Kicking off the second thread as we outgrew the first one.

thank you ladies. i feel much better about it now :)

Zara1984 · 29/02/2012 10:40

This thread is so busy!!! Have barely had a chance to read through everything!

Am counting down to my early scan on the 13th. Boobs continue to inflate. Nausea gets worse. Nearly barfed on the bus this morning. Salt and vinegar crisps and water are currently my only discovered nausea solutions. My co-workers (I share an office with two other women) are a bit Hmm about my morning tea time crisp-eating habits at the moment given that I normally just eat healthy stuff Grin ...

Midgetm · 29/02/2012 10:43

squidkid congratulations on your triumph I can rejoice that after my 4 day drought in the pooh department I have had one a day, for the last 2 days. It's the actual best feeling in the world. I heart fybrogel or whatever it's called. Although the texture of drinking it is much like swallowing 200ml of congealed spunk the results are sublime.

Zara1984 · 29/02/2012 10:43

Also I was very naughty and had a half a glass of celebratory champagne yesterday evening. Had three friends round for dinner and they wanted to celebrate my pregnancy. They're all HCPs and assured me it was fine Grin Grin that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Zara1984 · 29/02/2012 10:56

Oh and squidkid I'm sending you virtual high fives for your triumph! Arrrrghhh constipation is the most upsetting and dreary thing.

Angelico · 29/02/2012 11:02

I feel like some kind of demented citrus evangelist here but hot water with a quarter of a lemon squeezed and dropped into it. Two cups of that will get ANYTHING moving out of you. I believe my own gloat last time was that I did a poop the size of a small country :o

Hopefully on my last day off work. Still coughing but at least it is 'productive' now, rather than simply shaking myself to pieces for nothing. Back quite sore, probably combo of coughing and sitting on my arse for the last few days so going to a physio this morning who specialises in pregnancy type stuff. Going to get some exercises I can do throughout. I've read some stuff and used to do Pilates but I have an irrational terror of squishing the bean as I 'zip up' and suck my stomach in lol. I'm hoping she will roll her eyes and tell me to turn my brain back on.

I am a bit worried that I am too okay. Apart from cold my only symptoms are sore boobs and sore back. I am really starting to look pregnant - my shape I mean - even if some of it is bloating and blubber. Is anyone else at 8 +5ish and feeling pretty well? We have an early scan on Sat and petrified we will go along and find nothing there!!!

Angelico · 29/02/2012 11:03

Zara I agree - it is unbelievable how heavy and clogged and depressed I felt with the giant poop lurking inside me!!! Confused

bettybat · 29/02/2012 11:08

Much agreed about the relief of going to the loo! Constipation is miserable, and I always start thinking...oh god, poo can kill if left in there long enough Shock

Angelico I'm six weeks, have massive bloating and no other symptoms except very strange sensations in my uterus. Those two things would be the only way I could confidently say I am pregnant. The other night, it felt like I had trapeze artists in there.

HeeHeeHeeBum · 29/02/2012 11:15

Angelico I'm 9+2 and have hardly any symptoms at all now, just sore boobs (although less so than before) and needing to wee in the night.
My constipation has eased now, which is great as it was the worst thing. I'm intrigued by the early scans but they are very expensive where I am. I think I will probably just wait until my 12 week as its only 3 weeks away now.
Has anyone thought about signing up for NCT classes? I put my name down as I heard they fill up very quickly but they have contacted me saying they want me to confirm by 10th March. I am worried about doing this so soon in case something goes wrong.

HeeHeeHeeBum · 29/02/2012 11:17

Argh! I have just heard from my boss that people are starting to get suspicious as I have been dissapearing at odd times. I'm so paranoid now!

turnwest · 29/02/2012 11:18

just finished reading everyones posts!!

Missbone- I agree with what everyone else has said, its refreshing to hear someone being completely honest, and I would miss reading your comments if you stopped posting. Please dont let the women on the other thread get you down, it sounds as if they are maybe all just a bit sensitive at the moment and its not personal.

bettybat- Everything will work out in the end, it did for me. My DD was definitely not planned, we did nt have lots of money, both worked fulltime and I spent many weeks worrying about how I would be able to afford childcare so I could go back to work. In the end DH changed jobs, his earnings increased and I was able to take unpaid leave from my job for five years to care for our daughter (my choice). Its all worked out fantastically well, and I know it will for you too, and as others have said, as long as the baby is fed and loved it wont really notice or remember how many toys or clothes it has.

hope everyone is having a good day.

resipsa · 29/02/2012 11:43

Sorry to be the merchantess of gloom but as I've told no-one else about this pregnancy, I have no-one else to talk to about it. Had a scan on Monday at 6+6 which showed a 6 week sac (I asked nothing more cause I was so freaked out) with a kink. The sonographer definitiely thinks this one is on its way out although I have to go for another scan next Tuesday to confirm. I am going mad; as well as the stress of wondering if the thing which is still making me sore and sick is still alive, I'm worried that I'll start to gush horribly at work or on the train. How time can drag when you don't want it to...

