for baby by the weekend. Time will tell I suppose. Have been having lots of mucusy discharge, but none bloody. Ah, the many and varied delights of pregnancy...

Off to a jubilee st party this afternoon, so have made DS a corgi hat for the occasion. Was planning to enter the victoria sponge competition at it, but cannot be bothered! Just walking there and back with pissy DH and FIL who do not get the whole jubilee thing at all will be enough for one day!

EmilyD2012 · 05/06/2012 11:05

Hi

Can I add my name to the list too please? Hoping and praying this will be over soon!

LimeFlower · 05/06/2012 12:13

Everybody still intact? Off to make a cake, will check in later :)

SESthebrave · 05/06/2012 12:32

Still here.... Just wish I had something more original to say...

LimeFlower · 05/06/2012 12:43

SES is that your first child and if not how was it with others?

rrrayray · 05/06/2012 12:43

Accupuncture lady seemed possible. Have come home with pen marks all over me to push again later.

I also have been having lots of mucus stringy stuff in knickers. None blood tinged or anything.

SESthebrave · 05/06/2012 12:57

This is DC2. DS had to be a CS before I went into labour as he was lying transverse oblique with his head sticking out my side. They didn't pick it up til quite late on so had CS a day before his due date. Hadn't had any signs of labour at that point.

LimeFlower · 05/06/2012 13:19

Sorry,SES,didn't realize.I was asking because I heard that if you were late with previous DC then it's just your body's timing of things.
rrray wish i thought about it earlier but i was naively thinking that this baby would come on time...

Cake in the oven, kitchen nearly clean except few dishes in the sink. Will wait until it's done and off for a nap.

Went to the shop, saw one of the women that gave birth exactly a month ago.Put my head down and just passed.Looking at her pram made me feel like a complete failure.May babies,eh?What bollocks :( :( :(

SESthebrave · 05/06/2012 13:50

No worries Lime, it was fine, just not what I'd planned or imagined. You'd think I would be used to that concept for DC2!
You've been busy today - Not sure I've got the energy to do anything constructive!

BlueAndRedAndWhite · 05/06/2012 13:52

Still here, no signs Sad. Ive got the mucousy discharge too, not sure if thats a sign of anything imminent. Can't help on the show thing-this is DC4 and Ive never had a bloody show Shock. I always just assumed that the increased mucous in the last week or two was my plug coming away slowly.

Heartburn seems to have ramped up a bit for some reason, it had died down-I do hope it doesnt mean he's un-enagaged (is there such a word?).

I did for once get a good nights sleep last night which was a relief, I think it was down to sheer exhaustion though.

LimeFlower · 05/06/2012 14:14

I was wondering whether to start a thread about the induction in Childbirth but I'll have a look first.Surely not all of them are horror stories.Off for a nap ladies, will catch up with you later :)

Fishpond · 05/06/2012 14:23

I am 34 weeks now, way behind most of you but wanted to add my tuppence re; mucus plugs - a large bit of mine came out at 32 weeks and I've had occasional bits come away since then. Cervix still closed and nothing else to report so sadly dont think it's related.

SESthebrave · 05/06/2012 15:51

Grrrr!

Some friends of ours are getting married on Thurs and we're invited to church and evening do. We know them because DH knows the groom through work. We always said that we wouldn't know for certain until nearer the time and a couple of days ago I asked DH to contact them to let them know the situation and that it was unlikely we'd be there.

The grrr is because a) DH obviously hasn't contacted them and b) because the bride has just put a comment on my FB status about being impatient & overdue saying she wants to know whether we're going as they have to pay for the actual number of guests.

I've asked DH to phone them and he said he will when he's back at work tomorrow. In the meantime I've sent the bride a PM on FB to say its looking unlikely, DH will be in touch tomorrow and I wish I had a crystal ball!

Grrrr!!!

LimeFlower · 05/06/2012 17:03

SES can't you phone them yourself? At least you let the bride know.
It's frustrating when you ask DH to do something and he delays doing it because he can't be bothered it's not a big deal.

SESthebrave · 05/06/2012 17:42

I haven't got their number (although could get it from DH) but she's picked up my private FB message and replied ok.

Ginger and Lime - how are you feeling about tomorrow? I've just spoken to a friend of mine who was due to be induced with her first and went into labour naturally with 10hrs to spare!

LimeFlower · 05/06/2012 18:11

I don't know how i feel.I'm not excited that it will be over,i'm ashamed of myself but started to resent this baby so now i'm in the state of "i don't give a fuck".Hope my attitude will change, just feeling so frustrated and disappointed with whole situation.
I gave up "looking forward" to it as I was waiting so long and nothing happened. It's not guaranteed that it will start tomorrow as the hospital will take me in only if they have a bed.
Scared of medically managed labour as all i know about it comes from the net including info from NHS that is not looking too well (more painful delivery, uterus rupture and such things).
Just sod it :(

LimeFlower · 05/06/2012 18:20

SES at least you let them know, but your DH is the same as mine, grrrrrr.

2 weeks ago when we had this warm weather the bird flew into the house and got stuck in the bathroom. Before i opened the window to let it out it managed to get through the hole in the ceiling up to the loft (bathroom is "getting done" for the last 18 months, don't ask, that's another story).

Hot like hell up in the loft, asked DH to go there and open the hatch to let the bird out.He never done it until next day when I explained that if this bloody bird dies over there it will reek to high heaven and there's a chance of some maggots feasting on it.So he went.No sign of the bird, goodness knows where it is.Hope it managed to fly outside and not collapse dehydrated somewhere between the piles of DH crap treasures.

They just can't see it sometimes...Angry

GingerLemonTea · 05/06/2012 18:24

Fed up too! At least it's at 8am so will hopefully have the process started by late morning.
Fed up of all the attention from family too, to be honest. Every day we get phone calls, visits, "is anything happening?"
As of tomorrow it will be mental, might have to turn phones off. I know people are excited, but I am seriously grumpy now and it's not just about a lovely new baby, it's about me being potentially exhausted, stitched, csection and actually feeling like I need privacy at that time & not people trying to get in outwith visiting as has been suggested. I quite like my alone time and I know that will be a rarity, but struggling with all the fuss.
Lime I feel the same, didn't sign up for this, just expected it would go straightforward - silly me :(

LimeFlower · 05/06/2012 18:34

Ginger I'm not excited anymore about meeting the little one,i just i don't know, run out of steam? All enthusiasm is gone.
As for the other people, only handful of the closest ones know about induction and they are tactful enough to not hassle us with mail, phone calls, visits and text messages. They were told that they would be informed asap and respect it.Thank goodness for that.

BlueAndRedAndWhite · 05/06/2012 20:16

Lime try not to dwell too much on how your feeling, I'm guessing that it'll probably change during labour and if not, well it took me 6 weeks to learn to love my DD when she was born. Before that I just looked at this little baby and thought oh my god! I obviously managed to keep up with the care side of things in the meantime.
Oh and stop googling what might happen-Dr Google only ever gives you the worse case scenario.
Ginger can you tell people that you will just need a couple of days to recover and that you will take visitors once you've recovered from the induction a bit?
SES you should tell them your going, nothing like good old sods law to set labour in motion Grin.
