Apologies if there is already a thread like this.

I'm only 9 weeks and my little bean is called Angus McRonald, just because it's funny. Scary thing is that my other 3 have really took to this name and I'll be cacking it if I have a boy now incase it sticks :)

My bump (33 weeks) is called Chibi, which is, afaik, Japanese for short person. Absolutely no Japanese heritage here, but close friend is obsessed with all things Japanese and suggested it. Weird thing is I have Chibi's 'real' name all sorted but can't think of him as anything other than Chibi until he arrives!

Bump, baby or little one.

When more active: wriggle or squiggle

Its funny, my mum asked me this the other day and said that she used to call her first (my elder sister) bump 'Albert'. I had to ask if she would have been called that if she was a boy and she said no. But maybe it had some impact as she's called Victoria (V&A lol) Grin

We do have current favourite names for a boy or a girl, but haven't used either of them for bump yet.

Mine is called Bump or the Badger (or baby badger).

My sis called hers Flossie and when she was born it was really hard to shake the nickname off (DN is called Scarlett) - took about 6 months!! beware beware

Naisy · 12/04/2012 12:50

Ours is Baba Ganoush!

Likesshinythings · 12/04/2012 13:00

The bump that became DS was called Pip (short for Pipaluk which means "little one" in Inuit. Dh used to work at London Zoo and saw it in a book about the history of the zoo - it was the name of a baby polar bear). Everyone predicted that it would stick but we haven't used it once since he was born, which is a shame, really, since it's quite nice.

FoxyRevenger · 12/04/2012 13:03

Ours is named Asparagus.

DC1 was named Archipelago or sometimes Archie Smile

farfallarocks · 12/04/2012 13:17

Mine is called The Dragon as it will be born in the year of the dragon and it needs to be a fighter as my body has a habbit of killing them off!

BellaCB · 12/04/2012 13:50

Mine was called Thurlow. We came across it on a list of old English names and it was coincidentally the street where we lived and DD was conceived, so it stuck. Until we found out that she was DD, and then it seemed a bit wrong... Then we referred to her as 'she'. Imaginative, huh?

If she'd ended up as DS then I think I might have tried to get Thurlow in as a middle name!

BawbagBiggins · 12/04/2012 13:55

My first was called Pimple as he was a baby Boyle!

For the life of me I can't remember the second bumps nickname, but it was along the same lines

Russki · 12/04/2012 14:09

Hortensia - like Pickle, it was the first ridiculous name i could think of. But now i'm worried that it might just stick! Plus i keep offending people who actually like the name Hortensia!

EggsMichelle · 12/04/2012 14:21

Naisy, I love yours, I wish I had thought of that! Ours is calls Shrimpy McPlancton.

openerofjars · 12/04/2012 14:28

This one is "Bumpy" and DS was "Splodge".

We cannot think of a name for Bumpy that we all like, so it will probably remain its name, although we did manage to rename DS.

I do think Bumpy will get a bit of stick at school, though, poor thing.

DizzyKipper · 12/04/2012 19:38

sharond101 · 12/04/2012 23:10

Empusa · 12/04/2012 23:13

Mine was called Skeletor, because the ultrasound scan looked really skeletal.

fanjodisfunction · 13/04/2012 08:42

lostlenore · 13/04/2012 08:44

This one is Tummatron and my DD was Tinkerbean. Once she was born she was Tink the Terrible and that has stuck, but not so bad.

StaceymAloneForver · 13/04/2012 08:53

didnt name dd or ds, but this one at my very early stage (4 1/2 weeks) is called tadpole, its the furthest i've got in a pregnancy in the last few years of trying so willing tadpole to stay where he is (not sure why i've decided he's a he yet either :) )

ellangirl · 13/04/2012 08:55

Pixie, because it's our little ICSI pixie Grin

Purplecatti · 13/04/2012 09:01

We're calling it Sea Monkey, because I thought it would look like some sort of prawn thing.
I was really surprised at the scan as it looked like a teeny blobby person and not a prawn at all, but Sea Monkey has stuck.

ticklebug74 · 13/04/2012 09:11

Badger as that is what my DD who is 5 thought the scan picture was when we showed her :o

sdaisy26 · 13/04/2012 09:12

Mine is called Puggle, which is a baby duck-billed platypus. As far as we can tell though, she is a human baby!

TinkerMaloo · 13/04/2012 11:05

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 13/04/2012 13:55
