Hoping its possible, I'm really worried about being that sick again.
Any happy stories gratefully read!
I had no sickness with ds (12)
hyperemesis with dd (now 3) til 20 weeks
Actually had forgotten in the thrill of finding out I@m pregnant until dp mentioned it today

I'll bet you get sick from about 9 weeks on whatever the sex

cos you are more knackered now

Piffle · 15/02/2006 13:49

Enid GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I'm not knackered LOL I have the easiest 3 yr old in the world. And a 12 yr old ds who loves to cook. And my mum staying!
I've just jinxed myself right?

Piffle · 15/02/2006 13:50

Oh and to your question, hardly very pregnant, tested early, knowing as you do that you are, when you are IYSWIM

really hope you dont have hyperemesis though

Kidstrack2 · 15/02/2006 13:52

No sickness at all with ds in my first preg but with my second preg (my dd) I was sick till 16wks and then stopped and then it started again when i was 30wks and ended up in hospital for a few days.

Piffle · 15/02/2006 13:55

Enid I suspect I'll bump into you before then
Kidstrack thats similar to me with ds nothing, with dd so much illness...
I really do not want hyperemesis again, a little nausea... fine...

This site might be useful.

I have four DDs and had HG twice.

This pregnancy I am still suffering from HG (at 32 weeks ) and the baby is a

BOY!!

Piffle · 15/02/2006 14:36

Yes it is a good site , I did it to death when pregnant with dd. Nothing really worked except the sea sick bands which cut it down by about 10% and homeopathy which got it down to about 10x a day of being sick
I did not take my sea bands off until the placenta was delivered LOL

Piffle · 15/02/2006 14:37

allyco how do you cope with the kids and HG?
I found it almost impossible with one helpful and independent 9 yr old and a supportive partner and no work.

madmarchhare · 15/02/2006 14:40

Thats what I wonder Pif. I am too scared to have anymore .

Piffle · 15/02/2006 14:43

Dp confessed last night on the phone (he is away this week) that this was the man reason he was not keen on another baby, he said it wrecked me.
I cannot believe I have forgotten the worst of it and he hasn't!

Funny that, DH always mentions things about it all that I thought he wouldnt really remember. I think he must have been really worried at the time and its stuck, either that or he just remembers having to do everything!

allyco · 15/02/2006 15:21

piffle am not entirely sure TBH. Helps that DDS are mostly older (one is 19 so is away at uni, one is 13, one is 8 and the little one 17 months)

I have been in hospital a few times for fluids and anti-emetics but have noticed quite a difference in the way I'm treated according to the midwives' personal opinions re HG and preg sickness in general. Sometimes I think they don't believe I am as ill as I say, although has lovely DH has had occasion to point out, I could possibly fake sickness but I can't fake screwed up liver function tests/ketonuria/BP so low it barely registers.

HG stinks!!

Sorry, not sure where all that came from and not even relevant to this thread

Piffle · 15/02/2006 15:36

It was the weight loss I think which shocked dp last time. I'm torn between panicking about no symptoms and releived I've got no symptoms
With dd at this stage I was already throwing up tons, so it looks like its different either way.

allyco · 15/02/2006 16:27

I know. If I am throwing up I hate it, because I'm throwing up. If I stop for a while, I panic!!

I can't imagine ever being pg and not being sick now, which is why I think it must be a fallacy about girls making you sicker than boys. It MUST be individual reactions to the hormones, mustn't it?? I couldn't believe it when the sonographer said this baby was a boy, I just assumed that because I was so sick again, it must be another girl.
