so after my last thread we picked out Jake Paul.

we've been 'test driving it' I don't mind Jake but am rapidly going off of it.

DH likes

Jake
Joshua
Jack

the last two I really hate - big style. I'd like a Harvey or something else but not too sure what.

any ideas? the middle name of Paul will def be sticking.

also how to convince DH there's other names out there than those 3?? he seems to have decided on Jake and that's final! lol.

What about Jacob?

Ryan goes with Paul too.

alexsmum · 31/01/2006 16:00

so do you want something quite 'trendy'?
or do you prefer traditional?

i like;
henry
alexander(obviously!)
james- might be a good one for you, similar to jake without the spikiness
marcus
edward

robin3 · 31/01/2006 16:02

Not sure if this is your first or not but if it is then don't worry about DH. Trick is to decide what you like then wait until moments after the birth then in a doe-eyed I've just been through child-birth way look at DH and say 'Can we call him...'. Bet he agrees to anything. Worked for me and avoided all the fights beforehand.

Can't help on the boys names though...can't think of any myself yet...harder than girls names I think.

meggmoo · 31/01/2006 16:02

Sounds like your dh would say yes to something a bit more traditional rather than trendy:

Johnny (Jonathan)
Marc/o
Harry
Rory
Will(iam)

munz · 31/01/2006 16:04

we have a cousin called ryan - (I have lots of boy cousins). I like Jacob, love it DH doesn't

I'd like something trendy but unusual, DH likes somehting common but fairly traditional.

I do like the williams etc but he doesn't at all.

still left with thou if I do pick one out- how to convince him?? (I like alfie as well)

I love Alfie, really cute trendy name!!!!

DD has a mate in Nursery called Koby, quite cute and unusual. Jake is quite boring and just reminds me of the softie one in Tweenies!!!

Sort him out Munz, your choice of names seems a lot better than his!!!! What are your other little ones called?

Mine are Ellie and Dylan

Lio · 31/01/2006 16:09

Ooh hausfrau, you show off! Boys' names are a PAIN! Give me a girl anyday (ha ha remind me of that if nec)

munz · 31/01/2006 16:11

koby ooh that's nice and unusual. when we were tryin he'd agreed to harry, harvey and Korbin - now thou it's all out the window! lol. we're having the paul cos it's our dad's names - luckiy they have the smae! lol. might say as that's 'traditional' I pick the unsual??, or as it's a boy I choose he chooses for a girl! lol.

moondog · 31/01/2006 16:12

Tell him everyoneunder 10 is called Joshua,Jake or Jack these days.
Doesn't he want his kid to be a little more memorable?

the thing about really trendy names like alfie is that they really date a child, and what might be cute when they are little won't be when older. i'm trying to visualise a 15 y/o goth or hoodie type called alfie!

meggmoo · 31/01/2006 16:14

Jody
George

i like dominic

when i hear ezra i immediately think-pound!

Lio · 31/01/2006 16:18

Barnaby Paul has a better rhythm than some of these. Jake Paul sounds a bit flat, for example. And yes I know he won't be saying both names together much, but for me a good rhythm is a consideration.

Koby makes me think of Star Wars.

Lio · 31/01/2006 16:18

Dominic Paul = good

Lizzylou · 31/01/2006 16:21

Definitely go for the after birth plea! You deserve to choose after 9mths of pg!

We have picked Benedict for our boys name but I also love:
Edwin
Edward
George
Harry (DS's name)
Oliver
Rory
Samuel
