Hoping its possible, I'm really worried about being that sick again.
Any happy stories gratefully read!
I had no sickness with ds (12)
hyperemesis with dd (now 3) til 20 weeks
Actually had forgotten in the thrill of finding out I@m pregnant until dp mentioned it today

I was really sick with dd but I've had nothing this time.

I worried myself stupid about it until I actually realised it is possible to be physically well during a pregnancy.

Certain smells have made me feel a bit off it, like cooked meats but mostly that has passed now.

jenniferjuniper · 14/02/2006 21:38

i had bad morning sickness with ds now 6 but none at all with dd 3.glowed with health second time round but felt terrible for alot of first pregnancy.Fingers crossed you will bloom !

I felt sick when pg DD but never felt sick at all when pg DS.

motherinferior · 14/02/2006 21:40

I had different sorts of sickness, IYSWIM. First time round I spent about 13 weeks feeling totally nauseous all the time - couldn't smelll anything remotely iffy without heaving. Felt like a perpetual hangover.

Second time round I'd get the occasional urge to throw up, would throw up, and, er, that was it.

Nbg · 14/02/2006 21:44

I heard a old wives tale that if you get sickness you are having a girl, which everyone was happy to tell me whilst I was chucking up in the staff loo's, and a boy if you are well.

If you look at our past pg's alone that would fit

You might just sail through this pg. I hope you do because sickness sucks!

Piffle · 14/02/2006 21:46

After all the Crapola last time around I really really want to sail like a little boat on a peaceful ocean of pregnancy

Do you know how far you are yet Piffle?

Thomcat · 14/02/2006 21:53

I wasn't sick with DD1 and very wretchy and generally ick and tired with DD2. DD1 a much better pregnancy in that sense but with DD1 I got carpel tunnel and tender feet.

Massive congrats btw

KateF · 14/02/2006 22:01

Congratulations Piffle. I hope you don't get any sickness at all . Sorry to report that I was sick, sick, sick for the whole 9 months with all of them

Piffle · 14/02/2006 22:08

nbg I'm not even far enough along to even be along
5 weeks or something silly
Cannot believe I even know yet!

I remember with dd I found out almost straight away that I was pg (4 weeks) and it was like pushing a button, the sickness kicked in within days.

Like I said though, happy to report at 14 weeks I have been sickness free

Sickness free vibes coming your way Piffle

Sorry Nbg
but with ds I was sick
2nd time with dd no sickness at all

Nbg · 14/02/2006 22:58

Damn!

Was hoping for a boy too

Bloomin old wives tales!

colditz · 14/02/2006 23:01

Was sick with ds until 15 weeks
Have thrown up twice with this one, and am now 32 weeks pg. The smell of bolognese makes me feel bad though.

So, yes, very possible.

harrisey · 15/02/2006 00:08

I had sickness to 16 weeks with both dds but none at all with ds. Hope you get a good ride this time round, and congratulations on the pregnancy!

serenity · 15/02/2006 00:39

First two pgs (with DSs) I was a little bit queasy at the beginning.

Third pg (with DD) was sickness galore. The smell of my own skin would make me chuck, as would the smell of DSs and DH - and that is not a comment on their personal hygiene I had to give up dairy and meat for pretty much the whole 9 mths.

However I know plenty of people who have had completely sickness free pgs. IIRC is all to do with how you react to the pg hormone (which is usually why girls and twins are worse) so this time your body might react better!

Congratulations

Piffle · 15/02/2006 08:39

Call em a freak but with all 3 pregnancies I have had very strong feelings about wat sex the baby is, and have been right
I am convinced this is a boy. Had no sickness with ds and vomited for England with dd.
So I'm presuming I'll be sickness free
With dd it was compounded, I went off garlic and fat so so badly and we lived above a fish and chip/chinese takeaway and an Indian takeaway.
This time rural lincolnshire air.
How can it not be sickness free
thanks for letting me know, I feel very happy

Congratulations Piffle ! I was sick until 16 weeks with DD, got a week off then it came back until I was about 32 weeks, then again for the last few weeks. I felt horribly ill until she was born at which point although I was in a bit of pain from a c/section, I felt well again. With DS I felt slightly queasy but that's as far as it went.

Helen38 · 15/02/2006 09:49

Puked for 26 wks solid with ds1, not atall with ds2 or with this one so who knows, they are all different

Piffle · 15/02/2006 09:59

Excellent news! Am banking on it now

I was sick repeatedlt to 5 months with ds.

Sick with dd but far less, confined to low blood sugar moments and only to 12 weeks.

What I found helped a lot was low gi foods and vit b complex. Wholemeal pasta and marmite...its all coming back...

nowanearlyNicemum · 15/02/2006 11:06

great to read this thread!
I was horribly sick with dd for the first 4.5 months but so far am feeling absolutely fine with this one - very early days but fingers crossed it will continue

bubblepop · 15/02/2006 13:45

wasn't too bad with the boys, felt a lot sicker when pg with the girls
