Anyone bought one they would recommend and if so how much?

I was thinking about hiring but pretty sure there isn't that much difference between actually buying one

I'm 35 weeks so need to buy one soon

MNHQ Update
This is an old thread, but if you've landed here while on the hunt for similar recommendations, our guide to the best TENS machine has been recently updated. It includes a wide range of options – including devices you can hire as well as purchase – and has been compiled based on the recommendations of Mumsnetters as well as maternity experts. We hope it's helpful! Flowers

I had an Elle TENS, I think I remember seeing that you could either hire or buy them on the site (honestly think I just Googled 'Tens machine'), but I think the difference was like £30 to hire, £50 to buy. I REALLY wish I'd bought one because I couldn't have coped with early labour without one! The key thing is to have a 'boost' button for when the contractions hit.

Yes femme tens, online. If you will use it more than once (ie for future pregnancies) it's cheaper to buy. I used mine, leant it to 2 friends since, and now about to use it again. It's easy to buy replacement pads.

I had an Elle Tens that I got from boots. I'm sure it's probably still here somewhere. Used it for 2 labours now so works out cheaper to buy.

I got mine from Amazon a while back for £30, which when I was shopping around seemed to be the hire price anyway! - look for Bodyclock Health Care Ltd - Femme Tens. It's currently £40 on Amazon.

Thank you very much ladies for your help

Think for the difference in price I'll just buy one - seems like most people would rather they had bought it
