Apologies if there is already a thread like this.

I'm only 9 weeks and my little bean is called Angus McRonald, just because it's funny. Scary thing is that my other 3 have really took to this name and I'll be cacking it if I have a boy now incase it sticks :)

That's a great name! :)

Mine is called, very unimaginatively, Bump. That's all we've called it all the way through, and we're rubbish at picking names so he might actually be called that when he arrives.. :o

Flisspaps · 11/04/2012 23:21

Bump, Newbaby or 'Oi lazyarse' - in my defence I'm 40+7 and wondering when it's going to show it's face! Hmm

ShellyBobbs · 11/04/2012 23:25

This is the first time I've named my bump, really hope we don't get attached to the name though, can you imagine it when it starts school Confused

Mine is Hobnob!

GTbaby · 12/04/2012 02:27

I named my 'bump ' fraggel. Although I'm only 11 weeks and really there is no bump!

blacktreaclecat · 12/04/2012 04:04

Blob- when we first saw a pic it was a 5 day embryo it looked like a blob, also at first scan.
Now I look like a blob

TitsalinaBumSquash · 12/04/2012 05:47

Ours is referred to as Bean, mainly because currently, it looks like a bean Grin

Springforward · 12/04/2012 06:14

Bean, then bump.

Kelbells · 12/04/2012 07:46

Ours is 'Limpet' we had a mc before this pregnancy so wanted to give it the stickiest name we could think of!... Oh, and we live by the sea. It's getting a bit big for it now though, I need inspiration!! Smile

harrygracejessica · 12/04/2012 08:27

Hip and hop :-) was having twins and the big kids named them after the twin rabbits in driver dan the story train.

PickleSarnie · 12/04/2012 08:36

Gertrude. Not sure if it's a boy or girl yet but is a Gertrude nonetheless. Was the first slightly ridiculous name I thought of. I'm scared it sticks too and I end up saddling some poor child with the name Gertrude! Especially if it turns out to be a boy.

kat1885 · 12/04/2012 08:44

As a bump (still is a bump atm, 39+3 - hurry up!) he was always something like Cuthbert, Cubald, Egbert, Reginald (basically names you just wouldn't use nowadays) - we will prob actually call him Aaron - this is the name my DH and DS1 both like from the list I provided (makes me sound awful, I just went through the books and made loads of shortlists and this was the name we all agreed on).

saggybaps · 12/04/2012 08:45

Dave or Baby David. Unfortunately it seems to have stuck! If we hadn't come up with a name we really really liked, I think it could have been called Dave.

vvviola · 12/04/2012 08:48

Pickle - bump 1 was called Gertrude too :) or rather Gertrude Bartholomew. In response to all the people who kept suggesting names Grin

Bump 2 was called buglet - because DD1's nickname is 'bug', so 'buglet' seemed appropriate. That name stuck.

PleaseChooseAnotherNN · 12/04/2012 08:48

Thomas, which will be his name after birth too. Before we found out the sex it was bean.

LouisaJF · 12/04/2012 09:31

Ours was named Freddie from day 1. I have no idea why. We have since found out it's a boy and it is definitely sticking. I think when he's born if the name we've chosen doesn't suit we might revert back to Freddie!

A friend who has just become a dad is nicknamed Wig. We all referred to the unborn baby as Wiglet but we were dying for it to be twins so that he could have Twiglets (yes, we're strange).

PickleSarnie · 12/04/2012 09:34

Awwwwwww, I didn't think of a middle name vviola! Ds1 was either kermit, gaylord or Lancelot based on ridiculous names from ancient baby name books the MIL kept giving us.

Fliss55 · 12/04/2012 09:34

Mine was Plimpy and now he's 6MO and called Plimpy most of the time!

Stuntnun · 12/04/2012 09:37

We just call it 'the parasite'. Sorry!

Onlymydogunderstandsme · 12/04/2012 09:44

Ours is 'Dave' no idea why, we don't know wat we are having. DH and I got married a few weeks ago and baby was refered to as 'Dave' in his speech! It's what everyone knows the bump as now! Baby will not be called Dave if it's a boy though!! However, we are refering to it as 'he', we aren't bothered either way what we have it's just what has happenned!! I'm 32 weeksso not long until we find out if it's a Dave or Davinia!!

LAF77 · 12/04/2012 09:48

We called ours Bob the bump after the 20 week scan. I couldn't bear to call him Robert as a first or second name, but my husband uses his given name, Max, and calls him Max Bobby now he's here. We can't shake the nick name!

SarryB · 12/04/2012 10:16

Squid.
I had a scary dream at about 10 weeks that I gave birth to an octopus, and was convinced that one would show up on my 12 week scan. Thankfully it is a baby, not a squid.

ElizabethPonsonby · 12/04/2012 10:41

Baby Bean here, or Little Sod / Git if it's using my bladder as a tramploline....

Justfeckingdoit · 12/04/2012 10:51

Mine was called Rufus. No idea why, and then when we found out it was a girl, Clementine.

Her actual name is Clementine. Nothing else fitted.

Therefore, be careful what you name your bump Wink

karatekimmi · 12/04/2012 11:02

Flump was named by my godson (he thinks this will be the name afterwards though!! Or flumpette if it's a girl!)

I quite like it, as it's very annoying when it beats the shit out of me in the night, so then it's fucking lump!!! Can't wait for it to turn up so it can kick and punch Daddy!!!!