Beans1977 · 29/02/2012 11:49

Oh resipsa I'm so sorry to hear you are under this strain. Losing a baby is the most horrid experience - I really have everything crossed for you that things take a turn for the better. Have you considered confiding in a good friend? They are there for the bad times as well as the good and when I had a loss last year my friends really helped pull me through. Hopefully everything will work out ok for you though, I know some people on here have had bad signs early on and now have DC running around - keep us posted. x

twolittlemonkeys · 29/02/2012 11:55

resipsa so sorry to hear that. The feeling of limbo is just awful. Sending you hugs. A MC is a valid reason to take some time off work as it's such a physical and emotional strain.

If anything I have the opposite problem with regards to bowel movements. Mine seem to be a bit looser than usual Blush (Thank goodness for the anonymity of internet message boards LOL)

I'm looking a bit less bloated today, may just be able to hide this pregnancy, at least until my 9 week scan...

PamPerdbrat · 29/02/2012 12:04

Hello girls; keep seeing your thread on the most active list and I had to come and say hello! The October threads are always popular (I blame the January snow!) DS was born in October 2010 and he's turning 2 this year; eek!

Just wanted to give you all an encouraging and remind you all that time marches on. So even in the rubbish bits; hang on because theyll be running about before you know it! And Mummy won't be cool either; DS runs off into nursery without so much as a goodbye these days, and scowls if I kiss or cuddle him in front of his pals Grin

Very jealous of you ladies; enjoy it as much as you can xx

PamPerdbrat · 29/02/2012 12:07

And resipsa I'm sorry to hear you're worried, but I had bleeding and pain and they wouldn't scan me until 8 weeks Angry but when they did, there was his heart beating away. Have hope sweetheart, my 'unviable pregnancy' is currently shouting at me through a kitchen roll tube Hmm

ChrissieJA · 29/02/2012 12:33

resipa so sorry to hear youre having a tough time. I cant imagine how worried you must be. Your post made me feel so compasionate for you. hang in there.

I see a lot of women on here saying theyre having scans at 8/9 weeks or even earlier. Is this normal? Mine isnt until March 20th which will make me 10 weeks plus the 3 they add on for the date of your last period. This seems ages away.... but they said this was normal. Can i demand one sooner?

missbone · 29/02/2012 12:39

Bettybat, just to say I didn't think I was going to like you (I thought you were one of those bionic women who are from another planet with their super-ness) but you're terrific. Thank you for your post x

Beans1977 · 29/02/2012 12:43

Chrissie A first scan at 11-14 weeks is normal. I think the people having early scans on NHS are ones who've had bleeding or previous ectopic pregnancies, so need extra checks in the early days. You can ask your GP for an earlier scan, but if everything seems to have gone ok so far you probably won't have much luck. Even though I had a late MMC last time the NHS wouldn't check me any earlier than 12 weeks so I had to pay for a private one. Well, I didn't have to pay - but I would have driven DH and I mad waiting!

MsInterpret · 29/02/2012 12:44

bettybat, was definitely not intended to be snarky. I think a Wink might have helped but then sometimes that comes out wrong too... Confused

Beans1977 · 29/02/2012 12:45

And PamPerdbrat thanks for your lovely message! Your DS sounds fab!

MsInterpret · 29/02/2012 12:47

Also, chrissie my scan's not til I'm nearly 14 weeks so despite being one of the earliest due on the thread, feels like my scan is one of the last (28 Mar)! AND not had my booking appt yet. Almost doesn't feel like I'm pregnant...apart from the allday morning sickness...

missbone · 29/02/2012 12:49

Oh, Midgetm!!! 'Congealed spunk'!!! [squealing with laughter] Grin Grin Grin

twolittlemonkeys · 29/02/2012 13:05

ROFL at midgetm's 'congealed spunk', though that has put me right off my lunch! Grin

Chrissie No, I haven't even had a date for my NHS one, however I am so impatient I am paying for an early one privately... I think most of the ladies having early scans are doing the same.

Urgh I feel yuck today, went to visit an old lady I know who is fairly poorly, who, despite many problems with her chest and lungs still smokes like a chimney but thinks she can fool everyone around her into thinking she doesn't by sucking a few mints. Epic fail. Now I can smell the smoke on my clothes and hair. The second the front door opened, it was all I could do to control my gag reflex :( Now I just want to sleep - might catch a sneaky hour of naptime before the school run :)

resipsa · 29/02/2012 13:09

Thanks everyone for the kind words etc etc. I'll just keep it all crossed that the next scan will show a little heartbeat. In the meantime, I hope soon to emulate PamPerdbrat; DD (13 months) still howls like a banshee at nursery drop off and pick up!
